Merkel's government should keep its spending up to support the narco state of Albanian Kosovo - that's good for their economy. Apparently the German peoples' taxes are well spent there. How can I explain to you shortly? The main goal of your forefather one century before in Balkanic wars was not Kosova “Old Serbia” but Adriatic Sea. Now you erase this from your memory and still believe at “Kosovo is Serbia”. Now the problem is that you are not fighting for something real or justice, but for your pride. You don’t accept to yourself that you had been lied for on century and had sacrificed for one century for one big lie like “Kosova”, like “Chemical Weapons”. After reading the Serbs post here, comes to my mind two ideas. This Serbs or are 1)cynic people or are 2)brainwashed people I see that they are pretending justice. I see that they are pretending to be patriot. I believe that this kind of people is not cynic. Seeing that they deny the ethnic cleansing that Serbia acted 10 years before, not only against Albanians, I think that most of them are brainwashed people. And with brainwashed people is difficult to convince them for contrary. I’ve seen this with Albanian communists. The problem that I have with Serbs is that they for Kosova are brainwashed from one century. As many of them are against USA I’ll make an example for them.

First of all, Serbs need to realize that Russia will never offer Serbia any serious aid in their quest to keep Kosovo. Russia does not care about anyone enough to jeopardize their economic ties with the EU and US.
Second realization the Serbs need to make, is that Germany does not want Serbia in the EU for various reasons but mostly because of the current economic state of the union and how far behind Serbia is financially than any of the other member states. Even if Serbia surrenders Kosovo, Germany will come up with some new unattainable requisite for the Serb membership.
Although EU membership would open up Serbia for more international investment, on the long term, Serbia with its generous social programs and low productivity would eventually become the next Greece, deeply indebted with no means to pay off its loans.
So Serbs, since EU membership is unlikely, maybe it’s time to make a move for Kosovo. Since the EULEX is not holding up their promise of neutrality on Kosovo, perhaps it’s time for Serbia to militarily reoccupy the northern Serb dominated territories of Kosovo. This would also send a message for future EU/US aspirations to further partition Serbia.

Very interesting to read very often the hope of Serbs, especially those of Diaspora that political change in West will affect their foreign policy. Didn’t they learn that foreign policy in West is in long-term and don’t depend too much form the ruling coalition. I remember the hopes of Serbs when Bush was going and Obama was coming. Especially when you think that West in Kosova has done the uncial War in Europe after WWII. Only Apocalyptic changes can change the approach of West for Kosova.
More realistic dream is that of East surpassing West (but even that is a dream) anyway nobody can deny the dreams of peoples but “wishes don’t wash dishes”.
Till this dream comes true you have only one option to work for EU path.
Just wait until Serbia has it's hand on the Natural Gas valve that is directed towards Germany.

You mean this dubious dream-project South-Stream? Sorry to disappoint you, but did you ever hear of North Stream? Unlike South stream, this pipeline is already operational (one pipeline out of two), and Germany was smart enough and learned its lessons: The result is to have a direct pipeline build through the Baltic sea between Russia and Germany, bypassing all unreliable transit countries and ensuring gas supply for western Europe without blackmailing.

Should that hand attempt to disrupt cash flow to Russia and I am sure it will very abruptly be amputated. Do you really think Russia is going to let any of the countries that the pipeline flows through to control the valves?? You are extremely naive if you do. There will be many supply routes to EU so if one is down the others will pick up the slack.

Correct. It should be clear for everyone that in case Serbia will become an EU member, it will be without Kosovo. Just as it should be clear that Kosovo itself will never become an EU unless the 5 member states recognize this entity. This will only happen after a mutual agreed solution is found, these 5 members will never agree to accept a country unilaterally created based on a self-declaration by an ethnic minority.
But the two things are separate: Serbia can still insist on UN1244 and not recognize Kosovo, regardless of its EU access.
Really and truly was this news to anyone. It could not be. Everyone that has stated that it was NOT necessary for Serbia to recognize Kosovo has said but Serbia must establish good relations with its neighbors and with 22 of the 27 countries recgnizing Kosovo as an independent country, what did you think that meant.

