Kosovo has always been the poorest region within YU. Now it's the poorest region within Europe (except for Moldova). No private company will open any business in a corrupt state with an uncertain status, unqualified workforce and lack of infrastructure when there are better alternatives. It's a wrong perception that 'the west' can bring any jobs. Jobs are created by companies, not by states.
(Comm Parrisson, 12 January 2012 10:37)

My point is that as the west has fought for a fee and democratic Kosova then why leave their allies in such a terrible state? Surely their great US friends can bring a few industries to that region and create employment?

It’s actually countries or states that create the right conditions for companies to establish themselves though subsidies. Companies do not decide to move to a particular region unless it’s lucrative for them to do so. Unfortunately, “Jobs are created by companies, not by states” are only found in text books and never in real life.

But tell us how well the Albanians are going in Ksovo. How many industries have the west brought to that region? Has US steel opened up in Pristina?

"Now the reason. Yugoslavia was experiencing annual GDP growth rates of about 4-6%. THis was better than great britain, germany, france, and nearly the united states. This was all happening under a open socialist society. Salaries rivaled those in the USA. SO for that reason it had to be destroyed."

Yes, and because the Soviet Union was more advanced in the 60ths with their space operations, the USA faked the lunar landing, right? Find the proof on the internet, there's a lot of material about it :)

@Ivan, you are correct. A documentary called "The weight of chains" explains all this fully.
It's well worth seeing. Hoping all will see it and learn something from it.

Now let me get this straight. There are still some Serbs (29%) that STILL wish to join the sinking ship referred to as the EU??? Do you remember when Greek PM Papandrous was removed 2 months ago because he wished to have the Greeks vote on their future with a referendum? The EU couldn't have the Greeks vote against THEIR austerity and tax programs (which removed their own Greek sovereignty), so they replaced him with one of their Greek Eurocrats. A week later, the Eurocrats in Brussels weren't happy with Italy's PM Berlesconi and conveniently removed him. These ultra-powerful and un-elected Eurocrats (whose names and faces we'll never know) can change leaders and governments overnight. Does Serbia wish to lose it's national sovereignty and soul for 30 pieces of silver??? This IS REAL- wake up Serbia and stay strong- in spite of your politicians!!!

LOL. Some people seem to have a very short term memory. If there's one union that failed completely and miserably, it was YU. Okay, the Soviet Union failed as well, but at least they had politicians who were smart enough to split up in peace - unlike YU, exploding with a big bang and 100.000s of people (of all ethnicities/religious belief) being killed and expelled from their homes. What a great Union it must have been.

What are you laughing about? The Albanians thought Tito and Yugoslavia were the best thing since slice bread.

But tell us how well the Albanians are going in Ksovo. How many industries have the west brought to that region? Has US steel opened up in Pristina?

COMM PARR. Can you guess why it exploded? There are many documents on wikileaks that explain it. Have you bothered to read them before you made your expert analysis? Obviously not. See it was western powers from countries like yours. They sent in their filthy foreign operatives under a disguise called NED (National Endowment for Democracy. They were run by the CIA. Their mission was to promote separatist movement in Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia. Now the reason. Yugoslavia was experiencing annual GDP growth rates of about 4-6%. THis was better than great britain, germany, france, and nearly the united states. This was all happening under a open socialist society. Salaries rivaled those in the USA. SO for that reason it had to be destroyed.

I pray to god we do not get into the european union. What a disaster area. We will permanently be their slaves for cheap agriculture. WE had a great union, it was called Yugoslavia. We should concentrate on something like this, not a completely failed european union. Luckily the two economies actually growing in China and Russia want more involvement with us. I would definatly turn that way, much before i looked at the EU.

"The European Parliament has expressed serious concern over the situation in northern Kosovo and the violence that took place there in late 2011."

Isn't KFOR responsible for the situation in northern Kosovo? KFOR took responsibility for Kosovo in 1999.

In 2011 KFOR failed to gain trust and obtain good relationship with KSerbs in the North.

You should read related articles where both the US and Germany regret not giving Serbia candidate status. They are now afraid that anti-european forces are winning ground in Serbia and that they will reject EU integration. And you know what? They are right. As of now only 29 percent of serbs support EU membership. No membership, no deals with terrorist albanians. So its time you albs go back to the drawing board. Because your plan "EU for recognition" is failing, just like your so called "new born" freak for a state.

The EP added that this was being done “under the assumption that the Serbian authorities will by then fulfill the conditions determined at the EU leaders’ meeting in December 2011”.

The above statement explains everything.

The Serbian authorities are expected to “guarantee complete removal of the remaining barricades which would allow free access to crossings and the Serbian authorities are also urged to facilitate cooperation between Kosovo Serbs and KFOR and EULEX so they could implement their mandate”. That's the problem, the EULEX and KFOR are not implementing their mandates, which are supposed to be "Status Neutral". Once neutrality is practiced by these two western tools, maybe then the barricades can be removed. Get Pristina's little uniformed customs mouseketeers out of N. KiM, and we can start talking again. Screw Belgrade, they are not fighting for their lives, the Serbs in N. KiM are. They do not want to live under the oppression of Albanian rule.
