this in interesting! It just shows how the wealthy exploits the poor!
There are many of such examples, the most typical:
When England defeated the Spanish Armada. After a long difficult war, England won. England become a super power, but not the English soldiers who fought in that war were. They were not allowed to land from their ships because the wealthy class the "honourable English, as still called in England" the Queen :-) Elizabeth and co, did not want to pay them. So what they did was they led the victories soldiers to starve in their ships to their deaths.

simple advice; DO NOT FIGHT! Do not become a soldier.

The real soldier always respects his enemy and finds ways of showing it, even on the battlefield. The true tribesman believes the “other” is a devil incarnate and shows no mercy even against the civilians. What we se now is a triumph of the civility over barbarity.
The war in Bosnia was a true tragedy and question: who was responsible for it will always be poised. The various communities had normal live together under Yugoslavia, but Yugoslavia fell apart. Bosnia did nothing to destroy it, but once it was destroyed there was no chance the Croats and the Bosniaks could accept to stay is a ‘smaller’ Yugoslavia, much less in a greater Serbia. Yet it is difficult to imagine how the Serbs could have accepted to wake up in another country. So we had a war. As in many wars both sides won and both sides lost. Bosnia became an independent country but the Serbs were given a reasonable autonomy. Neither side has truly accepted the results but unless they want a new conflict both sides must do it. Helping the veterans of the other side is a good start!

This is just a cheap tactical propaganda ploy in order to get the naive Serbs to bend over and accept a unified muslim controlled bosnian state.

"@Montenegrin-All Serbian hardliner, as you call them, wanted old Yugo to stay together so that there is love and unity.

- This is a bunch of BS. There was no 'love and unity' as you call it. If there was the people of Yugo wouldn't have decided to seceed. There was bullying and taking advantage of the not so fortunate.

All other wanted war, wether by help from West or Middle East, in order to distroy Yugo. So don't call Serbs hardliners, call those that distroyed "bratherhood and unity".

- Wrong again. Here's one example. It was Milosevic who revoked the rights of the Kosovo Albanians and thousands of Serbs cheered and applauded him. Where was the love then?

Yes, this is very nice gesture, however, it is more to show to world how nice Bosniens are, and Serbs are not feeding their own. Again, these terrible Serbs as usual.

Whatever the reason they decided to do this the fact remains that some families will be helped. In this case, those are Serb families and it's good that help is coming from the former enemy.

I hope this is a step toward peace and prosperity. That region needs it badly.

Very good spirit!

and please, can we try not to use this article to push our own beliefs as some have already done? I think the gesture deserves to be taken seriously enough for us not to read anything into it that we have absolutely no idea if it's there or not...

“People took it as a humane, friendly gesture because the misfortune has brought us together. Our children should live just like these politicians’ children. WE WOULD PROBABLY DO THE SAME,” he pointed out.

I doubt that would happen but maybe I'm wrong. There is so much anti-Croat/bosniak rhetoric coming out of the 'RS'.. hopefully there is some actual reciprocation.

peace.

"It is surprising to see that none of the extreme serb commentators are commenting in this article."

Maybe some of them were the recipient of this assistance, lol. But, seriously Bosnia-Herzegovina needs ONE government that represents the interests of all it's people. We are all the same and are going to have to work together because these corrupt politicians only care about themselves. All they do is stir up hate and put the millions and billions of dollars of aid given to BiH into their private bank accounts, instead of helping rebuild the country. Unemployment is 43%

I think it's fantastic. No sarcasm at all. I hope the Serbs will be able to repay their Bosnian co-nationals in kind one day in the future.

What a heartwarming story. I completely support any activity between ordinary people on the ground. We mustn't forget, it wasn't their fault, but the political / military leadership that put them all in that situation in the first place.

I only wish there were more olive branches like this offered to help us all put the past behind us.

What a human act this is. Absolutely not easy at all when considering what went on during the war.
(Montenegrin, 3 February 2012 17:03)

Wow, indeed. Very unusual to see anything positive, I am really very positively surpised.

It is surprising to see that none of the extreme serb commentators are commenting in this article. To serb extreme commentators this article is colder than the weather that has covered all East Europe.
Please, open up your hearts just like the Bosnian soldiers opened their hearts and helped their sworn enemies.
