That must be propaganda by the West to make Serbs look bad. Serbs never get involved in illegal activities.
(metrod, 21 December 2011 03:51)

Don't you see the difference: Of course there are big Serbian drug mafia clans. Nobody denies it. The difference to Kosovo is: In Serbia the police and state organs are fighting them, in Kosovo, they are turning a blind eye on them, protecting them or even cooperate with them or the state officials belong to the same clan as the mafia bosses. That's the problem, and that's why Kosovo is often called a 'mafia state'.

Here is a copy and paste from EUROPOL EU ORGANISED CRIME THREAT ASSESSMENT 2011 not the 90s. Some of you people with your childish comments need to grow up.

Europol Assessment
The Western Balkan a hub for drug trafficking
2011-08-07
The Hague – 05.04.2011- The Western Balkan region is a hub for drug trafficking to and from the EU, announced European Union police agency in “EU ORGANISED CRIME THREAT ASSESSMENT 2011”. “Albanian speaking groups are active in the fields of cocaine, heroin, synthetic drug and cannabis trafficking. The financial resources of these groups have enabled them to interact with criminal organisations in source areas for illicit drugs, as well as to proactively identify new criminal opportunities. Some of their proceeds are reportedly destined for support organisations for the former Kosovo Liberation Army”, stated Europol.

“By way of example, container shipments of cocaine transit the South West, North West and Southern criminal hubs, are subsequently offloaded in Montenegrin ports, and are then routed back to distribution markets in the EU”.

"Of all the hubs, the south east has seen the greatest expansion in recent years, as a result of increased trafficking via the Black Sea, proliferation of numerous Balkan routes for illicit commodities to and from the EU, and a significant increase in illegal immigration via Greece. These developments in the region have contributed to the formation of a Balkan axis for trafficking to the EU," the study says.

Read complete report:

http://www.europol.europa.eu/publications/European_Organised_Crime_Threat_Assessment_%28OCTA%29/OCTA_2011.pdf

“Heroin from Turkey and cocaine from Latin America are stockpiled here before being transported to the EU, and cannabis for EU consumption is cultivated in the region. Acetic anhydride and synthetic drugs from the EU travel in the opposite direction by the same route.

The continued prominence of the Western Balkans in heroin trafficking, despite the existence of more direct routes through South East Europe and, indeed, the fact that traffic must leave the EU in order to enter these countries, points to the existence of substantial criminal logistics in the region. By way of example, container shipments of cocaine transit the South West, North West and Southern criminal hubs, are subsequently offloaded in Montenegrin ports, and are then routed back to distribution markets in the EU. Multinational criminal groups assembled on the basis of ethnicity are concentrated in the Kosovo region, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Albania in particular. There has been a notable increase in the involvement in heroin and cocaine trafficking of citizens of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.

With the South East criminal hub the Western Balkans forms a larger Balkan axis across which a variety of illicit commodities are trafficked. The convergence of numerous routes from the Balkan and Black Sea regions has created a bottleneck to the North and West, and consequently Hungary is emerging as a repackaging and transit zone for both heroin and cocaine. Any further expansion of illicit drug trafficking via these routes is likely to result in a greater concentration of criminal logistics in Hungary”.

Thank you both for providing us with these links and excerpts from western (not Serbian) intelligence/police reports.

Especially this: "Through the key players—for example Thaci, Haliti, Haradinaj—there is the closest interlink between politics, the economy and international organized crime in Kosovo. The criminal organizations in the background there foster political instability. They have no interest at all in the building of a functioning orderly state that could be detrimental to their booming business.” explains a lot why the situation in Kosovo is like it is. They simply need this unstable-limbo state of Kosovo as a base for their 'business'. This cannot work in a law-abiding, democratic state with functioning legal structures.

Eh yes, of course, all this news about the albanian crime nexus is made up. Even EUROPOL is lying in their OCTA (Organised Crime Threat Assessment reports) that can be found here:

"The Balkan routes exhibit a high degree of diversity and flexibility: heroin consignments cross the Adriatic after transiting Greece, proceed via Bulgaria and Romania through central Europe or enter the Western Balkans, which have been a key trans-shipment area for many years. Albania, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and the Kosovo region, in particular, are important locations for storage and repackaging. The Kosovo region is also a base for Albanian speaking groups active in trafficking to the EU. Acetic anhydride, destined for
production areas, also transits the region. Because of its location at the convergence of the Balkan and Black Sea routes, Hungary has emerged as a trans-shipment point for both heroin and its precursors.

