The funny part about all of this is that the rebels have their own agenda which is not favourable to the west. I know I get howled down every time I say something derogatory about the west, but it is a fact that they are run by first class buffoons.

There is no comaprision between leaders of yesteryears and today. To give you an example, in the 1960s and 1970s, the west would have made deal with Gaddafi and left it at that. In the meantime they would have made fabulous profits and everyone would be happy.

Today leaders of the west create havoc by supporting people like the rebels whose numbers include Islamic fundamentalists which even Al Quaida calls fanatics and they then wonder what went wrong. The rational is they remove an old enemy and they will deal with the other problems later. It’s idiotic to say the least.

It's good that people around the world are using the internet to get to the truth and bypassing the lies and propoganda you see every day on the ignorant, mind numbing media. And now they want us to believe that these 'rebels' are a democratic force? LOL They're a bunch of barbarians, we've seen how they treat the captured and wounded.

Not really about oil,
they wanted him dead for the billions of dollars he deposited in their banks. Nobody knows where that money is now, it won't be returned. Nobody can ask for it now. They did not kill him for Libya's oil. Libya's oil is still there as it was before. Just as they were buying oil before from Gaddafi, they will buy it again from those who replaced him. Nothing really changed about the oil.
Of course, I am making this up, just to put another theory out there, I have no proof of it or anything. Cheers :).

Gaddafi got rich off the oil from his country but never helped the poor people in his country. He also killed a lot of his own people too. Gaddafi did a lot of good things but he also did a lot of bad things to his people, that's why he was killed. If you don't know what Gaddafi did and why he was hated by his people, this article gives a great explanation on it.

Sadly all very true. I’m in Sydney, Australia for a couple of days and in today’s Daily Telegraph, a Murdock newspaper, page 27 there is already a small article on Gaddafi’s WMD being found. Naturally, they will try and make a big deal out of something they made up, but like most operations the west takes on it will fail in a big way.

I agree Leonides.. Gaddaffi had too many juicy stories.. democracy only exists in theory... there is nothing democratic about what they did to Libya.. its all about the oil..

Why do we give so much attention to idiots like Gdaffi when the lives of thousands are ignored?
(Bob, 15 November 2011 16:17)

FYI the assassination of a serving head of State is strictly prohibited by U.S.law but then again who gives a damn in US about the law.

As to Gaddafi being an idiot that's the view of Rupert(hacker)Murdoch's Fox News who brainwashes people like yourself on a daily basis. The Murdoch press will never write about Gaddafi's achievements such as the overthrow of the puppet monarchy imposed by the British, the removal of all foreign troops, the nationalization of hydrocarbons, the construction of the Man Made River (the largest irrigation project in the world), the socialisation and redistribution of oil revenues (he turned one of the poorest in the world into the richest in Africa),generous asylum to Palestinian refugees and development aid on an unprecedented scale to the Third World (Libya’s development aid was more important than all the G20 states put together).

Gaddafi stayed true to his word and died like a man in his country. He had more balls than the last four US presidents put together.

I bet some did. I bet some didn't. This is a fairly pointless article.

Gdaffi was a fairly pointless person too. I am not really bothered about him.

I am much more bothered about the thousands who needlessly died because of his stupidity.

Why do we give so much attention to idiots like Gdaffi when the lives of thousands are ignored?

The Overwhelming Majority of Libyans Now want the American Federal and American State Constitutions where there would be Only one Electoral College of the entire Country of Libya, along with 100% Public Funding for Federal and State Elections, and Free and Fair Media time during Election Campaigns as part of their Licensing Arrangements.

This is why the American Elites and their Politicians Deliberately did not tell Muammar Gaddafi and the Rest of the Libyan People that if only they had Insisted on the Improved American Federal Constitutions and American State Constitutions for Libya, then they would have been Safe and Democratic.

This is because under these circumstances, America would have found it very difficult to destroy Libya and have their Al-Qaeda Allies Impose Islamic Sharia Law on the Libyan People against their will, and in contravention of the Human Rights, because America would have been cornered because of its Huge and Undeniable Hypocrisy of Libya.

Jibril was quoted as saying that "one or more foreign powers” he declined to name had an interest in ensuring the former Libyan leader, who was captured and killed last month, "stayed quiet".
B92

This comes from Jibril-Gaddafi's former Justice minister-who on 27th of October made a statement on Gaddafi's death by promising that his killers will be brought to justice. Now he's telling us,what we all knew along, that foreign powers wanted Gaddafi dead to shut him up once and for all.

There is ample evidence of Gaddafi's dealings with the US government, the Wall Street, past and present British and French governments, most of them in complete secrecy.Gaddaffi's arrest and trial would have revealed some very nasty details of collusion and coziness.
Therefore,ICC propaganda notwithstanding,it was absolutely essential for the West that Gaddafi had to be silenced and take the secrets with him to his grave.

The UK, France and Italy have meddled in Libya for their own colonial interests over the last century. The truth is that they have always lied to and deceived nations around the world when it has served our interests.
Now that their banks are insolvent and their north sea oil has dried up and they need the revenue badly, they have overseen the slaughter of tens of thousands, so that they could steal the oil and take control of the country's assets.

The danger for the West is their Libyan adventure may well produce another theocratic regime, this time led by tribes from Benghazi, and their
post-Gaddafi jubilation will be short-lived.
