And what if Serbia becomes a candidate? There are still many obstacles left. This candidacy is about the tenth hurdle Serbia is taking towards EU membership and it is amazing to see that some people still get excited about it.

You can ask Turkey: if the EU doesn't want you they will always find an excuse. I think it is very unlikely the EU will adopt Serbia before Bosnia. So I think the accent should be on competitiveness and getting trade agreements that don't carry the emotional burden of EU membership.

It is because of this mentality one of the reasons that Serbia will keep getting smaller.
(Une, 20 November 2011 14:32) smaller ? how do you figure kosovo is still serbia under the UN and world watch and sanzak is now quite because it is now 50-50 and nobody supports them and vojvodina is now like 80% serbs and the serbs in bosnia well RS is going independant and will join serbia very soon after and krajina is still not done with and will get eventual autonomy and then own government and this will happen with push and the samin in montenegro more and more are fed up with their fake goverment and wanting to join serbia which half there can and probably will sooner or later and now for you in albania did you know the greeks wan thier lands back and did you know that 35% of albania is none albanian and in macedonia you thought you had 500,000 and it showing more like about 300,000 if that and in kosovo you thought you had 3 million and it shows more lie 1.4 million so what are you talking about and in preshovo you said you had 61,000 and they estemate 30,000 and thats why you albanians dont want to take the census anywhere because of decline so this means your getting smarter and having kids if you could afford it and not putting them in the sreets and those are facts and have been proven already so grow up already and its called borders so you cant go country to country and do their census any more like you did in the past and now you cant put dead people in the census like you did in the past and got busted in kosovo for that census lol nice try though.

Yep, many of Vojvodina's Magyars already have Hungarian passports and are finding out through relatives (already in HU) that life in Hungary is all not what it is cranked up to be. The Magyars can't go off bleating to Belgrade when their lot worsens due to the inevitable slap in the face that is heading Tadic's way from Olli Rehn & Co. this side of Christmas. They have a choice, retain their powerbase and exert their influence in Belgrade from Novi Sad or get on the next train/bus out of town.

Ištvan Pastor if you are so eager to join the EU you are free to move to Hungary
(MikeC, 19 November 2011 21:03)

Thanks, we don't need him. But since he has now Hungarian passport, he can move to U.K., the jobs are there plenty. Like hospital caretaker, janitor, street cleaner.

Ištvan Pastor if you are so eager to join the EU you are free to move to Hungary. In the end it will be Hungary who stops Serbia from joining the EU by making demands not acceptable to serbs in Vojvodina and the rest of Serbia.
