What on Io are you talking about? There has to be a solution to Kosovo. My question is simple, what do Serbs value more, democracy or Kosovo because they very obviously can't escape that choice.

aaayyy

pre 12 godina

a clear a message as any that Serbs should begin to see reality for what it is. frankly this is monumentous...for a Serb President to admit that Kosovo is no longer a direct part of Serbia is the first step to letting go.
I genuinely have tried to look at the Serbian argument objectively and rationaly and yet I fail to see ANY logic behind it. I have said the choice for Serbia is EU or Kosovo, but in actual fact it is a lot more starker than that, it is Kosovo or democracy. It is seriously surprising to me how it has not dawned on Serbs that keeping Kosovo means keeping the Kosovar Albanians who live there. basically they come as a package. you can't on one hand say Kosovo is Serbia and then say the Kosovar Albanians are not citizens of Serbia. If Serbia wants to keep Kosovo, it has to keep the Albanians of Kosovo. With that, it has to grant them the ABSOLUTE SAME equal rights as to any other ordinary Serb, which means, an Albanain can veto laws in Serbia's parliament, an Albanian will have to be granted the same funds from Serbia's budget and more importantly, an Albanain can run to become president of Serbia. should you say no Kosovar Albanain can contest that office, than you are not true to the principles of equality for citizens, which means you do not believe in democracy. so answer me this, what other alternative does Serbia have other than giving up its claims to Kosovo? Ethnic cleansing is not a viable option
(adriatik, 1 December 2011 19:54)

Right now Kosovo is under FROR/EULEX control. KFOR and EULEX shouldn't try to change borders (make Kosovo independent that is), but concentrate on practical issues how to improve people's life. KFOR should provide opportunity for KSerbs to live in safety all over Kosovo.

Remember "standards before status"? Yet KFOR has been giving in to Thaci's pressure.

The real issue in Northern Kosovo is not Albanians vs. Serbs. I say this because one of the people arrested for the killing of the Albanian special forces policeman was ALBANIAN. Of course the media is not going to make it big because if they do than they have no "story". And the interesting story is Albanians vs. Serbs.
The reality is that Albanians and Serbs in Northern Kosovo were making a lot of money with the way things were before. Cigarettes, Alcohol, Prostitutes, Drugs, Guns everything had to pass through them. All of the sudden a bunch of ignorant Albanians and Serbs in Northern Kosovo found themselves sitting in a gold-mine. So of course they are going to try to keep Northern Kosovo a no-mans land. I repeat the man who shot the policeman in Northern Kosovo was Albanian. And for an intelligent mind that explains everything. The people in Northern Kosovo (serbs and Albanians) like Northern Kosovo to be a black whole because otherwise they would be making no money.
The Albanian in Pristina and the Serb in Belgrade does not win or lose anything whether Northern Kosovo goes to Serbia or Kosovo.
But with the game that the politicians in Belgrade are playing the people and I am sorry to say mostly the Serbian people are going to loose much more.
(Roni, 2 December 2011 06:20)

What's the problem? Just cancel the statement that Kosovo is single custom zone.

Tadic! your presence is no longer needed since you "stabbed" your own people at the back.

The Serbs there would rather see Nikolic or Kostunica and not you. Cowards like you are shameful and don't deserve to be elect in office again.

(Agim Kelmendi, 2 December 2011 08:18)

There will be no barricades next month as there will be no so called "Albanian custom officials" at the so called "Border" crossing between Kosovo and Serbia proper..

Has Pristinas lies confused you? i'm sure no sane person in this planet of ours would accept a kind of rule of law by people who cut off peoples ears, enslave women, traffic drugs and harvest organs to name a few..

This nothing but a facist/racist attempt at wiping out the remaing serb nation in Kosovo, nothing more and nothing less..

For the Northern Kosovo Serb, its a matter of Survival, for the Albanian its a matter of greed....

The Northerners have a valid arguement, both morally, legally and historically.. whats your morals? hate for anything serb?? petty hate? spite?

You can cry to the cows come home, the leaders like Milosevic, Tudjman sat in there offices without seeing a gun during entire wars.. your leaders on the other hand cut off peoples ears, murdered people.. with leadership like this, believe me its only a matter of time before they make a mistake..

Do you want the Kosovar Albanians to be citizens of Serbia too, because you see, they aren't going anywhere? With that, do you want them to have the EXACT SAME RIGHTS as any other ethnic Serb, the right to vote, the right to veto laws and the right to...run for President of Serbia? It's clear Thaci was egged on by Germany in its July action - what a great excuse to deny Serbia its candidacy and let's not forget a date for accession talks despite Serbia doing all that was demanded regarding Hague and talks. Tadic let Merkal know they have been caught out and in no uncertain tell Germany ALL OF SERBIA IN EU OR NOT AT ALL!

What on Io are you talking about? There has to be a solution to Kosovo. My question is simple, what do Serbs value more, democracy or Kosovo because they very obviously can't escape that choice.

PRO-SERBIA

Tadic! your presence is no longer needed since you "stabbed" your own people at the back.

The Serbs there would rather see Nikolic or Kostunica and not you. Cowards like you are shameful and don't deserve to be elect in office again.

What's the problem? Just cancel the statement that Kosovo is single custom zone.
