What a difference a day or two makes. Last time I read Belgrade was not even contemplating a phone call to the mayors of Northern Kosovo and now they are being welcomed.
Too little and too late by the Belgrade sell outs. The mayors are going there with one and only one agenda and a single response to the talks between Belgrade and Pristina with the following - “No we will not accept what you have agreed with Pristina”.
As the Italians say finito la muzica. Back to square one and the stagnation of Kosovo continues, but as the EU standard of living turns for the worse, and they will very quickly, watch the Albanians explode. Kosovo is like a pressure cooker and that is why the US/EU want to open up movement of people to try and release that pressure by allowing them to find work outside Kosovo.
Here is a little prediction, either the west stays as it is and the Albanians turn against them or the west agrees with what the Serbs want. But here it’s also getting difficult in that the Serbs are going to ask for the moon otherwise, the west will get the Albanian boom.
There are reports [link] more than 20 000 of Kosovo Serbs has already asked for the Russian passport. So you may ask Saakashvili what it may lead to cause it’s not necessarily to be the Russian soil where we can defend our citizens. One of these days Tadjikistan has sentenced a Russian pilot for nothing. Now they are in panic after we deported first 300 of their gastarbeiters bringing 50% of their budget. So be careful as “the long hand of Moscow” may quite reach you in Kosovo and Methohija too.
