After having lived and worked in Kosovo for a period of 5 yrs(2yrs in Pristina & 3yrs in North Mitrovica), I am fully aware of what has been happening in the region during my time spent there. I could see what you were trying to achieve, (at one stage I thought you knew what you were doing), and the pressure that you were under from your newly discovered "buddies" american & german in particular (they dont deserve capital letters). What I could not believe is the way in which you have allowed them to bully you whilst at the same time showing total disregard for the Serbs in Kosovo. They must have told you, "if you want to join our EU, (which is proving to be a total disaster with the financial crises worsening on a weekly basis), you must satisfy the following conditions", hand over individuals to the hague, remove barricades in the north and various other orders. When you eventually achieved this, your country was still not invited to join, instead they keep you hanging on for some months more. How much of a slap in the face is that for you Tadic, I really must question how much self respect you have ? But for me, the ultimate irony was that on the day that you were officially refused, they announced that your wonderful german loving neighbours croatia, were invited to join. In the uk, we call that "rubbing salt into the wound", we also have an expression which means when someone or something has run its course and it very obviously isnt going to succeed, it is called "your number is up". Tadic your number is up, it is time for you to go off into the horizon, perhaps if you speak to Tony Blair, he may be able to advise you. He also screwed up a country with the help from his buddies from the usa but at the same time he travels the world earning lots of money. How you both can sleep at night, I will never know !!

Just yesterday or 2 days ago Presient Tadic said that there were no new conditions and now we find out there are. Perhaps these were not new to Mr Tadic.
"The president also explained that the condition "clearly put before Serbia in order to become a candidate (for EU membership)" was to give up on its position that Priština - i.e., the Kosovo Albanian authorities - must be represented in regional gathering "under the mark of UN Resolution 1244".

I find it very very strange that the president of the country in times that are of profound impacts to Serbia did not mention this condition. Perhaps this was a condition all along, since Kosovo declared Independence and Mr. Tadic and his cabinet seem to have been hiding it from the public. They just perhaps never admitted to the people. So basically he probably was not lying 2 days ago when he said there were no new conditions.

Someone needs to take Tadic and shake the hell out of him. And then explain to him that he either recognizes the independence of Kosovo, Vojvodina, Presevo, Sandzak, Nis, Aleksinac, Pancevo, Kragujevac, Cuprija and Negotin or stay out of the EU. GET THROUGH YOUR THICK HEAD!!! NO EU WITHOUT SUBMISSION AND SHAME!!!

The true horror of this situation is that the abused wife if keeping her children hostage to the abuser as well. The people of Serbia should not have to suffer because Tadic is so in love with his abuser and won't leave the situation.

I find it difficult to understand why so many people are so critical of Tadic when he has always said that Serbia will never recognise Kosovos UDI in any way. He has always said that he wants EU membership but not at any cost. This strikes me as a principled stance. Surely the ones to be critisised should be the EU members who continue to place extra conditions on Serbia for membership. Tadic has maintained his stance despite some incredibly unfair situations that have been placed on him. It strikes me that maybe the Serbian people should be backing their president rather than blaming him for things that are beyond his control. It would have been easier for him to just agree with everything that the EU has demanded of him. Of course, I am not a Serbian national but I do live here and feel very sad that the EU member states, one more than all others, have double crossed Serbia so badly. Why can one country have such an overall influence on this decision. I hope in the days ahead, more of the EU countries who wanted Serbia to be granted candidate status, begin to ask the same questions. For all those who blame Tadic, I ask you to give a sensible alternative strategy rather than just mindlessly attacking him. As long as Tadic does not renounce UNSC 1244, he is maintaining a very principled fight while trying all he can to get Serbia into the EU while maintaining its territorial integrity including the province of Kosovo. The Serbs should rally around him because they are getting shafted by certain EU states led by Germany. The other EU states, as you said, need to recognize what is going on. Germany has a long 70 year old grudge against Serbia for ruining their "eastbound plans" on the road to Moscow.

I find it very very strange that the president of the country in times that are of profound impacts to Serbia did not mention this condition. Perhaps this was a condition all along, since Kosovo declared Independence and Mr. Tadic and his cabinet seem to have been hiding it from the public. They just perhaps never admitted to the people. So basically he probably was not lying 2 days ago when he said there were no new conditions.

How pathetic and retarded, with the huge crisis the EU is going through and the collapse that will inevitably happen, this man is out of his mind, and the people of Serbia are not stupid enough to fall for it.

I would say that it is certain he will get voted out by the time of the next elections, but the west has its way of meddling in the politics and elections of smaller countries. They would have done so in Russia, but Russia is simply too strong for this to happen.

I find it difficult to understand why so many people are so critical of Tadic when he has always said that Serbia will never recognise Kosovos UDI in any way. He has always said that he wants EU membership but not at any cost. This strikes me as a principled stance. Surely the ones to be critisised should be the EU members who continue to place extra conditions on Serbia for membership. Tadic has maintained his stance despite some incredibly unfair situations that have been placed on him. It strikes me that maybe the Serbian people should be backing their president rather than blaming him for things that are beyond his control. It would have been easier for him to just agree with everything that the EU has demanded of him. Of course, I am not a Serbian national but I do live here and feel very sad that the EU member states, one more than all others, have double crossed Serbia so badly. Why can one country have such an overall influence on this decision. I hope in the days ahead, more of the EU countries who wanted Serbia to be granted candidate status, begin to ask the same questions. For all those who blame Tadic, I ask you to give a sensible alternative strategy rather than just mindlessly attacking him. You may not agree with him but you also have to offer a pheasible alternative.
One other question troubles me, Serbia has cooperated 100% with the Hague...some other countries still fail to come anywhere near that level of cooperation and yet today have been admitted to the EU. How?

UK, your comment is absolutely correct. I am a Serb-American. As long as Tadic does not renounce UNSC 1244, he is maintaining a very principled fight while trying all he can to get Serbia into the EU while maintaining its territorial integrity including the province of Kosovo. The Serbs should rally around him because they are getting shafted by certain EU states led by Germany. The other EU states, as you said, need to recognize what is going on. Germany has a long 70 year old grudge against Serbia for ruining their "eastbound plans" on the road to Moscow.