Again, IMHO people react rather to nowadays population dynamics (negative for Serbs, who have been gradualy leaving Kosovo for several centuries, pushed by KAlbanians), than to old history. People usually brought history when it is connected with their nowadays life.
Merkel is a rabid German pushing the old German foreign policy that created this mess. They aided and abetted the terrorists that propagated this war.
Drug smugglers from Kosovo should be escorted through Serbia to the EU, since the majority support this narco state (no stopping in Serbia though.
Serbia should continue to improve its relations with non-EU countries, including Russia, Brazil, China and India. At this point, the Stabilization Agreement is enough and all it will get in the coming decade. It should do its best to build its industries and support quality products for non-EU countries. Merkel's government should keep its spending up to support the narco state of Albanian Kosovo - that's good for their economy. Apparently the German peoples' taxes are well spent there. Merkel should travel there weekly at tax payer expense.
Not just Merkel, but every country that recognized Kosovo "wants Serbia to surrender Kosovo".That is the reality that Serbia faces. Merkel just wants for this issue to be over with so that everyone can move on... It is up to Serbs to decide what is in their best interest!

How can I explain to you shortly? The main goal of your forefather one century before in Balkanic wars was not Kosova “Old Serbia” but Adriatic Sea. Now you erase this from your memory and still believe at “Kosovo is Serbia”. Now the problem is that you are not fighting for something real or justice, but for your pride. You don’t accept to yourself that you had been lied for on century and had sacrificed for one century for one big lie like “Kosova”, like “Chemical Weapons”. No dear, you are sacrificed for Adriatic sea, and American soldiers are sacrificed for the Oil. The difference is that Americans get the oil and you didn’t get the Adriatic Sea. Accept the fact that you were not the big fish and Albanian the small one and is finished. PEACE!

If there is one sentence that so encompasses the paranoia and credulity of some Serbs I would like to see it. It is always the fault of others, never of say Yugoslavs. Its this attitude that broke up Yugoslavia, then led to the terrible eviction of Serbs from Krajina and finally led to the loss of Kosovo (though in a demographic sense it was lost long ago). It can't always be the fault of others
And the German elections are taking place sometime next year and changes are Merkel will no longer be in power in order to preach to all of Europe!

Very interesting to read very often the hope of Serbs, especially those of Diaspora that political change in West will affect their foreign policy. Didn’t they learn that foreign policy in West is in long-term and don’t depend too much form the ruling coalition. I remember the hopes of Serbs when Bush was going and Obama was coming. Especially when you think that West in Kosova has done the uncial War in Europe after WWII. Only Apocalyptic changes can change the approach of West for Kosova.
More realistic dream is that of East surpassing West (but even that is a dream) anyway nobody can deny the dreams of peoples but “wishes don’t wash dishes”.
Till this dream comes true you have only one option to work for EU path.
Really and truly was this news to anyone. It could not be. Everyone that has stated that it was NOT necessary for Serbia to recognize Kosovo has said but Serbia must establish good relations with its neighbors and with 22 of the 27 countries recgnizing Kosovo as an independent country, what did you think that meant.
Anyone want to explain to me how Serbia could think otherwise. NO ONE has ever said Serbia can come inside while still claiming Kosovo as its province. Serbia's entire package presented to the EU so far whether with the SAA, visa liberalization, questionaire for assention, has been sans Kosovo.
If after all that the people of Serbia still thinks it could just show up at the door and say here we are, we want in and this is our province Kosovo, maybe a little more expenditure on an education system that would bring it up to European standards are in order.
Is Merkel absolutely crazy to think she can just tell Serbia to take away Serbian schools teaching the Serbian language and learning about Serbian culture in Serbia??
She is basically trying to say... any Serb living in Kosovo must now stop being Serbian and start being a Kosovar, lol.

Should that hand attempt to disrupt cash flow to Russia and I am sure it will very abruptly be amputated. Do you really think Russia is going to let any of the countries that the pipeline flows through to control the valves?? You are extremely naive if you do. The Serbs may have to enjoy a very cold winter to learn their lesson but I am sure it will be a lesson well learned. There will be many supply routes to EU so if one is down the others will pick up the slack.

