"Only SNS-DS agreement on Kosovo counts"

Tomislav Nikolić has said that any stance on Kosovo "that does not include agreement between the (ruling) DS and the SNS" - does not count.

one could hope that the EU would become the stonchest supporter of the rights of the Serbs in Kosovo. On paper thay have all the rights they need.

KFOR/EULEX/EU strategy is not to get involved into conflict with the KLA/Albanian authority, so they won't risk to support KSerbs' rights. If it had been their task of the first priority, they would have made steps to archieve it.

Any attempt to protect KSerbs' rights in Kosovo would make KFOR/EULEX/EU do what Serbian Army was doing there, because KAlbs would resist it.

"What's thisWith the way the EU/US policy is for the Balkans, you are correct, Nik. But Serbia certainly does not need to recognize an independent Albanian Kosovo - it can recognize a shared Serbian/Albanian Kosovo"

If Serbia wants to join the EU it does not need to recognize ALBANIAN Kosovo. It needs to realize that Kosovo coulde NOT remain a part of Serbia (notwithstanding resolution 1244). Once this claim is given up, once the plans to divide Kosovo stop, one could hope that the EU would become the stonchest supporter of the rights of the Serbs in Kosovo. On paper thay have all the rights they need. Serbian is officiAL LANGUAGE IN kOSOVO ETC. Of course the Serbs have reasons not to turst the Prishtina government and the EU but unless they want to drag all of Serbia into a prolonged agony that have to give it a try!

The former Yugoslav countries are geologicaly European. RIGHT???. Most neighbouring countries joined EU (European Union), others are on the race to its candidacy. Where does this leave Serbia and Bosnia etc, etc?? What's there continent? Its a different meaning between EU (Europe Unite) and EU (Euopean Union). Its all politics "Beating About The Bush". So when the present EU (European Union) collapses we hope for a better EU (Europe Unite)........

With the way the EU/US policy is for the Balkans, you are correct, Nik. But Serbia certainly does not need to recognize an independent Albanian Kosovo - it can recognize a shared Serbian/Albanian Kosovo. Would that not be more fair anyway, considering both peoples have been there for centuries (please no Illyrian arguments). Serbia needs at this point in time, stand strong, and show the West it will not buckle under - please Mr. Tadic, do not allow this. The EU is changing rapidly, and maybe by the end of next year, it may look like a totally different place. The EU race the DS engaged in is over. That place is gone. So I say once again, Serbia, stand strong, and allow the highest bidder to come to you, not you to them. CCCC

Pristina's politicians are murderers in the real sense, and Belgrade's politicians are murderers in the social sense. You all stink in BG government. You have only lined your own pockets, and nothing else. How do you creeps sleep at night? Karma will catch up with you, and you should be nervous.

Nikolic and the SNS, another old leftover political hack and party from the "good old communist days". Can you guys ever hang it up? PLEASE, get out of the way, and give Serbia a chance to breathe and move forward. This includes many Serbian government members: Dacic, Dinkic, Jovanovic, Kostunica, Draskovic, Palma, the old hack running infrastructure, and on and on. Please go away. You are doing ZERO for Serbia. By the looks of your clothes, your vehicles, villas, restaurants, and God knows what other enterprises, you have lined your own pockets quite well. When is enough, enough? Politicians today, in most countries, do little but help themselves, but Serb politicians have gone way beyond their time limits.

If Serbia wanted to join the EU it had to recognize (the loss of) Kosovo long time ago. Had it done it it could have joined together with Croatia. If Serbia chooses was not to recognize Kosovo (and hope for some future development that could advance the Serbian cause there) then it should not put too much hope on the integration process and not be surprised by the delay.
It is a clear choice and Serbs nust make it at this elections. The fantasy that Serbia could keep (its claims on) Kosovo and join the EU are unrealistic and must be abandoned.
