The European part belongs to Greece.
(Zoran, 13 December 2011 17:24

Since when? last time i checked it still belongs to Turkey.
(Skiff, 14 December 2011 20:59)

Since the dawn of times. And ever will. As KiM belongs to Serbia. Borders are replaceable throughout history, so doesn't matter where today they are.

my friend my friend, I don't ask you to read books but at lease click on wikipedia: Flavius Valerius Constantinus, as he was originally named, was born in the city of Naissus, Moesia, in present-day Niš, Serbia, on the 27th of February of an uncertain year,[27] probably near 272.[28] His father was Flavius Constantius, a native of Moesia (later Dacia Ripensis).

The late Roma Empire was ruled by non latins: Diocletianus from Split just to mention ones but you can wiki-click also on this.

Will not bother you with a lecture on European history, I know it's not your bread so yes, the entire world as always been illyrian :)

...exactely as the Christian Orthodox Serbia, the core of Eastern Roman Empire and which gave birth to teh emperor Costantin, a key figure in the building of western culture. Historically and culturally Turkey was the nemesis of such identities.

Belonging to Europe is not a matter geographical position.
(KiM, 13 December 2011 12:58)

Interesting. Apparently yet another version of history being created.

Ladies and gentleman , it seems we have all been misled. According to our fellow poster , Constantin was in fact a Serb ,(and not Roman as the evil west would have us believe) and , to that end , the serbs can now claim credit for fathering a key figure in western culture.
Im impressed! According to Greater Serbian mythology , Serbia existed , before it errrrr, actually existed.

And THAT my friends is what I call a historical first!!!!.

WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!:)

"Turkey started its EU membership negotiations in 2005, but the process has been blocked for a year. The country was given the status of candidate for EU membership 12 years ago."

Serbia should take a leaf from Turkey's unfortunate experience -- obtaining candidate status over a decade ago and then left high and dry in limbo ever since -- other B92 articles talked about Serbia being asked to recognize Kosovo as a condition for EU candidature ..... but what after obtaining that candidature? Very likely to be left stagnating like Ankara thereafter should Serbia be stupid enough to cave in to this demand. She will then be be giving up her territory for practically nothing. I think the major EU members are despicable and simply cannot be trusted.

"Greece should be kicked out of EU and Turkey accepted instead. This would be both economically and military better for EU. Greece can only contribute in debt and laziness.
(nikshala, 13 December 2011 18:13)"

And you, Nikshala, should be kicked out of this site. B92, you should start implementing your own policies. Obviously Nikshala was deliberately insulting Greece and its people based on a lack of education mentality that is so common for certain group of visitors of this once more serious and respected site.

"The European Union is primarily for the European contient. As far as I'm aware, our Turkish friends, a great power, great nation, are mostly located in Asia Minor."
B92

So for Sarkozi the only reason Turkey is kept out of the EU is because is located in the Asian continent. Not the fact that Turkey occupies 40% of a sovereign country, member of the UN, and EU, not the fact they Invaded, killed, maimed and looted a small nation, not the fact that is refusing to allow the lawful inhabitants to return to their homes, not the fact that it keeps 40000 troops and 300000+ Muslim settlers from Anatolia not the fact it still refuses to recognise the Armenian and Greek genocides and the rights of 20Million Kurds.

As to Sarkozi's suggestion that Turkey should become a bridge between East and West I will tell Sarkozi never to cross that bridge.

If most of Turkey's territory is in Asia then where exactly is Cyprus?
(adrian kola, 13 December 2011 12:22)

Geographically in the Mediterrean, historically and culturally at the heart of western European Culture, exactely as the Christian Orthodox Serbia, the core of Eastern Roman Empire and which gave birth to teh emperor Costantin, a key figure in the building of western culture. Historically and culturally Turkey was the nemesis of such identities.
