Perhaps, but still child's play for the mighty NATO. I'll bet Putin will soil his diapers when NATO strikes Iran, since he knows Russia may next.

How could one bomb a nuclear country?

My posting was not referring to the price of oil or its hike in view of potential conflict between Iran and West.I was referring to the fact that Sarkozi's warmongering posturing on Iran has changed since France was forced to introduce austerity measures and budgetary cuts due to its downgrading.

(Leonidas, 21 January 2012 13:48)

Yes, that has contributed to a change. Being a re-election year he has no doubt developed some forsight to realise that a rise in oil will result in increased costs, especially by his constituents at the pump or the supermarket. Any rises in costs, further unemployment or drops in exports would push a now super-sensative Sarkozi to abruptly about face on many issues ie Afghanistan.

I agree that capitalism is dead but I don't agree that corporatism is working on its own. What we have is politics being taken over by corporatism and this is something similar with what the Italians had with
Mussolini in the 1930s.The bailouts in US and Europe is a clear example of the merger of state and corporate powers. In capitalism no one is too big to fail and is all about the survival of the fittest.

Don't worry little Leonidas, the Turkish Army will protect Greece from the big bad Ahmadinejad of Iran. Your lack of financial solvency is outdone by your lack of courage.
(The Rogue, 21 January 2012 03:43)

The Turkish army cannot protect itself from the Kurds let alone protecting anybody else.FIY there are nearly 20000 army deserters in Turkey because they don't want to be sent in the Iraqi and Syrian borders.

His statement on Iran is been dictated by the financial situation in France and not by any newly-found love for Iran and its people. With so much racism in France I won't be surprised if Marie Le pen ends up holding all the power cards.

Yes, I wonder who else has noticed there seems to be an oversupply of oil and prices are a little on the lighter side.

Not that I like Iran regime, but it is a bit more tough nut to crack than Libya.

With their domestic and foreign policies in tatters they're desperately trying to engineer a war against Iran which could probably set not only the region but the whole world into conflict. This the country that preaches democratic values to the rest of the world.

It wasn't long ago that this little Napoleonic clown was the cheer leader of sanctions against Iran the same kind of sanctions the West imposed on Iraq in the 1990s which resulted in the death of more than 1 million Iraqi children.

With a looming election Sarkozy will feel like a man with his head in the guillotine after France was downgraded by the rating agencies and forced him to introduce austerity measures. His statement on Iran is been dictated by the financial situation in France and not by any newly-found love for Iran and its people. With so much racism in France I won't be surprised if Marie Le pen ends up holding all the power cards.
