Serbia's EU candidate bid to be reviewed in February
EU foreign ministers will meet in February to review Serbia's application to become a candidate for membership, which the EU Council should confirm in March.

If only it were that simple. They want Serbia to STFU, give albanian lebensraum so that they STFU and then do what they are told. The EU adopts Tito's old policy of dividing Serbia to keep the albanians and others happy and free to treat serbs as second class citizens.
They fear the spillover of the latent albanian threat to start another war in Macedonia.
Don't rock the boat. They stopped Russia from Liberating slavs in the balkans from the Ottomans @Crimea, they saved the Ottoman Empire from bankrupcy leaving them to continue ever larger massacres of armenians and others and keeping it long enough afloat for the germans to step in when britian and france could no longer turn a blind eye. This 'stability' certainly benefited the new and up coming european power, Germany and protected the defunct A-H empire, leading to the senseless slaughter of millions of men between 1914-1918 and spread the war globally.
Stability is ALWAYS right because the west is always right.
Forget the EU from now. Serbia will never win a seat as long as "Merkel and the Germans" are calling mostly the shots in EU policy on Serbia.
If they are truly desire to see Serbia in the EU then why they keep on imposing new conditions despite the fact Serbia had cooperated in arresting Mladic, Karadzic, Seselic, etc..
The fact is they wanted Serbia to give up Kosovo province and this is definitely will never be accepted by the Serbian people both in Serbia and inside kosovo province.

I think it's safe to say that we can put our EU path on hold for a few years until the political scene in Europe changes.
They are too busy with their own agendas and do not care about our country.
Stop spending millions on EU campaigning & start spending millions on free trade agreements with BRICS!!
We already get funding from the EU and we have CEFTA. What immediate benefits would we see for joining the sinking EU right now? Nada.
