"I totally agree, as you so correctly state, territorial integrity really should be respected......which is why, I would suggest, that so few of the world's countries support the UDI. I also agree that taking some ideas from Northern Ireland and considering the possible partition might also work. Consider this, Kosovo declared it's UDI and you feel this is perfectly acceptable. What if Northern Kosovo declared it's own UDI from Kosovo, could you disagree with that? Then, what if the "independant Northern Kosovo" realigned itself with Serbia and demanded that the world respected it's territorial integrity? Could you find any reason, based on your own comments, to disagree with those actions? Something to think about maybe?
(UK, 4 February 2012 19:03)"

UK, at the exact moment that Kosovo's Police and Army begin to systematically ethnically cleanse Serbs from the North of Kosovo (like Serbia did with Albanians in Kosovo in 1999), I WILL wholeheartedly support the independence of Northern Kosovo even its unification with Serbia.

I would say the same for Texas, if the U.S. Federal Government tries to expel Mexicans from there, or even if the Canadian government tries to do something similar in Quebec.

Serbia needs to realize that they have F'ed up in Kosovo, and not talk like nothing happened down there in the 1990's! When a government fires upon it's own people, it looses the right to govern those people - period!

Which would translate into "our hands were slapped for trying to divide Kosovo's North, so we have to respect Kosovo's territorial integrity"?

Wow, why are all the Serb posters all of a sudden so defensive? Is it because Tadic himself said something that made sense today?

Is it because he said that "Northern Ireland, South Tyrol, the Aland Islands, and that things that could be implemented in northern Kosovo should be taken from all those solutions"?

Which would translate into "our hands were slapped for trying to divide Kosovo's North, so we have to respect Kosovo's territorial integrity"?

Typical Serbo comment, brain washed from Serbia media than and now.
What were doing Serbian police in kosova where there were only 6% of population Serbian and 90% Albanian, but police force 100% Serbian? The KLA was created just out of blue, because there was no discrimination of albanians in their homes and land. Get lost and do not talk non sense.
(gjon fusha, 3 February 2012 23:29)

-10 points for gjon fusha for not making sense and showing a poor understanding and command of the English language.

Gjon, I think you're the one that has been brainwashed by Albanian Koha Ditore because you clearly wouldn't know how to read or understand news in any other language. How can you talk about a 6% population of Serbs in Kosovo. Should we just go back in history to the date that you think is acceptable? We once populated Kosovo with higher percentage than you Albanians, did you know?

Gjon, if you want to talk about population percentages etc then can you tell me how many people there are in your family? What about your Koso relatives? How many children and cousins do you have?

I strongly doubt any other nationality can live comfortably with Albanian neighbours because you make it so difficult to assimilate with. You may say the same thing about Serbs and tell us that our neighbours don't like us etc but western interference caused most of the problems between slavs in Yugoslavia. You however took a change for the worse when you converted to Islam during Ottoman rule.

You came to Kosovo and invited your extended relatives and increased your population exponentially. You also burn our sacred sites to the ground and your stupid KLA were causing problems for Serbs & other minorities before 1999.

You have a seriously bad reputation in the world.

Ps: Serbian police were in Kosovo 100% because Kosovo is 100% SERBIAN :)

Have a nice day.

1) Serbia left Kosova with their tails between their legs in 1999
2)Kosova Declares its independence. Serbia is powerless to stop it.
3) ICJ rules in Kosova's favor regarding the legality of the Declaration of Independence
4) All major Serbian war criminals are behind bars or 6ft under.
5)Kosova exerts its authority and sends ROSU to the border. Serbs build barricades, but they all eventually relent and now there are no barricades.
6)Serbs since 1999 have said that they will never speak to the Albanians. Edita and Boris now represent two distinct countries and "talk".
7) Serbias own president now admits that he will be willing to "talk" with Thaci.
(USA United States of America, 3 February 2012 18:59)

Oh boy! Albanian versions of history! :)

1. Serbia leaves, sort of, and the UN comes in. The UN is sort of replaced by the EU, while NATO provides the security. All the while Albanians think they have a functioning state because they're allowed to play house.

2. Kosovo declares independence thinking nothing can stop it. Thaci proclaims he has proof 100 countries will recognize in 48 hours. 4 years later, Kosovo has around 80 recognitions, many achieved though US efforts and Pacolli's money. No UN seat, no EU prospects, and an "occupied" north that, at best for them, will be given special status of autonomy.

3. ICJ rules that declaring independence is not illegal. Kosovo still declares a major victory, despite getting only a handful of more recognitions, none of which come from countries with diplomatic weight to change their fortunes. Still, no UN seat, no EU prospects, and an "occupied" north.

