This is not my idea, I was told by Albanians about it. Just FYI. And yes, I noticed the price difference. Except that what we ate in the States is mostly banned even in that part of Kosovo.

Stupid people still don't get it and there is quite smuggling of that crap into Central Serbia, it's mostly illegal even in Albanian part of Kosovo. It's probably something like committing a slow suicide and poison own family and friends. Good appetite!

If you look at Chavez, it doesn't seem he lived a healthy life. As many people pointed out, wrong food (and especially too much of it, too much fat, too much sugar, too much meat) increases the cancer risk.

Ataman, you make an interesting observation - American meat would be quite enough to eradicate these unfortunates over time. Animals are treated dreadfully in the US and consumed at an alarming rate. I've never been to South America, but wouldn't be surprised if Big Macs were popular there. Anyway, if the CIA had wanted to give all these Latin American leaders cancer, they would have made sure of giving them the lethal kind. Read the BBC article: all these people have thus far survived and supposedly been given good prognoses.

Winston, you'd probably fair better calling attention to the effects of depleted uranium left over from the Kosovo war than questioning the chemical composition of contrails over Serbia. And getting back to the subject Ataman raised -- meat -- B92 ran a story a few years back about the rise of colon cancer in Serbia due to the heavy consumption of meat in the Serbian diet. Not that I'm anything like an expert, but some pretty interesting studies have shown that animal proteins significantly increase the risk of cancer in people.

If you read the text, you'll see Chavez is not pointing the finger, he's merely saying its possible, similarly I would say "Its possible that 9/11 was a setup", but I'm not saying it is.

Also, when you see the kind of assasination plots the US tried against Castro (exploding cigars, Poisonous Sea Shells, ect), you would tend to agree with Chavez, what he said is quite possible.

Word-by-word it is of course a total stupidity and Chavez is not the most intelligent guy on the Planet Earth. But if you buy eggs, look at the stamp or mark on the egg. At least in Europe if the first number is zero, it supposed to mean that the hens are freely roaming and if it's "three" than the egg is straight from the chicken factory. "1" and "2" are the stages in-between. In the States you want to buy from verified source. Otherwise pick your own cancer or what-not.

I don't think we are vigilant enough but at least we keep looking. And if not cancer, than you may like the heart-related issues, there is than neat thing sold inside of most chocolate in Europe called "vegetable fat", if you see that, steer clear from it. At least in the States it's luckily very unpopular lately, is AFAIK banned from any restaurant in NY for instance. Most European candies are full of that crap, just to take people closer to infarct which is not less deadly than a cancer.

As for Cuba.... yes, here is one thing we should not forget: due embargo it is one of the regions the least affected by the excesses of the food industry.

All we should probably do is to follow "less is more" - and buy less food but from controlled and trusted (by us!) source as much as we can. There could well be something in Chavez’s claims. I recall the Albanians super hero Bill Clinton, when President, offering a group of surviving African Americans WW2 Veterans a full apology because their country had carried out certain experiments on them without their knowledge and it was just by a coincidence that the vast majority died from some forms of cancer.
This was a freedom loving democratic believing in human rights US of A carrying out experiments on Negros because they were expendable unlike the whites.
