@Mark: Yes, this genetic variant indeed exists, but it has a completly different meaning than the doubtful racial categorisation "Jewish blood".

@FancyLad: The idea of a Jewish world conspiracy's of fascist origin, too.

I belong to the fastest growing party in Serbia, the (WC) party. WHO CARES. The jewish people in western capitals helped make Kosova what it is and they alone can shed tears for the desecration of anything Jewish in modern Kosova.

Let Kosova be what Kosova is-its your creation and you can enjoy its fruits alone. WHO CARES! And when the Kosova Frankenstein runs amok in your little European village one day you can light the torches and try to stop him, Ill be drinking beer and fishing somewhere in the mountains with not a care in the world.

Genetic studies on Jews show that most Jews worldwide do indeed bear a common genetic heritage which originates in the Middle East, and that they bear their strongest resemblance to the peoples of the Fertile Crescent, with only minor contribution from their host populations.
Iam not saying anthing about blood just there origins.

"Theres less then 50 Jews in Kosovo (all of which are of Albanian, and not Jewish blood)"

There's no such thing as "Jewish blood". The term's a highly questionable racial categorisation was invented by the nazis.

The truth is that a person can be Albanian & Jewish at the same time, just like he can be Serbian & Jewish at the same time.

Albanians are somehow trying to justify this action by saying it is kids, or it the symbols are buddist symbols.

Albs try to paint themseleves as the great saviours of the Jews, while most of them where members of SS brigade in Kosovo.

The Jewish Cemetary is NON MUSLIM, so it is just another thing that must be destroyed by Albanians in order to promote their "Greater Albania"

First you destroy Christian Cemetaries and now Jewish.

My guess is that these are Albanian teens whose families live in Germany (and therefore they know the German language) who come back and forth between Kosovo and Germany a lot.

"it is worth noting though that the Ferronikel complex is owned by men of Hebrew faith"

But aren't the Israeli-owned smelters causing extreme pollution in Kosovo. I think there was a deadly explosion last June in an Israeli-owned complex and it seems Kosovo is being exploited by outside greedy people who don't have to follow the usual environmental rules of a stable/strong country.

One of the reasons for the break-up of Yugoslavia was so all these outside globalists/businessmen could buy up and exploit the resources and the people - so much for "freedom" and "independence". It's really about outsiders wanting to take advantages they couldn't before the wars and secessions.

Where did I say the crime was justified? What I do take issue with, is the gross generalizations that are common here. i do not consider every Serb to harbor genocidal thoughts because Mladic, Karadzic and Milosevic ordered such atrocities. This vandalism is despicable, but i will not have that it endemic in Kosovar society to vandalize Jewish graves and that anti-semitism is ripe in the country. If it were, you would not have Jews owning Ferronikel and certainly you would not have a Jew emigrating from Israel to set up a business and then decide to live in Kosovo

These are just merely Buddhist symbols painted there by playing kids. There is nothing even remotely being anti-Semite or anti-Serbian in Kosova, Kosova is the only country on the planet without crime.

The fact that you rely on Wikipedia as a source for all of your arguments speaks volumes about your real knowledge on the Balkans in general and Jews in Kosova specifically. Have you ever even been in Kosova? Do you even know how many Jewish businesses there are in Prishtina? The answer is loads matey.

And please don't give me that 'unemployment' malarkey... I certainly wouldn't want to be lectured by a pseudo-Irishman/Pro-Serbian about the economy or financial matters... last time I checked more Irish people are leaving Ireland today than during the potato famine in the 19th century…. And let’s not even get into the appalling number of failing businesses and debt-ridden state of the economy which guess what?? Will only lead to further unemployment and emigration. So please spare me your lectures about my country’s problems.

But let’s not get carried away, this was an appalling crime… desecrating graves is the lowest thing anyone can do… the dead deserve respect regardless of their ethnicity, religion or race. The truth is everyone in Prishtina knows who’s done this and they will be dealt with very swiftly.
(adrian kola, 2 December 2011 11:18)

Dear Adrian,

1. If you look closely, the wikipedia article contains sources quoted from independent Jewish media. Jews were massacred by the SS Skenderbeg in WW2 and in 1999, they fled Pristina with their lives after the Yugoslav army left. That is indisputable fact.