After reading the Serbs post here, comes to my mind two ideas. This Serbs or are 1)cynic people or are 2)brainwashed people I see that they are pretending justice. I see that they are pretending to be patriot. I believe that this kind of people is not cynic. Seeing that they deny the ethnic cleansing that Serbia acted 10 years before, not only against Albanians, I think that most of them are brainwashed people. And with brainwashed people is difficult to convince them for contrary. I’ve seen this with Albanian communists. The problem that I have with Serbs is that they for Kosova are brainwashed from one century. As many of them are against USA I’ll make an example for them.
Imagine an American soldier that has gone to Iraq war to find Chemical Weapons. He wounded and fall asleep for 20 years. When he awake up can somebody explain to him that never has been chemical weapon in Iraq. If he to know the truth, this will be a disaster for his moral.
The Serbs from 1912 goes to war for Kosova for 3 times, because to them was told that Kosova is Old Serbia, the Jerusalem of Serbia ect.ect. Can anybody from Serbs elite have the courage to say them that this are fabricated story to send Serb soldier in war for Kosova. Correct. It should be clear for everyone that in case Serbia will become an EU member, it will be without Kosovo. Just as it should be clear that Kosovo itself will never become an EU unless the 5 member states recognize this entity. This will only happen after a mutual agreed solution is found, these 5 members will never agree to accept a country unilaterally created based on a self-declaration by an ethnic minority.
But the two things are separate: Serbia can still insist on UN1244 and not recognize Kosovo, regardless of its EU access.
First of all, Serbs need to realize that Russia will never offer Serbia any serious aid in their quest to keep Kosovo. Russia does not care about anyone enough to jeopardize their economic ties with the EU and US.
Second realization the Serbs need to make, is that Germany does not want Serbia in the EU for various reasons but mostly because of the current economic state of the union and how far behind Serbia is financially than any of the other member states. Even if Serbia surrenders Kosovo, Germany will come up with some new unattainable requisite for the Serb membership.
Although EU membership would open up Serbia for more international investment, on the long term, Serbia with its generous social programs and low productivity would eventually become the next Greece, deeply indebted with no means to pay off its loans.
So Serbs, since EU membership is unlikely, maybe it’s time to make a move for Kosovo. Since the EULEX is not holding up their promise of neutrality on Kosovo, perhaps it’s time for Serbia to militarily reoccupy the northern Serb dominated territories of Kosovo. This would also send a message for future EU/US aspirations to further partition Serbia.

Ah, and I always thought it was all plotted by the US of A, only because they wanted to create this totally important base called 'Camp Bondsteel' in the region, the hugest military base in the world and to secure the natural resources worth some fantastillions located in Kosovo :)
Its amazing to me that the 3 countries that killed the most human beings on earth act as the worlds moral compass. England = colonized the world and pillaged its wealth, Germany = murder of 6 million jewish believers, U.S. detinated 2 atomic bombs kill hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians and not to mention the countless other "wars for democracy" from Korea to Vietnam to Yugoslavia to Iraq(2) to Afganistan to Iran(?).

I don't believe Tadic or his sell-outs as the "no alternative to EU" policy has always been flawed, however, this is encouraging news. I truly hope Serbia never joins the EU, and that Germany will block it. Also, no Serbia in the EU means no "Kosova" in the EU either.

At the end of the day when it comes to the EU, Germany really has two options - either save itself and lose the EU or everyone goes down together. This is history repeating and an opportunity will be presented for the East to come along and own this part of the world. A bailout with many strings attached.

You mean this dubious dream-project South-Stream? Sorry to disappoint you, but did you ever hear of North Stream? Unlike South stream, this pipeline is already operational (one pipeline out of two), and Germany was smart enough and learned its lessons: The result is to have a direct pipeline build through the Baltic sea between Russia and Germany, bypassing all unreliable transit countries and ensuring gas supply for western Europe without blackmailing.

Why didn't Germany surrender any of its territory to create a jewish homeland after the horrendous murder of 6 million jewish civilians during WWII? They instead helped to give away someone elses land. Its ironic that they are trying to give away someone elses land once again.

I so hope your EU falls apart, Ms. Merkel. It is constantly on life support, but the day will come soon when all the resuscitation will have no effect. Who the hell gave you authority to demand something of another sovereign nation? Is it because you have a strong military behind you? I hate to go back into history, but are you trying to complete a project that Hitler wasn't able to achieve? Sure looks that way.
