Again, why is he afraid of the referendum? People want it and yet he won't allow it.
(Peggy, 2 December 2011 11:40)

Who authorized you to speak for the people to say that the people want it ? The PM told the people what he wanted to do with the EU and people agreed and elected him to implement that policy. What is the referendum needed for ? We already know what the people want in regards to the EU.
(icj1, 3 December 2011 17:23)
=========================

Wow, you are so afraid of that referendum taking place.
People wanted the referendum AFTER he was elected. He was NOT elected on the platform of no referendum on whether they wish to remain in the EU or not and you know it.
So why are you making a complete fool of yourself by twisting yourself into a pretzel trying to fool us here?

Do you honestly think that you have the answer to EVERYTHING here because you seem to try to answer all posts.
That just goes to show how much of an ignoramus you really are.

If that's the case why is he so afraid of a referendum.
People have to vote for one or the other. There are only two choices, just like in the US and Australia.
(Peggy, 2 December 2011 11:40)

Well, then it means those are the choices that the people want. If they want a third, fourth, and so on… choice they can create it.
----------

Both parties tow the same line as far as EU is concerned so that is not the reason they voted for him.
(Peggy, 2 December 2011 11:40)

Well, than it means that is the wish of the people, otherwise they would have voted a third, fourth, or fifth option :)

If me and my mates built barricades and blocked off roads in my local village, I'm sure I'd get arrested. Why are these K-Serbs able to get away scot-free?

Belgrade, Pristina, KFOR, UNMIK and EULEX are all against these barricades, time to get tough and send the ring leaders down the nick.
(Ian, UK, 1 December 2011 11:17)

If you and your mates are under threat of being "gavern" by Thaci's "law and order" you will build barricades and block off roads in your local village even if you could be arrested over it.

Peggy that makes two of us as I have no idea when in one second you are stepping in to defend SCP UK's beliefs and the next abandon them to solely support your own. Make your mind up why you are attacking my position and who / what you are supporting.

I don't have a problem with a country being sovereign, I have a problem with the idea that foreign immigrants are invading countries, that homosexuals are sick and that benefits to the poor should be cut. You seem to be upset that I find this right wing view extreme. Why?

Now, do you agree with me, or are you supporting SCP UK's position?

And please let's not talk about footy, Brazil has won the World Cup 4 times, and you Brits just once. You guys have to import all your talent, because the UK has very little of it. As for women, well UK is fine if you like overweight white pasty freckled types...lol. Food....fish and chips, chips and eggs, gets boring after a while. Economy...Brazil is growing and getting richer, you guys are swimming in debt and getting poorer. Weather....foggy, wet, rainy versus beautiful sun every day.
Yeah, Brazil is just a terrrrible place compared to your paradise on earth...lol.
Cheerio!!
(Dragan, 1 December 2011 22:04)

Is that why England is above Brazil in the FIFA world rankings? Is that why England recently beat the defending world champions Spain? We import foreign talent from places like South America, Africa and the Former Yugoslavia because their players are much much cheaper than buying home grown talent from another British club.

British women are brilliant, you have to love British slags!

British cuisine is amazing, variable and world famous, not to mention the recent growth and popularity of British Restaurants in Italy aka a country of food lovers. In fact I've really considered about establishing a restaurant abroad specialising in British and Irish cuisine.

Brazil is really poor and yes their economy is growing, but its not exactly hard for them to make an improvement on their third world economy. The UK economy has been growing in the last 18 months and is scheduled to continue to grow and by 2015 the UK economy is scheduled to be a lot richer than it was in 2008 aka before the economic crisis began. The UK is one of the few countries in the world who's credit rating has improved in the last three years.

In the South of Brazil the weather is much more colder, wet, foggy and rainier than British weather.

