Yes Kosovo is multi-ethnic in a sense that different ethnic groups live in the same area, however Albanians have shown they do not want a multi-ethnic Kosovo after they burned down 150 Serbian Orthodox Churches, Killed between 2000-3000 Serbs,Roma,Bosniaks etc., and forced out over 250,000 Serbs,Roma,Bosniaks,Croats from Kosovo after the 1999 war. The Albanians to this day attack returnee families in Kosovo stoning and intimidating them. This stupid status quo in Kosovo is benefitting no one. Albanians and Serbs should just leave each other alone and let each other live the way they want to. Let the Albanians continue to function as if they were a "state" and let the Serbs return to their homes in Kosovo and keep Serbian institutions in their areas. Plain and simple give the Albanians what they want and the Serbs what they want! Agree to Disagree!

Of course Serbian institutions are going to remain in Northern Kosovo and the Southern Enclaves! Theyre one of the only two things that are solid proof that Kosovo is still an integral part of Serbia! As long as Serbia has its state organs and institutions functioning in Kosovo and as long as the Serbian people in Kosovo and Serbia do not give up on Kosovo then Kosovo is still a part of Serbia! Serbia has its health, legal, social, and enducational institutions fully functioning in all of the Serbian enclaves which are Northern Kosovo, Gracanica, Strpce, Novo Brdo, Partes, Klokot, Ranilug, Gorazdevac, and Velika Hoca. When a country has its state institutions fully functioning in a territory that it claims for itself, then im pretty sure that means its still a part of their country! Also id like to add that when the 200,000 Serbian Refugees from Kosovo return to their homes from Serbia Proper, the Serbia's State influence will be much greater in Kosovo since the Serbian population in Kosovo will be tripled after they move back and even cover alot more land. Imagine when they return how much more of Kosovo will be under Serbias control? As of right now 15-20% of Kosovo(Northern Enclaves and the Southern Enclaves)is under the institutions of Serbia, that percentage will be much greater when 200,000 Serbs move back to their homes and spread across Kosovo. Just look at this map which shows pretty much what its going to look like when they do return. Its the last ethnic map of Kosovo taken before the war. It is from 1991 and includes the 200,000 Serbs that left Kosovo. It is on the link below.

That's great... Those are good arguments that a multi-ethnic Kosovo is possible.

I have said it many years and I stick to it more than ever:
It is not possible to take a bit of a sovereign country against its will and suddenly make it independent. Period.

You want to check your history books their you "staff". Since time immemorial peoples have sought and indeed managed to break from their 'sovereign' nation and indeed made it work. One good example is Serbia iteself when it took .."a bit of a sovereign country against its will and suddenly make it independent." A quick reference to nations in Africa , Asia , Europe and the middle east are cases in point.

Heck , look at Slovenia and Croatia. Both have not only sought idependence but now have better living standards and are in fact better off independent as oppsed to having a non functioning Yugoslavia wrapped around their necks.

Seems you have forgotten that a peoples will to define their identity and govern their own destiny is historically a proven empirical fact. A fact that has been proven true time and again.

Wishful thinking and historical facts are not the same thing. They are not interchangable.

What?

Most of the K Albanians I talk to, (not in public and not when another K Albanian is listening), say that it was much better with Serbia. "Now we have nothing, can not travel, will never be let in to Europe". (They know that several countries in the EU will never give Kosovo entrance by itself. Take a look at below link and you will understand. The link is only 2 months old.)

Staff, of course it is possible. Finland was an autonomous province of Russia. It became independent against Russiad will. The Serb side is too absolutist in their belief system. The problem is that this belief system and absolutism has clearly been shown through examples to be wrong; but in order to believe so religiously and absolutely in sth the prerogative is to discount all logic and arguments that defy your belief system. The other problem is that this world of ours functions through the concept of relativity and this absolutist belief system characterizing the Serbs doesnt go well with it. When you turn sth into a myth and fetish you tend to view it in religiously absolute terms. This is the stage where you are now.

First of all, a good speach Tadic and a merry X-mas to all who celebrate it now.

I think this speach gives a very clear signal to the K Albanians that Kosovo has not and will not be a country by itself.
(Staff, 7 January 2012 21:04)

Don’t be concerned about that, dear. Albanians in Kosovo knew already that if it were for Tadic, Kosovo will not be a country by itself. Fortunately for them, Tadic only controls Serbia and not the rest of the world.
----------

After spending more than a decade in the Balkans and mainly Kosovo, almost everybody would agree that Kosovo has not moved an inch to the K Albanian side. Not an inch. There are more shops and malls built with black, criminal money and some more Suv´s for the rich people. But for the normal, everyday person it has not changed a bit. Most of the K Albanians I talk to, (not in public and not when another K Albanian is listening), say that it was much better with Serbia. "Now we have nothing, can not travel, will never be let in to Europe". (They know that several countries in the EU will never give Kosovo entrance by itself. (Staff, 7 January 2012 21:04)

Absolutely, you hit the point. When the majority of the Albanians think like your Albanian friends, Kosovo may form a common state with Serbia. If Serbs really love to live together in one country with Albanians they just need to do what you said – convince Albanians in Kosovo that it will be a much better life for them if they and the Serbs live in a common country.

Which proves that Vetevendosja is 100% right!!

tadic one more time came in Kosova in name for Xmas (why is he not staying home with his family as any normal person??) but in reality for his political campaign.

Israel would never allow Ahmendinejad to visit Al-Aqsa.

Kosova should never allow a Serbia president that wants and works in distruction of Kosova to make any visit in Kosova. Unitl Serbia does not recognize the sacred right of Kosovars to live in peace and dignity in their own land untill then Serbain institutions should not be allowed in Kosova.

You say this Tadic because neither you, nor KFOR and especially not the Albanians can't make the Serbs in the North give up on their institutions. But as if THAT is really your biggest problem, Serbia and the Serbian north. Albs, man up this year...find out who is the real reason your life is terrible. And its not Serbs.

"... but we do accept the position of all major powers that a division of Kosovo is not possible," said the Serbian president.

Sure a division/partition of Kosovo is possible. In fact, it would be the only lasting solution. It would only require the 'major powers' to admit that their idea has failed, and to give up the illusion that creating a democratic, multi-ethnic Kosovo is possible.
