-The northern Kosovo issue is solved by changing the political climate in Belgrade, that is by avoiding "a rerun of the 90s policy, when Serbs from Croatia and Bosnia were pushed into war," he remarked. Serbia has to lead the northern Kosovo Serbs out of the year 1999, because they are still hostages of a policy ran from Belgrade, which continued to exist after Milošević's era, Jovanović stated.-

Continued to exist and continue to exist, ad nauseum. as always, cedi says it like it is, but the "patriots" don't wanna hear it, and wish to cast away all of their countrymen who disagree with their tired and evil policies to the "enemy." that's what they call democracy in serbia.

it must be such a rough position to be in, but cedi perseveres. he may not be a saint but he is the best of the djindjic govt (anyone remember him??), and a hero of the greatest proportions when compared to the dreck that makes up the current blgd regime. not to mention most of the opposition. keep it up, cedi!

As far as NATO occupying the entire Serbia I doubt that NATO had the appetitite to do it. NATO asked that roads be accessible so that it can supply its troops. But I see that this line is used by the serb nationalists as an argument against the Rambuillet accords.

LOL! Serb nationalists? It was James Bissett, the Canadian ambassador to Yugoslavia who made the claims. Why would NATO need access to Yugoslavia when supply lines could go through FYROM, Greece, etc??? Typical Western bullsh*t.

The Rambouillet annex was purposely added so that the Serbs would refuse. This was admitted by those involved such as Madeleine Albright. The purposely made it so heinous and never really wanted to occupy all of Serbia as it would have been too much to bite off - they were only interested in severing Kosovo. The State Department thinking was that if the Serbs refused and the Albanians agreed they could commence the bombing. And they really pushed the Albanians to agree as the Albanians had been balking and it was frustrating the Americans. Madeleine Albright showed up at the hotel door of the Albanian delegation and they tried to send her away because they thought she was a cleaning lady.

The tragic blunder in Kosovo by James Bissett, Canada's former ambassador to Yugoslavia

The immediate reason for the air strike was the Serbian refusal to sign the infamous Rambouillet Agreement -- a 57-page document that called for a referendum on autonomy in Kosovo and provided access to NATO forces to all of Yugoslavia. No sovereign state could possibly have accepted such conditions. This document was not made public until well after the bombing was under way. The chairman of the French National Assembly's defence committee did not receive a copy until June 3, after the Serbs had already accepted the terms of the ceasefire! I doubt any Canadian member of Parliament has bothered to request a copy. In any case, the Rambouillet document, drafted by the Americans, was clearly designed to ensure a Serb rejection. NATO needed its war.

Jeff, your statements are incredibly stupid. Of course the US wanted Milosevic to refuse Rambulett, what other excuse would they have had then to bomb Serbia? You are either ignorant, or just want to play the part - in either case, the US was very calculating in it's efforts with Milosevic - they wanted to bomb Serbia.

There are actually two clauses in Rambouillet that were unacceptable, one being complete access to all (occupation) of the then Yugoslavia and the second being the granting of independence to KiM after 3 years. Once the West capitulated and dropped these two clauses, UNSCR1244 was the end result that became acceptable to Milosevic.

As you can see, UNSCR1244 gets in the way of the US, Albanians and Germany. That's why they want to dispose of it, however, we will just patiently hold on until their time is up. Threats of isolation will only make us dig our heals even deeper.

History repeating. We always end up victorious.

Some of these comments resonating from the likes of Cedo, Tadic, Draskovic, and other sellouts, appear to be a breach of the Constitution. Should'nt these people be held liable for treason?
In other countries they would. I guess in Serbia betraying your
country and people is an acceptable practise.

I read your comment and I beg to disagree. Milosevic could not and did not agree to the 28K troops that NATO was demanding to deploy in Kosovo. As far as NATO occupying the entire Serbia I doubt that NATO had the appetitite to do it. NATO asked that roads be accessible so that it can supply its troops. But I see that this line is used by the serb nationalists as an argument against the Rambuillet accords. Either way Kosovo is lost and US made that clear to your leaders long ago. I am sincerely hoping that Nikolic and Kostunica will come to power as they will show the true face of Serbia. Tadic has been doing exactly what Kostunica and Nikoloc want him to do and yet he tells the world that he wants a decocratic Serbia. So indirectly he has caused a tremndous harm to Kosovo in its progress as an independent state.

I think Ceda needs to go read the actual "Austrian-style, July 1914" ultimatum given to the Serbs at Rambouillet so that he can refrain from making false claims that UNSC Res. 1244 was the delayed acceptance of that ultimatum. The ultimatum required that NATO forces be allowed to use all of the territory of FRY for basically whatever purpose they saw fit, with the added benefit of total immunity to boot. That is the main reason the ultimatum was rejected by the Serbs, and the "negotiators" knew that the demand would be unacceptable to a sovereign country just as the Austrians knew that Pasic and his government wouldn't accept Austrians investigating the assassination on Serbia's own soil.
Milosevic did not accept the "unacceptable" ultimatum in the end, even after 78 days of cruel and illegal bombing by the so-called "humanitarian interventionists".
Get you facts straight, Cedo, and stop your serial lying.
