Turkey jails former military chief over coup plot

What is happening in Turkey at the moment is the AKP portray themselves as the saviours of democracy while locking up their opponents. Not just the Generals but also journalists , academicians and several elected MPs. The AKP will appoint only cronies into government posts who share their neo-Islamist ideology and Ottoman ambition.

Despite its 99.8% Islamization rate(second only to unsecular Saudi Arabia) Mullah Erdogan and imam Davutoglou still claim that Turkey is a secular country.Yet today Turkey has more than 90000 active mosques and more than 100000 imams, more imams than doctors or teachers.

Erdogan’s relentless prosecution of the opposition reminds me Mustafa Kemal Pasha(the Turks stll refuse to make public the memoirs of Kamal’s wife Latife)who had all his invented opposition hanged. However,one has to give credit to Erdogan for cunningly playing the Generals game with the politicians over the last ten years and winning it without shedding a drop of blood.
