Photo op with Tadic for only $50million. What a bargain! I wonder if this company has any military contracts and provides tyres for american equipment used to amputate parts of Serbia. Everything has dual-use potential these days.

Kvic is right. They do not come to help us, but to help themselves. Keep in mind, a pro-West development plan leads to dependency, not development. While we do need investment and to export to them, we also need to think outside of the box, so that we are more than just a silly colony like oh say Bulgaria.

Explain if you can how the Americans can “create” $7,700,000,000,000 overnight to give to their banking elite? Why has this not caused inflation in America?

Clearly inflation is not caused by printing money. Whether we get inflation or not is determined by what we do with this new money. Most of the $7.7 trillion “created” and given to the American banking elite has been used to balance their bankrupt books. Some of it has been used to buy precious metals and other scarce resources, and these prices have increased, but there has been no general rise in prices.

I repeat, if new Dinars are used to build new infrastructure and to pay for new production, then no inflation will arise. If, however, these new Dinars are used by Tadic and his gang to buy existing property and assets, then that will cause inflation.

Dinars for Serbia! Prison for Tadic and his gang!

@Michael Thomas

huh?

If Serbia printed billions of Dinars and used them to pay wages on infrastructure projects, then there would be billions more Dinars in circulation, reducing the value of each individual one.

kooky economics.

This simple process will create full employment and bring the Government no new debt. The Government will not be “borrowing” these Dinars, they will be “creating” them, which is what private banks do. If they do not borrow, then there will be no debt and no interest to pay.

What an economic genius. So more and more Dinars are printed, their value against all other currencies fall, Serbia with a negative export balance has to pay more and more for imported goods, their prices (in Dinar) raises, employees demand more and more money to keep their living standards, and you have hyper inflation. Soon everyone in Serbia will be a millionaire, but a million dinars might be worth only $100. Oh, didn't Milosevic use this great proposed method (except he didn't spend the money for infrastructure, but for destroying infrastructure in neighboring regions?)

Serbia’s economic salvation rests in its own hands. All it needs to do is disobey the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and print Dinars. These Dinars can be spent into the economy by the Government (local and national) to build new infrastructure and improve services. If this new money is used to build new things and employ people, then there will be no inflation.

Had the Government printed Dinars to build the new Ada Bridge and the planned bridge to Borca, then they could have used Serbian companies and workers to build them (not Austrian and Chinese) and the Government would have financed them debt-free. As things now stand, both bridges might cost 1 billion Euros on which interest will be charged.

The IMF has forbidden the Government from issuing Dinars. This is the greatest crime against the Serbian people.

Free Serbia from Foreign Domination. Print Dinars Now!

Of course Cooper loves the Serbian workforce: it should be pretty cheap and there are a large amount of unemployed people that would do the job for low pay. So glad Cooper is coming to Serbia to rake even more profits from a lower-wage market and also to pay less taxes and potentially to develop nice relationships with the corrupt Tadic regime that will always bend over backwards for foreigners while sucking the citizens dry and collecting tax revenue from their impoverished hands. Nothing but smiles all around, right?
(Kvic, 9 December 2011 00:26)

Would you rather have those unemployed people continue being unemployed, draining state welfare when it could be redistributed into certain infrastructural projects or other practical spending measures? Or would you rather keep rambling on about the failures of capitalism and private entrepreneurship while you type on a computer which was created and thought of by one of the western world's brightest entrepreneurs, all the while while it was probably built by some low-wage worker in China

Gee I wonder why they didn't invest 50 Million Euros in the Serbian province of Kosovo i Metohija?
(robert1899, 8 December 2011 22:17)

I don't wonder. No private company invests in a self-proclaimed pseudo-state with a doubtful state and future and a corrupt government that makes decisions as they please. Imagine a company which produces car components located in Kosovo. Suddenly, Thaci decides not to import parts from Serbia any more. But this company needs some subcomponents from a Serbian producer. So their business is stopped and they have to find other sources, probably they have to buy 'legal imports' from the Tacci distribution in Montenegro for a higher price. Those things can always happen with a government which is making irresponsible decisions just for gaining points from nationalists.

Well this is welcoming I guess. Southern Serbia needs more. I am pleased to see that the government will continue to have some presence in the firm, that not all of it will be sold off.

Now, Krusevac happens to be close to the so called "corridor 10" highway. Perhaps it might not be bad if they made a branch of highway that would go from corridor 10 to Krusevac, as it is nearby. I know it's easier said that done, but perhaps that might not be a bad idea, to connect it to the airport in Nis and the highway in general.
