This is Russia and Serbia dragging the situation on and on. I would not be surprise if they do it until Serbia is secure enough to launch a Chechnia type invasion modeled after their Russian allies.

There is no such thing as International Law especially after what happened to Yugoslavia, Serbia, Iraq and Syria. Agreements today are all meant to be broken.

That is the Resolution that Serbia loves to talk about. I hope you can read when it was approved, it refers mainly Federal Republic of Yugoslavia which doesn't exist anymore. I know you will say that Serbia has inherited Yugoslavia. You are entitled of making your deduction but the issue is not simplistic as Serbia trying to argue the case. There has been a bloody war in Kosovo and the whole world knows the brutality of Yugoslavia/Serbia state if you like against the population in Kosovo. Following the famous resolution 1244, it talks about the Ramboullet talks and President Ahtisari was asked by Secretary General of the UN to find a solution to the Kosovo issue and came with a Plan....If there was no war in Kosovo, Serbia could have a right to claim BUT....too many victims Dragan....they families will not forsake...

I read 2 hours ago report from Jelena Milic director for eurointegration.
Her statment about 1244 UNSC stats that 1244 gives not the deed to Srbia
to clame jurisdiction and control of Kosovo, but recomands future agreements for discution about status of Kosovo.Furthetmore if agreements is not possible Kosovo can separate from Sebias jurisdiction
and be indipendet.Miss Jelena Milic recomands explanation of 1244 as it
intends to be in accordans with UNSC.

The attempt of the "Western LANDGRABBERS" lead by Merkel have failed. you may have occupied kosovo province for now but it lack recognition from the UNSC. therefore no UN seat no EU seat for this so called kosovo UDI. and it remained illegal.

All I know is that Kosovo applied for a seat at the IMF and World Bank and 109 countries voted for Kosovo to be admitted.

Vatican is a country but does not have a UN seat. Switzerland did not have a UN seat until 2003, and the Swiss people would be aghast to learn from you that they did not have a country until 2003. On the other hand, Ukraine, had a UN seat since 1945 but did not become a country until 1991. Kuwait does have a UN seat but it is a fake country (so we've been told in these forums because it's contolled by US).

Russia might veto applications to UN membership (if and when those applications are made; before then their veto is worthless) but can't veto countries from recognizing other countries. If there were to be a UN General meeting, Kosovo would fail as majority of countries throughout the world does not recognize kosovo udi. When it comes to the UNSC, kosovo recognition fails as Russia AND China Veto recognition. Just because a territory gets World Bank and IMF recognition does not make them a soveriegn entity. The International organizations that matter are International Dialing code, FIFA, Olympics, WTO, UN, UNESCO, The Vatican, Consensus of ALL 27 EU members.

Dear Dragan, apparently you don't understand what "veto" means. "Veto" in this case means that when a resolution is presented to the UNSC, Russia can block it. Now, the thing is that nothing has been presented to the UNSC so Russia's veto is worthless because there is nothing to veto in the first place :)
