"In Croatia, war crimes pay"

The decision to grant early release to an ex-general guilty of war crimes "confirms that in Croatia, it pays to commit (war) crimes", says Milojko Budimir.

Serbia needs to butt out and let it's neighbours decided what to do with war heroes. Serbia has to realise that people will fight back, even if that means fighting with their bare hands. Let the E.U recognised Croatian Judicial System run as it's meant to. Norac has served enough time and paid his debts to society. I hope his transition back into the community is a peaceful one.

Toni, read the history of Croatia, and Bosnia I Herzegovina before you comment!! Please.... You Know very well That many Serbs live in those two regions, now independent countries. Centuries of Persecution of Serbian people happened in both independent states by none other then the Fascist, Nazi Croat Ustasas, Germans, and to some extent bosnjaks(Muslims). When people Mention Civil war, its a war between One People in One Country which at the time "was" (yugoslavia). So why would it not be a civil war when it was a fight between the people of yugoslavia huh buddy? To tell you the truth Croatia was never a country, Thank the Serbs and Tito that you have a country Croatia on the Map!! Dalmatia and Krajina was Always Separate through out History of the Modern world from Croatia remember that when you try to comment about a countries history. Zoran Milanovic for President of Croatia............. Do you See anything croatian about his name huh?

I deeply wish Croatia and Serbia could make peace with each other, but as long as Serbian media and Serbian people talk about Serbian agrresion on Croatia in the 90's as "a civil war", there can be no peace. Serbia once and for all must admit that in the 90's you have tried to occupy other countries! Serbia must admit you have sent your army, your souldiers and your weapon, and your tenks from Belgrade, Nis, Kragujevac, Cacak etc. to neighbouring countries such as Croatia and Bosnia&Hercegovina! There was no civil war in Croatia! Serbia brutally occupied 1/3 of Croatia. For long 4 years Serbia was dividing Croatia in two parts, blocking its' economy, tourism, transportation... everything! Milosevic, Karadzic, Mladic, Seselj, Draskovic, Kadijevic, they were extremely popular in Serbia at the time. They promised Serbian people they will form a Great Serbia consisted out of parts of Croatia and Bosnia.
So I beg you - for Christ sake - stop talk about it as a civil war. We have to be in peace because we are neighbours. But without Serbia admiting agrresion on Croatia, there can be no peace.
Peace with you!

P.S. As for the article on Norac going out of jail, I would just like to point out that same thing happened with JNA major Veselin Sljivancanin. He was found guilty of massacre in Croatian town Vukovar and in nearby Ovcara, where Serbian rebels, JNA and chetniks in 1991 killed more than 250 patients from Vukovar hospital. But even so, he went as a free man after 2/3 of his jail sentence. Same thing with Norac. It's a common principle of the Hague tribunal...