Dardan

no Peggy, no one here is suggesting they just 'pack up and leave'...there's plenty of time for that. after all, the EU question is not something that has been making the rounds since today at 2 p.m. It's been going on since Tadic got elected. So the Serbs with EU citizenships, have had plenty of time to join their brethren in Serbia, whom they've been constantly advising not to join the EU and appreciate life as Serb passport holders only in a non EU Serbia. There is a certain hypocrisy there, no? After all, if the EU was so bad, you'd have seen those very Serbs return by now, wouldn't you?
As for privileges, there's plenty. The right to work anywhere in the Union hassle free, the right to study anywhere in the Union on the same fees as any other person of that country, unrestricted residency laws...access to social security in an EU country...want more? No, no, the ordinary Serb in Serbia (not you Peggy, you live away from Serbia) is so much better off outside the EU. You should join them Peggy

Speaking of principles I would have thought that with your support of homosexual rights generally that you would be against people imposing their morality upon others.

Dragan actually if one is conerned about not being politically correct, about having a benefit system that keeps the poor down (and taxes low), about moralising about other people's lives and hating 'ilegal' immigrants, the US is the perfect society in which to hold such views. Most of the shock jocks and the 'patriots' in the US would agree with SCP UK's post entirely. Even the laguange used 'anti communist' would go down very well in the US, as anything anti communist in the US is seen as great.

==============================

You make it sound all so simple. Just pack up and leave.
For most people the country they live is is probably the country they were born in or it is the only home they remember.
Even if only arrived for half of their life it's not that easy to pack up and go. Go where? Do they have a home to go to or a job to go to?
Even if living standards are not great in the UK or wherever for those people, packing up and leaving is losing everything. Even if they went to the "beloved USA" they would not find it easy to fit in, if at all.
So stop with with the go back home rubbish.
It's not easy. It's actually impossible. They have nothing to return to or don't you care? You only want to sound right.

Why would he jump out of the frying pan, and into the fire? The US is a falling empire with a society in total decay. Their education system sucks canal water, their population is aging, they take in approximately 2 trillion per year and spend 3.5 trillion currently. It doesn't take a mathematical genius to see where this is headed - disaster. Without the borrowed money from China, the US would already be in a deep, deep, depression. The Chinese loans have simply pushed it back a few years.

I have always loved this word...strategic. It is said by people who think they understand geo-politics and who think using words like 'strategic' gives them some sort of intellectual authority. What does it actually mean? which country in the world can be deemed not to be strategic? seriously, i do read all sorts of bizarre explanations by, predominately Serbs, but this one does make the rounds a lot more often than the rest. The US wants to contain Russia so they decide to set up a base in Kosovo, far far away from Russia. It is supported in this by the EU directly and indirectly by countries like Japan, Canada, Australia. A more simpler and logical explanation is this, Serbs screwed up in Kosovo, which is why they lost it. Its very very easy to blame others for your own failures. Honestly, grow up

(SCP UK, 1 December 2011 12:24)

What is the difference between building barricades to block off roads in a village in Yorkshire or a village in Vojvodina? Police are going to arrest you no matter what. But arresting people for blocking off roads in Northern Kosovo is some sort of sin apparently and it is considered being oppressive.

You say they're fighting oppression caused by Western politics, yet they're just pawns of Belgrade. Belgrade is the one promoting frozen conflict and ethnic partition by blocking the implementation of the Ahtisaari Plan in Northern Kosovo at the expense of K-Serbs. Belgrade doesn't care about the K-Serbs, they want the K-Serbs to seem oppressed to fuel their diplomatic campaign on the international arena. The Ahtisaari Plan is aimed at giving rights, freedom and civil liberties to the people of Northern Kosovo yet Belgrade is the one blocking it's implementation. Now as I'm obviously brainwashed by western media, where did I get these views and opinions from, from where did I regurgitate these words from? Was it BBC News or was it Sky News, I forget?

How about you leave the UK as you obviously dislike it so much and you stand side by side with these so-called brave Serbs who are fighting "oppression"?

And if British media has had so much of an affect on me, then how come I read so much none-British and none-Western media? I'm probably "ignorant" on such issues because I read so much biased Serbian media or because I watch ever such neutral objective journalism about Kosovo on Russia Today.

