Haha, funny indeed. Maybe they should simplify certain things from now on: Happy Red Egg Day is in Spring and the "other day" is in December.

But give the guy some slack. With you Serbs celebrating Christmas in January it gets a bit all confusing.

But it matters a great deal. The people Thaci is wishing happy Christmas to are aware what day it is and what it is. The world is not Albanian and as a "leader" he should be mindful of what he says to whom.
If he didn't care then he should've not put anything up on his site. This has made him look like a goose and anyone who defends him.

You are right, of course nobody can know and care about everything, that's not a problem. But then, it has always been a good strategy to keep a low profile on things you don't have a clue about and keep your mouth shut instead of opening it only to release nonsense and confusion, and making yourself a clown.

Dear Peggy
The link below takes you to one of the issues of the newspaper of the albanian orthodox church.
http://www.orthodoxalbania.org/images/pdf06/janar%202006.pdf
On page 8, at the bottom left, words "krishtlindje" and "pashka e vogel" are in the same paragraph. The very short translation is: "...the feast of Christmas that is called "Small (Little) Pashka" in popular language...". Again, it doesn't matter. Thaci or any politician for that matter do not care.

kris

Ladies and Gentlemen
For an atheist like Thaci, everything religious related is confusing. You're spending too much time on something he doesn't care about, being Christian or Muslim related. Go and do something else, please.

When you know where all the bodies are buried and where all the drugs are going, you don't have to try very hard. Christmas is when Christians celebrate Jesus's birth and Easter marks Jesus's death and resurrection. There is a huge difference and anyone who cared to show favor to believers would take the trouble to know what they are talking about.
(Paul, 25 December 2011 22:36)
As a Christian I am not offended but then I am not looking for sommething to make him look bad either. Do you know the meaning behind the Muslim or Jewish holidays? I don't, I have wished people Happy Hannukah and just know it is a Jewish holiday but I don't know the meaning.
But in reality you know that there is a very small chance that he is the one who actually did the posting don't you. He probably wrote the message in Albanian and some flunky probably translated and posted on the website, apparently the error was caught very quickly.

But B92, Thaci isn't "Kosovo's Prime Minister" that title does not exist in reality. He's just the puppet figurehead of the occupation of Serbia's religious capital that has since turned into a heaven for extracted kidneys and child sex slaves.

Avni

pre 12 godina

Don't both holidays celebrate Christ's birthday? By the way nothing is wrong with Thaci, but with two Christian celebrations. Roman Catholics and Orthodox Christians or should I say Sunnis and Shia's should celebrate one day not two. They should choose New Year's Eve as Christ's birthday.

Ataman, you're out of touch with reality. May Christmas bless you with some tolerance and a sense of joy! You need to believe that life can be better! It's all in your head.
Happy Christmas!

Armed with that knowledge it was bestowed upon him to lead a new multi ethnic Kosovo. One less suit could have paid for a proof reader at least.

Kenny

pre 12 godina

Neat source you got there, B92. But fair enough, at least its good to see that KiM Radio likes to lurk their prime ministers website for news about Kosovo. Its what every Kosovar (wether they are Albanian, Serb, etc.) should do. :)

Ataman

pre 12 godina

"Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci has wished “a happy Easter” to the Catholic Church and all Catholics in Kosovo, instead of whishing them a merry Christmas."

#1: He is not only Prime Minister of KosovA Republic, he is also the Supreme Ruler of Planet Naboo. B92 should correct the mistake.

#2: As much as Cathilics in KosovA could be disappointed, I am sure it's not a very bad news because next time 110% instead of 130% of them will vote for Hashish Baksheesh Thaçi bácsi. Actually not "bácsi" (Uncle) but Godfather. But he will be fine regardless because Godfathers know how to handle such situations.

PM... of what? My granma would say: "профессор кислых щей" (professor of sour shchee). Except that sour shchee is more healthy for you than hashish. You Poles put more "cékla" in that shchee than it needs to be there and call is "borsht". I like both shchee and borsht - but I am not a fan of hashish yet.

I'm an albanian orthodox. I practice my religion very fervently. For old people, the word used for both Easter and Christmas is Pashka. "Pashka e madhe" or "big pashka" is Easter, "pashka e vogel" or "small pashka" is Christmas. In Albanian, there was no error.
Happy Christ's birth to everybody.

So you saw this in Albanian then. Which Pashka did he mean and can you provide us with the transcript in Albanian please. I would like to see it for myself as obviously other news outlets have seen it and translated it "wrong".

Peggy

pre 12 godina

. Again, it doesn't matter. Thaci or any politician for that matter do not care.
(kris, 26 December 2011 17:46)
========================

Peggy

pre 12 godina

It could have been an error/lapsus from his staff. So what? Shoot him/her? Is that what you Serbs think?
(EA, 26 December 2011 14:25)

NO, we are happy to laugh at him for now.

kris

One more thing.
George Bush called greeks Grecians and Obama thinks that people in Austria speak Austrian. Do you think everybody cares about being incorrect on some feasts that only we Christians care? Don't waste more time please, go and comment on other news on this website, but don't waste your time with this NOT NEWS. May Christ bless anybody here!

Peggy

For an atheist like Thaci, everything religious related is confusing. You're spending too much time on something he doesn't care about, being Christian or Muslim related. Go and do something else, please.

You are right, of course nobody can know and care about everything, that's not a problem. But then, it has always been a good strategy to keep a low profile on things you don't have a clue about and keep your mouth shut instead of opening it only to release nonsense and confusion, and making yourself a clown.

Peggy

@Kris, that mistake between Austrian and Australian is here for you to read. I forgot to include it in the last post.

Haha, funny indeed. Maybe they should simplify certain things from now on: Happy Red Egg Day is in Spring and the "other day" is in December.

But give the guy some slack. With you Serbs celebrating Christmas in January it gets a bit all confusing.
