Until 1244 has been changed or even deleted Kosovo still is a Serbian province ruled by UN. Like it or not!
(Ron, 24 January 2012 02:52)

Sure, and Kosovo's UDI is in accordance with it (thanks to Vuk for doing the impossible to clarify that).

Of the Balkan States, the three most powerful ones; Romania, Greece & Serbia do not recognise Kosovo as independent.
(Purer & Simpler, 24 January 2012 07:31)
That is very much debatable as to the most powerful status. But in all regional forums it is equal playing field meaning each state equal to each other state. Which means that if you take the 9 balkan states other than Kosovo, there is 1/3 that do not recognize, and 2/3 that do, not a simple majority but a true majority. But if you include all the states that have partial territory in the region then the proportion changes dramatically.
Keep it pure and simple and don't cloud the facts.

Tahiri said, adding that that UN Security Council Resolution 1244 "has become too narrow both in political and legal sense". "

Well, fortunately 1244 is stilll valid. If you want to change 1244: fine with me. Just ask the UN SC.

Oh Ron we have missed you so much! It is a shame you mention 1244 so much without ever being able to comprehend what it says. No where does it say that UNSC 1244 will end when status is determined, but it does say that one of the goals is to determine status, therefore rendering the claim that 1244 somehow guarantees that Kosovo will or is TODAY a province of Serbia totally baseless and false.

What authority power does the UN have over Kosova right now? Honestly, wake up

Why should disputed territory have the same rights at regional forums as normal countries?

Because to the majority of the participants in regional forums it is not a Disputed territory.

Because there does not exist such a thing that is universally disputed or not disputed. As every other country, Kosovo is disputed for some but not for others. Everybody has to respect everybody's else stance.

If A disputes Kosovo's status and B does not dispute it, A cannot impose to B to dispute the Kosovo status, as B cannot impose to A to not dispute the Kosovo status.

Good question. Ironically, Serbia doesn't even want that Kosovo has less rights, it only insists that Kosovo is present in the internationally legally correct way, i.e. under UN1244 with a non-final status.

Serbia is also an disputed territory since 86 countrys wich recognize Kosova do not recognize Serbia with the borders it wants to be recognized.

Kosova will be present at regional meeting's since the majority of regional country's recognize Kosova. The question is if Serbia wants to be present at regional meetings?

Edita Tahiri will wear a sign with 1224 written on it around her neck if told to do so. These "protests" are only for domestic consumption.

The ball is now in Serbias court. There's no need to add 1244, as the foot note “without prejudice to the status” already implies the different views on Kosovos status and how each individual country sees it.
In the meantime, thank you Ghana for recognizing Kosovos independence today.

She added that Priština was "ready to endorse the option which would envisage that the name of Kosovo be coupled with the footnote saying 'without prejudice to the status'."

Oh, the first step to realize the reality - i.e. Kosovo's status is not solved.

"Such phrasing would acknowledge the fact that Serbia has not recognized Kosovo, and this is how Serbia would interpret it. At the same time, it would strike a balance between the sides (to the dialogue), since Priština and the countries which have recognized Kosovo's independence would interpret it as reading 'independent Kosovo'," Tahiri said."

Funny wording. Better say: The more than 90 countries that didn't recognize Kosovo (including Serbia) will interpret is as 'Kosovo is not an independent country'

How about ICJ (International Court of Justice)? How about Serbia not to make itself ridiculous? The situation in Kosovo is as such that Serbian polititians need a visa/permission to get into "their own country"?

"The EU is not behind any options, save for the one which both parties will accept. Priština is not proposing anything. Priština's proposal in such talks is actually a nonexistent term, and I would really like to put an end to such allegations, since Priština simply does not have such an approach to the dialogue, Stefanović concluded."

Where do you get these guys? Jeremic, Stefanovic?
Anyway this is an idiotic statement, this is not a popularity contest.

So, Stefanovic wants us to believe that in those meetings he is the only one who is talking while the others, EU and Pristina, are just nodding their heads in disagreement or agreement. Just imagining the scene is funny. Stefanovic: blah blah blah...blah blaah bla blah. Tahiri: aha aha aha, hem hem. Cooper: no no no, no no no.
