NATO again. Where did you hear that one? Voices in your head. NATO did not order the removal as they left it to KFOR. The Serbs would not have removed the barricades unless their terms were met and they were.

Great... It's good that Serbs are happy. We thought for a moment that not being able to entertain themselves by playing with logs in the roads they might not be happy :)

The barricades went down because NATO ordered it. The Serbs had no choice. The "agreement" is totally one sided in favor of the Albanians. If you listened to Serb analysts from Belgrade, you would have heard the sad (for you) truth.

That is exactly what I ask myself whenever I read your comments.

None of this existed before the agreement and thats why the barricades went up. Now they are obsolete!

There's a reason why I'm not on here as much as I used to be anymore, and that's basically because an article like this that doesn't even mention Albanians is still interpreted by some as some major defeat or concession the Serbs were forced to accept. The article basically implies that local Serbs in northern Kosovo will start coordinating security with KFOR, and as far as I'm concerned, that's essentially what the local Serbs want. Nowhere in the article did it even mention Pristina having any sort of say - either at these internal "checkpoints" or at the administrative border. If an agreement was reached with the local community (i.e. the Serbs), then so be it. They'be been the ones literally at the barricades and in my opinion the decision to start implementing some sort of joint-security serivice not only indicates a readiness of KFOR to work with the local community, but that the agreement reached in Brussels on administrative crossings had a lot more provisions in store for the north than is currently being published, which seems to be a setup for self-administration.

So, since there aren't too many comments on this I suspect everyone is mulling over the "agreement". As far as I can tell, Albanians will be at the administrative crossings as observers only, it does not cover the collection of taxes and Serbian police will be back in KiM. I do like the idea of Serbian police being back in the province. I'll be on the sidelines on this one until we know more.
(Zoran, 5 December 2011 18:29)

Zoran,
Whoever told you that Kosovo customs officers will be observers and Serbian police will be in Kosovo did a tremendous job on misinforming you. According to analysts from Serbia (who I listened very carefully in Radio Free Europe in Serbian language), two sides will build the integrated checkpoint in the neutral zone between the current checkpoints exactly at the border. According to agreement both sides will do the functions according to their separate jurisdiction. In the crossings 1 and 31 the EULEX will have executive functions unlike other 4 crossings where KP and Kosovo Customs officers have these functions. There will be no Serbian nor Kosovo state symbols in and at the integrated checkpoints because the checkpoints will be built in neutral zone.
You wish this was according to your famous more than autonomy less than independence project but it is not.

Isn't it funny that lenard the croat calls Serbs fascist? How do you figure lenard? But before you go off on some anti serb tangent, why don't you first explain the slaughter of millions by fascist in ww2 which you and your forefathers were a part of. Please explain to the world how the Ustache killed/slaughtered millions with Germany, side by side in the balkans. Twist history if you can, I'm certain we'd all get a good chuckle. Bring it on .

Don't know how to get out of it either way without losing face some times it is good to start over and take the rite path. This path Serbs Serbia is on now puts a horrible blight on the Serbs name reputation. The Serb politicians manipulate it to their own self serving evil ends the twisted saga continues.

Zorane, you are number one spinning Serb here. At first, you denounce the Tadic administration as "sell-outs" and "traitors" and now you claim that they achieved a decive victory which I see nowhere. So please decide which lie you want to perpetuate here and stop jumping between those two modes.

What has been agreed is the IBM which means that Serbian officials are allowed to come to the border but with Albanian observers waiting that noone in a Serbian uniform cross it even a milimeter. Sounds for me like a border like anywhere where police units from both sides check passengers crossing a border. From Albanian perspective, no problems at all.

Lenard, give it a rest with your constant anti-Serb comments. Don't you ever get tired of it? Anyway, as long as there is peace in KiM, that is the most important thing. Serbs and Albanians will have to learn to live as neighbors, as neither one is going away from the Balkans, as much as each side would like that. Let KiM and Serbia share the administrative crossings, and so be it. There are much more important things in life. BTW, how is that investigation into KLA organ-harvesting going? I haven't heard a word lately.