It is very simple and pathetic of you to claim that because I have different ethnicity to you and because I have different opinions to you, I am automatically ignorant and brainwashed by the media. I could use the same argument against you.

Also being an ethnic-Serb somehow makes you an expert on the situation on Northern Kosovo? I'm guessing that you have never been to Northern Kosovo, at least in recent years and that all your views and opinions have been shaped by biased media and from talking to other Serbs.

(ben, 1 December 2011 10:02)

Kosovo is a strategic goal for the west which explains the reason they are there. The US wants to contain Russia by connecting Serbia with the rest of NATO controlled territory. They attacked Serbia because Milosevic would not allow the US access to Serbian land to establish a base. These people do not hate Serbs in general, but it’s a good idea to have a boogey man otherwise how can you explain why they are in Kosovo to the average American. KFOR killed 22 Albos because they are expendable and they were not playing the game according to the plan set by the west – whatever that plan is. Meanwhile back at the ranch, the people supporting the Serbs, i.e. Moscow, does not allow that to happen. That is the difference.
The other day the Serbs were not attacked with fire arms, it was rubber bullets and it was used very sparingly. If the Albos did the same, KFOR would have used machine guns on them. Surely you can see how the west treated Albanians in 1999 when they were supposedly bombing the Serbs – they dropped bombs everywhere regardless of whether they were targeting civilians or military. They killed thousands of Albanians and blamed it all on Milosevic.

I've always find it hard to understand one thing, posters like SCP UK advocate that Serbia stays out of the EU, but they themselves choose to reside in the EU, as EU citizens no less, and enjoy the privileges that go with it. Privileges like right to employment, right to residence, right to education in any EU country on the same fees as any other person of that country, right to EU pensions. They enjoy these chances, yet, they do not want Serbs in Serbia proper to be privy to the same opportunities.

From a European perspective though its pretty extreme right wing philosophy.

Your local village bears no relevance to the world so such a comparison is utterly ridiculous, what this is about is people fighting oppression being caused by western political units and ordinary albanian people.

(ben, 1 December 2011 10:02)

Dear Ben,
I think that you know the answer to your own question... If not I will give it to you.
KFOR does not want to play the role of being hitman for the fat cats in Pristina anymore. They realise that you just cant shoot people of different etnicity just because the albanian politicians want that. Atleast not in Europe, in Afghanistan/Pakistan and Lybia its still ok and accepted, but not in Europe. To bad the Albanians don't realise that. But you will, it just will take some time. Then you too will see that the north is lost to Pristina.
In 2004 it was a pogrom with lots of killed serbs, destroyed homes and churches, it was a completely different situation from now. Kfor shot albanians that were murdering innocent people and looting and destroying churches and houses. Any police in the world exept maybe in Albania would have done the same to the organized gangs that were destroying Kosovo at that time.

"Kosovo is a strategic goal for the west which explains the reason they are there."

Dardan

pre 12 godina

Ian, there is a reason why SCP UK does not leave the UK, it is much nicer, much more pleasant and much more richer than Serbia. This is what mr SCP UK should do, since he rages against membership left, right and centre, tear up his EU passport and go and live in Serbia without the benefits that go with being a EU citizen. Its easy to call on others to suffer when yourself are settled.

I have not completely decided where I will move to but it will not be anywhere in the EU. The UK is a country where the good values it had have gone out the window, where the streets are run by teenage thugs which the police are doing a poor job to get rid of, and where under the umbrella of political correctness prioritises the rights of criminals, immigrants who don't work and live of benefits and barely speak English (my family always made the effort from when they first came), and other immoral groups in society over many decent hard working people who are confronted by such problems. There is also no possibility of EU membership anyway because as all intelligent and informed people know there is no possibility of an EU in the future. If KFOR wants peace it must only negotiate directly with the patriotic Serbs of Kosovo, patriots like Nikolic and your allies like Russia. I actually came from the UK last month (I had a visa on my Kosova passport funnily enough) and if what you tell me is true, let the UK immigration authorities get hold of them and deport their sorry asses back to Albania, Kosovo or wherever the hell it is that they come from, or better, have them sent to prison. My original point still stands though, Serb EU citizens, advocate that Serbia does not join the Union, but they themselves are not prepared to live in a non EU-Serbia with Serbian passports only.

