Very much like the current US foreign policy where they do not tolerate anyone who does not mimic them or do their bidding.

Welcome to the world sj... states are there to act in the interest of their citizens, not in the interest of other states :)

Just out of curiosity, what are his greatest achievements considered to be while in office?

As far as I can recall, some of his main political promises were:

- prevent extradition of Slobodan Milosevic
- preserve State Union with Montenegro
- prevent independence of Kosovo
- economic growth and employment
- progress on European integration

Not sure about his records on socio-economic issues, but I guess his main achievement at the international areas was, ironically, the signing of the PfP with NATO.

"What is extremism if not declaring an idea to be without any alternative?"

- Extremists are often intolerant and against any compromise.

The West is against any compromise on Kosovo status.

"What is extremism if not declaring an idea to be without any alternative?"

- Extremism is any ideology or political act far outside the perceived political center of a society; or otherwise claimed to violate common moral standards
- Extremists often want to reach their goal by violent means.
- Extremism is a complex phenomenon. Most simply, it can be defined as activities (beliefs, attitudes, feelings, actions, strategies) of a character far removed from the ordinary.
- Extremists have a tendency to view opponents and critics as essentially evil.
- Extremists are often intolerant and against any compromise.

The policy of 'EU has no alternative' is an example of political extremism," concluded Koštunica.

The guy is spot on again. I know why so many people dislike him. The truth hurts in many cases. Tadic is the extremist and his policies will cost Serbia dearly if he has his way. At least the resistance is getting stronger so there is a bright side to it.

"Now they're threatening the citizens with extremists taking over if the candidate status does not materialize, but it is the government that conducts the 'EU has no alternative policy" that is politically extreme. What is extremism if not declaring an idea to be without any alternative? The policy of 'EU has no alternative' is an example of political extremism," concluded Koštunica.'

Exactly. Even the Kostunica haters can not argue with this very logical statement. The 'EU has no alternative' is indeed extremism at its worst. Had such a campaign been started in Norway or Switzerland, it would have been crucified by the media. But not in Serbia, where the media is compliant with this propaganda.
