"Serbia would have been better placed had it sold zastava to the Chinese motor firms at least they could have invested real money and not forced Serbia to back their debt as has been the case with Fiat!"

Or the South Koreans - they have been good investors - they've put thousands of people to work in Nis with their company "Yura".

I think all Yugo's are good in design and art,but just so that we can get even in at least that specific field Lenard

Serbian made cars might be a hardsell in the US.

Pop quiz. Do you live in the 20th century or the 21st like the rest of us?

I can remember when the Yugo premiered in the US with a sticker price of 3995. I was intrigued and thought about it might be a good second car at about a third the price of the normal car price at the time. I stopped by a dealership to check one out. I opened the door and closed it and left, that was all the inspection I needed. There was a number sold, and they quickly became known as the first disposable car in America as it was cheaper to discard it than to repair it. Within 2 years you never saw a functioning one on the road.

It does look like a Mini with a Fiat badge on it.

Lenard, you really need to get out more. What next - Croatian toilet paper is vastly superior to Serb toilet paper?

LOL! Lenard, they are concept cars you linked to. You know, cars molded from clay that don't really move. We have something similar. Check -> http://www.zoragy.rs with the exception that this company actually made cars you can drive.

Is this the apparent savior of Serbia's automotive industry? 4 years on and still nothing but fewer jobs and increased debt for Serbia (million of euros underwritten by Serbia) for this mini fakenstill to go (if ever) into production - highly unlikely to sell very well if this is it.

Serbia would have been better placed had it sold zastava to the Chinese motor firms at least they could have invested real money and not forced Serbia to back their debt as has been the case with Fiat!

Interesting that suddenly this is all happening prior to build up of Serbian elections but seems like it will fall flat as the reviews are already trashing it http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/fiat-500l-geneva-motor-show-2012-02-02

All I can comment by saying is that this vehicle somewhat bears resemblance to the Austin Mini Cooper. The question would be is this automobile more or less reliable than the Mini Cooper?