Had serbs ,in Dardania (a.k.a., Kosova) ,spent the time, building Houses and Roads instead of Barricades during the last months,we might have been gathered today talking about Housing accommodation 4 Serbs,in North DARDANIA ,as a problem SOLVED.
It is a pity, such a huge amount e Effort and Energy spent for a very cheap, tasteless ''Drama''-Parody.

Belgrade, Pristina, KFOR, UNMIK and EULEX are all against these barricades, time to get tough and send the ring leaders down the nick.
(Ian, UK, 1 December 2011 11:17) Don't make the Serbs mad with logic or they will destroy the British embassy like Iran did. O I forgot Serbs did destroy the British embassy a few years back. Also others they didn't like or didn't agree with the Serbs with a wink from the Belgrade government at that time they'll show you.

In a way, you kinda gotta hand it to Boris. The guy has to juggle Albanians, Eurocrats and Russians to get Serbia in the EU, keep Kosovo and stay in the South stream project. Just because we hear him say one thing publically, it does not mean that he isnt saying the opposite behind closed doors. Commentors here are a bit naive, I can see. This is politics man! @trizo Serbians who vote for the DS coalition tend to believe the same what you wrote. In the early nineties, we were too transparent and we got nailed badly by being open and obvious. The majority prefers to a more covert approach. The same principle divides the SRS from the SNS. The people who hate Serbia give the vote to the LDP.

If you would let me finish, once my finances are adequate I am going to leave the UK it is not possible to move country without the correct funds, it is not my fault I was born here, that is due to the fact I am from a family of Serbian anti-communists who came after WWII. So yes, when I am able to leave I will to do so, away from this hellhole.
(SCP UK, 1 December 2011 15:13)

So basically you're leaving the UK because you're a Daily Mail or Daily Express reader?

And it was you telling me that I'm ignorant because of the media. Isn't that ironic?

Well where ever you go, I suppose you'll be taking a British Passport with you, you won't be wanting to give up your British citizenship will you?

My bet is you'll want to come back after a while. A bit like Lee Harvey Oswald going to live in what he thought was paradise in the Soviet Union, he soon went home.

SCP UK, it sounds like you read the Daily Mail then!
I have spent periods of my life in the UK and still visit but I don't recognise your description.

If only Serbia had half of the living standards (or wages) of the UK, people would be pretty happy.

Perhaps you could stay and with your help BNP might come to power, kick out foreigners, ban political correctness, stop benefits altogether and impose morality tests on citizens.

Joking aside I'm quite shocked by just how right wing you are, its extreme by any standard. Are you headed to the US?

==============================

Thanks to the patriotic K Serbs, Serbia will not be going into that defunctional system called the EU. Thankfully, there are some Serbs that continue to fight for Serbian rights, and it ain't coming from Belgrade leadership obviously. The lies offered up by EU leadership prior to Mladic extradition is in full view..and Tadic wants to associate the Serbian nation with these "thugs?" I'm simply amazed that Germany, the biggest mass murdering nation ever to exist, a nation that butchered 50 million men, women and children, is allowed to even sit a the table of nations and dictate terms to Serbs? Freeking amazing, and they call this justice?

Can you imagine if Serbs killed 1 million albo trolls? How long would it take for us to shake that image? Joke.

Peggy you are not going to go on about how Australia is losing its 'identity' to the East are you?

Or is it the identity of the aboriginies that you champion? You are solely talking about Serbia? Lets not forget the concept of universal principle.

From a European perspective though its pretty extreme right wing philosophy.
