The bottom line is that Serbia still has a long way to go before approaching European standards. Instead of delaying the process by taking only baby steps isn't it time for Serbia to take some giant steps and in that way maybe get into the EU in about ten years. Belgrade, by dragging its feet, is only hurting the already suffering Serb people and no one else.

PACE: Serbia made considerable progress

Yes, but was the progress "considerable" enough for 'candidate' status. Has belgrade achieved good neighborly relationship with Pristina? Was Tadiq's speech in Kosovo in line with a private-citizen? Is Belgrade's refusal to stop supporting the criminals in the northern part of Kosovo part of "considerable progress"?

This doesn't sound very considerable to me.

"PACE members said Serbia should do much more to fully implement changes to the judiciary, take stronger steps to combat corruption, achieve a higher level of media independence and improve the position of the minorities, especially the Roma"
