I'm Catholic and I want to say a big "Merry Christmas" to all Orthodox Christians. I hope your Christmas on January 7 is full of peace and good health.
(Catherine, 22 December 2011 21:33)

Thank you Catherine and may you have a very merry Christmas and a very happy new year. We all celebrate Christmas on 25 December it’s just that the followers of the Orthodox faith adhere to the Julian calendar and our 25 December falls on 7 January according to the Gregorian calendar.

I would like to wish all of you, a Merry Christmas and a peaceful, prosperous and happy New Year. As a catholic I will celebrate mine on 25 December with my parents and my brother and on 7 January with my Serbian friends. My liver will need to take a vacation in the new year.

Avni,

You made a complete fool of yourself lol.

Anyway, this was a nice message from this Archbishop. Merry Christmas to everyone regardless of what day you celebrate it.

Avni, it's not an issue, but for the record, I can personally attest that Orthodox friends have always wished me Merry Christmas on my date (24-25 Dec.), and I have always tried to remember to wish them Merry Christmas on theirs. The only difference between us at this time of year is the date of our saviour's birth, and that means that on these dates there's actually no difference between us at all. Christ is born. Peace on earth, and good will to all.