2. I'm a 100% genuine Irishman born and bred. Why does this bother you? Do you think that we are all 'yes-men' for Anglo-Saxon imperialist agression. You don't like to be lectured about economy, well Adrian at least we have an economy and while we do have our problems, they pale into comparison to the uphill struggle that you people face each and everyday. I dont have to document that problems you have but the first thin off the top of my head if your (lack of) legal status. No tto mention the all too well documented problems of 60% + unemployment, corruption, organised crime which permeates from the bottom right into the echelons of power and the kicker, the economy.

3. Now I have never been to 'Kosova' but i do have K-Albanian friends who give me a very first hand account of the situation there. Some live in the US, others in Pristina. They know of my views and they respect me for them and I in turn respect theirs. Not even the Blessed Padre Pio could pull that one off.

4. Emigration has been part of my people for hundreds of years that I admit, but to say that more Irish people are leaving now than during the Potato Famine (1845-48) is laughable. In that period of time, we lost 3 million people through starvation, disease and emigration (1.5m) so I cannot see us losing that amount in a short period of time.

5) I agree with you on the graves issue. There are no words to describe the sheer depths that some human beings will plunge to when not even the dead are left in peace. It should be roundly condemned.

(adrian kola, 2 December 2011, 09:46)

Thriving, really?

Currently there are very few Jews in Kosovo. According to Čeda Prlinčević, the leader of Pristina's small Jewish community.

The lone Jewish community in Prizren speaks Albanian and Turkish, and has remained for the time being.[5] This community numbers around 50 members, divided among three families. There are no synagogues or Jewish schools. Unemployment is prevalent, and support for the community comes from the American Joint Jewish Distribution Committee. There has been some amount of intermarriage with the surrounding Albanian community. The father of Prizren's Jewish community leader, Votim Demiri is Albanian.[6] Israel has good relations with the Kosovars, with the Israeli government sending massive humanitarian aid during and after the 1998-99 war with Slobodan Milošević's regime.[7] Israel also has strong economic ties with Serbia, and is reluctant to recognize the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo.

If that is the Albanian version of thriving, i'd hate to see your definition of endangered which is more apt here.

The truth is everyone in Prishtina knows who’s done this and they will be dealt with very swiftly.

no one can honestly say that the impoverished state of the Demiri family in Prizren (who happen to be Jews) is proof of anything. truth is, all of kosovo is poor, jewish, muslim, christian. unemployment is at 60%, they're all on the same boat. it is worth noting though that the Ferronikel complex is owned by men of Hebrew faith and that 3 cafes in Prishtina are also owned by a a man of the Hebrew faith, who lives in Prishtina and has never reported any case of anti-semitism. the desecration is an act of gross stupidity, vandalism and insensitivity. it does not show anti-semitism being rampant in kosovo however. there were jewish graves desecrated in Britain 5 years ago, in Berlin etc. no one would suggest Britain is anti-semetic

Niall...not wishing to get involved in your disagreement, but I have to take issue with this point. The Ferronikel complex is owned andrun by people of the Hebrew faith. The Amelie cafe and the Oddysy bakeery in Prishtina are also owned and run by Shachar Caspi, another Hebrew who emigrated form Israel and now lives in Kosovo. The families in Prizren are not having their 'Jewishness' assaulted. They are facing the same struggles that every other ordinary Kovar citizen has to grapple with. It is not becuase they belong to a particular faith, it is beause the economy of Kosovo is so grim. Theres less then 50 Jews in Kosovo (all of which are of Albanian, and not Jewish blood), about a third of what there was before the war, the ethnic Jews were some of the very first to leave with the withdrawal of the Yugoslav army (worth noting that the SS Skenderberg killed the vast majority 50 years earlier), while Kosovo's two remaining synagogues were destroyed in 1999 and 2004 by Albanians.

You talk about Jews owning loads of businesses in Pristina, well for a supposed population that encompases just 3 families in Prizren of which their 'Jewishness' is in question, I have got to take my hat of to the thriftyness of these people and their extraordinary ability to exist in several places at once.

Andy Dufresne.

I would suggest that is shows many of your true feathers and your ability to support an argument by dismissing wikipedia as a source and claiming yourself as one. no where in your fabulous rant did you attempt to provide any form of evidence to support your assertions and claims. Perhaps it is true that your Irish friend does not have the same level of understanding as you a resident might, but simply assuming that because you happen to live somewhere you know everything, and everyone is a rather imbecile belief, and I for one would not consider anything you present as fact unless you've provided your source of information. You wish us to assume that you and all of your neighbours are experts in the goings on, the population densities and employment rates of everyone because you live in Kosovo and speak with a British toungue.