Turkish and Albanian-speaking criminal groups remain the most prominent in Trafficking heroin to and within the EU. Turkish groups have established heroin stockpiles in the Western Balkans, from which local groups are in charge of further distribution. In addition, the growing
prevalence of West African groups should not be underestimated, with evidence of close cooperation with groups established in source areas and EU criminal hubs."

p.13

"In South East Europe and the Western Balkans both indoor and outdoor cultivation have been observed. Albanian-speaking criminal groups play a significant role in supplying South East Europe: cannabis grown in Albania and the Kosovo region is distributed in Greece, Italy, Slovenia, Hungary, and also trafficked to Turkey, where it is exchanged for heroin. Within the South East criminal hub there is an emerging trend for outdoor cultivation by elderly citizens, whose harvest is then purchased by criminal groups engaged in polydrug distribution. As in the
case of illegal migrants and individuals compromised by the economic crisis, domestic cannabis cultivation brings vulnerable groups in society into greater proximity with organised crime."

p.14

"The continued prominence of the Western Balkans in heroin trafficking, despite the existence of more direct routes through South East Europe and, indeed, the fact that traffic must leave the EU in order to enter these countries, points to the existence of substantial criminal logistics in the region. There has been a notable increase in the involvement in
heroin and cocaine trafficking of citizens of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia."

p.15

"Albanian speaking organised crime is truly poly-drug and poly-criminal. Within the EU, Albanian speaking groups are active in the fields of cocaine, heroin, synthetic drug and cannabis trafficking. The financial resources of these groups have enabled them to interact with
criminal organisations in source areas for illicit drugs, as well as to proactively identify new criminal opportunities. Some of their proceeds are reportedly destined for support organisations for the former Kosovo Liberation Army. "

Propaganda? You can live in denial, but it's a matter of fact that Kosovo is the main drug hub in Europe. No matter if you check Serbian 'intelligence', CIA, or Interpol. Okay, if you ask Thaci 'intelligence', in Kosovo everything is fine and the only criminality is located in the Serbian North.

But it's not surprising: In a pseudo-state with a police recruited from former war fighters and without professional qualification, combined with powerful local mafia clans often protected by state officials, even a professional police couldn't do much. Further more, without the drug business, the almost non-existing economy in Kosovo would be even weaker.

The society that is built out of theft is also upheld through donation and 'good will'. Kosovo is producing nothing of its own and that is why its amputation from Serbia is only temporarily.

(Mendo, 20 December 2011 13:45)

Of course LOL. What's messed up is for Kosovo Albanian society to even survive as a drug paradise it depends on large 'donations' from the Albanian diaspora as well as from the West.

The society that is built out of theft is also upheld through donation and 'good will'. Kosovo is producing nothing of its own and that is why its amputation from Serbia is only temporarily.

Hmmmmm....Kosovo and Afghanistan both have a couple of things in common.

Firstly, they both have a lot of drugs.

Secondly, they both have an American Military presence.

However, Kosovo is the better place because it is a black hole.

I can't wait to see what those Kosovarians are going to do when they join the EU.

(Another Canadian Serb, 20 December 2011 12:09)

And one more thing: Just like in Afghanistan, the 'state' is made up of (often rivaling) local clans which are only loyal to their clan leader, and not to the state itself.
Politicians often see the state as a 'self-service shop' to provide their clan members with jobs in the state administration or state-owned companies.

I can't wait to see what those Kosovarians are going to do when they join the EU.
(Another Canadian Serb, 20 December 2011 12:09)
You must be very young if you really think you will see the day Kosovo joins the EU during your lifetime ;-)

yeah I misspoke there but you know what I mean.. It's a funny way of changing the subject.. Most of the drugs that comes from Afganistan to Europe goes through Kosovo without any objective from Thaci and his KLA gangsters.. I'm sure you already know that.. That's what he and his criminal buddies currently running Kosovo are there for.. I'm sure you know that paper that was leaked by the German BDN in 2005 that said exactly this

“Über die Key-Player (wie z. B. Haliti, Thaci, Haradinaj) bestehen engste Verflechtungen zwischen Politik, Wirtschaft und international operierenden OK-Strukturen im Kosovo. Die dahinter stehenden kriminellen Netzwerke fördern dort die politische Instabilität. Sie haben kein Interesse am Aufbau einer funktionierenden staatlichen Ordnung, durch die ihre florierenden Geschäfte beeinträchtigt werden können.“

English translation
Through the key players—for example Thaci, Haliti, Haradinaj—there is the closest interlink between politics, the economy and international organized crime in Kosovo. The criminal organizations in the background there foster political instability. They have no interest at all in the building of a functioning orderly state that could be detrimental to their booming business.”)

we do know that each time serbs lookto obtain something ,they began a campain about drug dealing in kosovo, forgetting how much the south american route is a pure serbian route! So as for bnd ,they sometime have serbian informators, that why they even tryto be terrorist in prishtina,as proved some time ago!Strange that you serbs always forget to talk about your greek fellow and the greek route before this drug arrives in kosovo!!!But don not forget one thing:kosovo is the place where every telephone call is under survey, and dromes are flying every day over kosovo,so every mouvement of any activities is controlled by internationals...

Can you please elaborate on the teleporting capabilities of the Albanian drug traffickers? How do they teleport all the drugs from Kosovo to Europe, without going thru Serbian customs? Then, UPS could offer those traffickers some legal jobs to transfer shipments by teleporting, instead of planes. LOL, what a bunch of losers!!!! Instead of cooperating, playing blame/propaganda game.

Even EUROPOL is lying in their OCTA (Organised Crime Threat Assessment reports) that can be found here:

p.8

Now we will see how many of you can actually understand what you can read.

LOL absolutely correct roberto. Why rely on sources from EUROPOL, UNMIK, and German BND for obviously biased propaganda? If the Albanian mafia media says it's all a bunch of lies and propaganda, it's got to be all lies and propaganda.
