Serbs in Kosovo are being denied their fundamental human rights
(Aleks, 23 December 2011 15:10)

For some reason almost nobody in the world is concerned about the above. The possible explanations are two; (1) Almost all the world is stupid and can't understand that Serbs in Kosovo are being denied their fundamental rights; or (2) Serbs in Kosovo have not been doing a good job of explaining it.

(Ivan, 23 December 2011 21:30) "

You nailed it Ivan!

You said: "This is like buying a pie, and then somebody come and takes it from you."

Milosevic came to power, suspended Kosovo's self-rule, and told the Serbs to do whatever they want in Kosovo (gave them their pie). As a result, they terminated the employment all the Kosovo Albanians from public institutions, kicked the Kosovo Albanian children from public schools, and redirected all the funds to their police state in Kosovo. The police were authorized to rob any Albanian person in Kosovo, without any problem. It went as far as them taking my lunch money from me on my way to school in 1990...

Then, after 10 years of this, the world saw what was going on, intervened and restored civility. The police (and unfortunately the army) took as much as they could from Kosovo as they were retreating in 1999. Their final burglary included hundreds of trucks full of TV's, VCR's, fridges, washing machines, dishwashers, stereo systems, cameras, and so on, that were stolen from Albanian homes and sold in the black market in Serbia...

Well, this was not the big deal, those things can be replaced. The bodies of around 3000 Kosovars who are still missing is the problem... they cannot be replaced!

Then you continued:

"After a while they offer you a piece and then wonder why you are not happy with that. RIDICULOUS"

Yes, they are offering you more than anything that Serbia offered to Kosovo... Your own schools, your own police, your own taxation system, and then you refuse. Do you want to go back to your police state where you were able to step on another human being, deny them every right, and still get away with it? Is this what the Irredentists in the Northern Kosovo want?

Well, they won't get it!

Ivan also said:

"If somebody moves into your house and tells you to live in the basement, are you going to accept that?"

Who moved in here Ivan? Tell me, who? The only people that moved into the Kosovo in the last 100 years were the Serb colonists from Serbia, after the Ottoman Empire retreated. They were given free land, free homes, just to change the ethnic make-up of Kosovo... Now where did this land come from? That brings us to the next question, which is:

Who moved out? It was hundreds of thousands of Albanians, who live now in Turkey, forcefully expelled by the Serbs after 1913.

Now spare me from the BS claims that Tito let Albanians come in from Albania. That is pure crap. No such thing ever happened. All the Albanians that EVER came to Kosovo from Albania during the Tito years were evicted to Italy, Belgium, and eventually ended up in the United States and Canada.

Until a collective catharsis from the zealous ultra nationalist poisoning that has penetrated Serbia in the last twenty-five years is performed, no one will want to live with you!

LOL every group has a quisling. That he's not even considering "Ahtisaari Plus" shows how out of touch he is with his fellow Serbs. Maybe he should go to Gracanica to see how integrated the Serbs there are with his precious Pristina government before he speaks BS about some great ideas for the north :)

Why should serbs be so quick to dismiss Petrovic? I have to give him some due being a Serb and working in Pristina. I can only imagine what he puts up with. At least this guy is telling us what he thinks realistically could work.

One of the problems for Serbs in all these talks is that there is no united position or strategy. All I hear is vagueness coming from the govt and a whole bunch of meaningless wind coming from certain nationalists.

These technical talks between Belgrade and Pristina as well as the barricade removal in north Kosovo should all be happening under the scope of strategy. Going forward what is it that the Serbian govt wants in northern Kosovo or in all of Kosovo for that matter? What does that movie look like when you fast forward in a few years?

Nicholas Klinsman

pre 12 godina

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Petrovic. It can't be easy having to work in Pristina being a Serb. I can only imagine what kinds of humiliations he has to put up with.

Our Serbian goals should be looking toward a better future. At this point I still don't know the official Serbian govt position on what it wants for Northern Kosovo or for all of Kosovo for that matter? What does that movie look like when we fast forward from here?

Slobodan Petrović is right. You see, there are Serbs who 'woke up' and understood that independent Kosovo is their future. pssssssssssss...

Just ignore him. Tell me who is your friend and I'll tell who really you are...Hmmm, Thaci!?

Aleks

"He added that the local Serbs should not miss this chance."

Or what? He will preside over the ethnic cleansing of the remaining serbs whilst he and his family are 'protected' by Thaci?

Serbs in Kosovo are being denied their fundamental human rights regardless of what is written on the western piece of paper. Western 'promises' and 'agreements' have consistently been broken or 'reinterpreted'. This is more bs from bs central.

For there to be an end to the conflict in Kosovo, there is no way the North will accept rule from Pristina. The fact is the North borders Central Serbia and has absolutely no reason to agree to Pristina rule. If you were to give Gracanica and Strpce high autonomy from Pristina then that is already a more realistic solution.

Keep in mind however, nothing will lead to a permanent peace in the region..but this at least would quiet things down for maybe 5-8 years. There wont be permanent peace until one side wins everything.

It just goes how gullible the Albanians are. Their living conditions are down right laughable, corruption runs rampant and yet Albanians come on here telling Serbs who completely border the rest of Serbia that they have to be ruled by heroin dealers and organ snatchers just because they say so?

If you were educated you would see this is all a ruse to cover your eyes at your own people and to blame Serbs for your troubles. You want everything, you are way too greedy. At a time where you can at least take what you are already living on from such a weak Euro subservient quasi govt in Belgrade..you keep pushing until people are left with nothing but violent nationalism.

“I am in the position to see how the citizens in the north lose their investments, not only from the Kosovo government but also from the international community as well" Petrovic. Hahaha, what investments from the Kosovo government? The Serbs in N. KiM don't need drug and human trafficking, thank you. And if the international community wanted to invest in KiM, it would have done so by now. What have they done, but give the Albanians a beggar's handout? Their are already plenty of clowns touting the EU's merits, Petrovic, without you too trying to sell this floundering ship.

“I am in the position to see how the citizens in the north lose their investments, not only from the Kosovo government but also from the international community as well, and therefore we need to mobilize funds for our citizens there in order to realize the planned projects,” he stated.

It would be better to realize that there are no investment projects in whole Kosovo except for the ones financed by international donor money. These are the ones where a good percentage of the money goes straight into the pockets of Thaci's buddies. Besides that, no serious international company would even think of investing in such a corrupt, criminal and unstable place. Kosovo needs to clean itself first and adapt to European standards instead of the current African ones, only then it will have a future.
