We got that... but the point was how comes he only cares about improving the lives of Serbia's Serb citizens and not Serbia's Albanian citizens, as well ? (icj1, 11 December 2011 18:49)

Actually I still don't get it: Switzerland for example has four official languages but all its citizens are called Swiss; Belgium consists of Flemish, Walloons and Germans and still its citizens are called Belgians. I could go on like this...

Only in Serbia a different system seems to be in place: “the state of Serbian people and all citizens who live in Serbia” is how the Serbian constitution describes it.

By saying that the talks are aimed at improving the lives of Serbs in Kosovo, is a recognition, maybe not formal. To have left it with the talks are technical in nature would not have been. But no one negotiates with the opposition authorities in their own country for the rights of their own people. By going to these talks to improve the life of Serbs in Kosovo shows that Serbia does not control Kosovo and to the ones saying no UNMIK does, UNMIK is not at the table. .

True. Fortunately, Kosovo is not a country, so nobody will mind that it will never be able to join the EU.
(Comm. Parrisson, 11 December 2011 21:21)

The fact that Kosovo is not a country for Serbia, means nothing for the rest of the world since nobody has appointed Serbia to be the universal adjudicator of what's a country or not.

Regardless, fortunately there are many non-countries in the EU already, so Kosovo being a country or not is a moot point for EU membership purposes.

There is a lot of comments that keep referring to Kosovo as an independent country. Very amusing. The only reason that Germany and its satellites in the EU spend a lot of time and effort, with bribes and threats, trying to get Serbia to recognize the UDI of Kosovo is obvious: UNSC Resolution 1244 governs this entire matter, because if it didn't, nobody would put any effort at all into Serbia, and Kosovo would have entered the EU a long time ago. Really, if UNSC 1244 didn't govern, why would Merkel even go to Belgrade? The obvious reason is that Kosovo, pursuant to UNSC 1244, is an autonomous province of Serbia unless Belgrade gives it up, period. It can't be a EU member and certainly can't become a UN member. All the pressure on Belgrade is nonsensical if 1244 didn't govern: obviously it does. That's why Kosovo is nothing more than an outlaw ward of certain EU nations and the US due to its mineral wealth and Camp Bondsteel. Pristina can call itself the Holy Kosovo Empire if it want to, pick any title you want, but the fact remains that UNSC 1244 governs, so you remain a province of Serbia as the signatories of 1244 agreed to, while Serbia is recognized in the UN, and it has ecomonic options in BRIC, the Customs Union, and NAM, outside of the German Empire called the EU. Kosovo under 1244 has only one option: negotiate a solution with Belgrade short of independence, or remain frozen as a ward.

"Serbia" will never recognise Kosovo..! Oh yes you will Jeremic. Serbia has no choice but to recognise Kosova and eventually it will happen as Serbia proper will eventually get bored with the problems and economic drain its having on Beograd, that it will have to offically recognise Kosova and let it go just as Slobo got bored and had enough of the Krajina Serbs which was returned to it's true owners the Croatians. If the Serbian people honestly think that Kosova will never be lost then my friend you know nothing about Balkan politics. Serbia is desperate to enter the E.U -yes I use the word 'desperate'. It's like when Serbia was reluctant to hand over war criminals Mladic & Hadzic, in the end political power from the E.U had its way and it will eventually have its way with Kosova as well.

I have got a small question for Jeremic. How about if the remaining five EU member states recognise officially Kosovo independence. Will Serbia do as well? Think well before you give any answer. I am giving you a lottttt of time...) PS there are more than five EU countries that have recognised Kosovo independence...Do you really think Mr Jeremic that they will accept another Cyprus in its ranks..? You have no choice BUT to accept OFFICIALLY Kosovo independence and tell the TRUTH to the Serbian people. At the end of the day it is not your fault or Tadic's fault for the loss of Kosovo BUT Milosevic and his policies.

-...and in particularly to improve the life of Serb residents,” the foreign minister concluded. --The life of K-Serbs it will be very good if you don't finance your thugs to make their lives hard. hey, I am glad you found a media outlet to publish your views, because no western media would want to listen to your B.S. (Agim Kelmendi, 11 December 2011 15:16)

Thanks, agim, as usual, you hit the spot. jeremic, stefanovic, well, the entire blgd regime is so yesterday, and i mean that in its worst way. they represent the radical ideology, claim they're "pro-west" and threaten that if they're not given all the prizes, terrible things will happen. like what -- that radicals will take over, more of the same?? give me a friggin break.

these ppl are the very worst thing for the normal decent ppl of serbia. but ppl are still under the milosevic spell, you see it every day, you read it here every day. so sad, so pathetic.

as to the frequent personal attacks against you, agim, i'm really sorry. you get so used to that style here, one barely even notices -- isn't that the sh-ts? and i've written about it... and of course personally experience it here on an almost daily basis. that and the usual "editing."

so i know i don't have to explain it to you, as though you are naive or inexperienced. if you are a dissident (to this site), if you are articulate and consistent... you will pay a price. you will be made to suffer. you'll be libeled and threatened... i've seen it many times, and am in touch with another person who has gone thru it here, much as i have. we laugh about it, but really it isn't funny at all, it is horrible.

so, remembering that human rights day was, um YESterday, i wish to apologize to you for all of the ugly nasty snarky personal attacks made ag. you here, and against a wide array of our kosovar colleagues. and dissidents, in general. always facilitated. it is a terrible wrong -- and in honor of international human rights day, we should never accept it, grow used to it. here i am really speaking to myself.

and speaking of HUMAN rights day, we are going to be starting up a petition campaign pushing the serbian govt to find and put on trial the killer(s) of Dada, the brave journalist who was assassinated in blgd in 1994 for writing about ties between govt and organized crime, among other pressing and sensitive issues. she famously said that she would no longer cover the "battlefields" of sarajevo and the like (paraphrasing), since she couldn't stand to just watch the slaughter of ppl, of women and children. in other words, a journalist with a conscience. i'm sure b92 will support us, since it has been (occasionally) promoting this story.

No, according to this view, they are Serbian citizens, but not Serbs. (Analyst, 11 December 2011 16:20)

We got that... but the point was how comes he only cares about improving the lives of Serbia's Serb citizens and not Serbia's Albanian citizens, as well ?

You seems to decide for KSerbs what is better for them. KSerbs resent Beograde for not helping them. Tadic would be glad to get rid of KSerbs, he cannot control them.

By saying that the talks are aimed at improving the lives of Serbs in Kosovo, is a recognition, maybe not formal. To have left it with the talks are technical in nature would not have been. But no one negotiates with the opposition authorities in their own country for the rights of their own people. By going to these talks to improve the life of Serbs in Kosovo shows that Serbia does not control Kosovo and to the ones saying no UNMIK does, UNMIK is not at the table. .