4. All major Serbian war criminals ARE behind bars as per previous agreements that have nothing to do with Kosovo. Meanwhile Kosovo's major war criminals continue to run for public office while winning 120% of the vote in some areas and intimidating witnesses who have been asked to testify about their criminal activities in the 1990s.

5. Thaci tries to play tough and sends ROSU to the north. Serbs defend their land, one Albanian gets killed, Pristina gets yelled at, barricades go up, and EULEX still is left out. Two token "border guards" have to be helicoptered in by KFOR for a job they have no authority to perform.

6. Serbs are now attempting to talk to Albanians despite the grandstanting and demands being hurled at them from Pristina.

7. Tadic responds to Thaci's empty gestures in a manner that's typical for a diplomat. Nothing more.

As usual, too little too late. Tadic is so desperate, before the EU candidacy decision at the end of February, that he is now willing to meet publicly with Thaci. I have news for all you disappointed Serb nationalists, Tadic has already met with Thaci on more than one occasion.

Serbian population was greater than 6% and the Albanian population was exaggerated. The recent census in Kosovo shows the Albanian population wasn't as large as thought. Plus the Roma minority was pressured and often counted as being Albanian when they were not.
And one of the reasons why the Serbian population shrunk was because of decades of Albanian terror and gradual ethnic cleansing.
There were some ethnic Albanian police in the Serbian police force - and many of these were actually targeted and murdered by the KLA both before, during and after the war.

Any meeting in current situation would be a waste of time. Serbia must recognise officially Kosovo independence first and then I do not see any problem. But "let's talk for the sake of talking" will not help the substance of the problem between Kosovo and Serbia. Kosovo MUST make sure that applies strictly reciprocity measures with Serbia and when the Serbia gets mature enough then no problems with talking.

Lets see how far we've all come.

1) Serbia left Kosova with their tails between their legs in 1999
2)Kosova Declares its independence. Serbia is powerless to stop it.
3) ICJ rules in Kosova's favor regarding the legality of the Declaration of Independence

7) Serbias own president now admits that he will be willing to "talk" with Thaci.

All this shows you is a chronology of events since 1999 of how Serbia loses more and more and gives up more and more. Every year that passes a "no" becomes a "maybe" and becomes a "yes". If you disagree you are simply ignoring reality which suits the Albanians just fine. I just sit back, relax with my legs on my desk, hands folded behind my head and smiling when I read how "Serbia will be back", maybe in that "heavenly kingdom" in the sky that is talked about so much. As the kind and generous Albanian that I am, I would love to help you guys get there. LOL!

The problem Mr. Thaci is that you are insisting on being treated as an equal country when Serbia does not recognize you. That makes the meeting impossible. Your Kosova is recognized by only about 80 countries. Thus, you can proclaim all you want what you desire but there is no legitimate reason for Tadic to meet you. Now, this doesn't mean that Serbia will not one day recognize some kind of independent Albanian Kosovo, but it won't be until negotiations are done. I understand that you are saying this for political reasons but as far as any non-Albanians are concerned, your gesture is truly meaningless.

UK, at the exact moment that Kosovo's Police and Army begin to systematically ethnically cleanse Serbs from the North of Kosovo (like Serbia did with Albanians in Kosovo in 1999), I WILL wholeheartedly support the independence of Northern Kosovo even its unification with Serbia.

I would say the same for Texas, if the U.S. Federal Government tries to expel Mexicans from there, or even if the Canadian government tries to do something similar in Quebec.

What were doing Serbian police in kosova where there were only 6% of population Serbian and 90% Albanian, but police force 100% Serbian? The KLA was created just out of blue, because there was no discrimination of albanians in their homes and land. Get lost and do not talk non sense.

That's an easy one to answer Demi. Many that were not kidnapped and killed for their body parts are probably making pizza somewhere in Brooklyn NY, Fort Dix NJ and Tampa,Florida.
The answer to the second part of your question is most likely Albania, where they buried all the other KLA's organ harvest victims.

Daniel

pre 12 godina

The problem Mr. Thaci is that you are insisting on being treated as an equal country when Serbia does not recognize you. That makes the meeting impossible. Your Kosova is recognized by only about 80 countries. Thus, you can proclaim all you want what you desire but there is no legitimate reason for Tadic to meet you. Now, this doesn't mean that Serbia will not one day recognize some kind of independent Albanian Kosovo, but it won't be until negotiations are done. I understand that you are saying this for political reasons but as far as any non-Albanians are concerned, your gesture is truly meaningless.

Lets see how far we've all come.

1) Serbia left Kosova with their tails between their legs in 1999
2)Kosova Declares its independence. Serbia is powerless to stop it.
3) ICJ rules in Kosova's favor regarding the legality of the Declaration of Independence

LOL!
