"Kind of amusing that since there is a financial crisis in the EU that you and others say it is dead. Was not Russia bankrupt to the point it could not provide for its own army just 12 years ago?"

Funny indeed, these comments. Blaming the EU for Greece being bankrupt (they have been bankrupt several times, before, long before EU/€). Not to mention ex-YU with Milosevic's hyper inflation (okay, not technically bankrupt, but unfortunately, the people lost all their money if they didn't convert it to hard currency right on time).

Hey whiz kids, the reason the EU is done is because Italy is too big to bail out. We are not talking Greece or Ireland or Portugal here, we are talking about the third largest economy in the Eurozone.
And as was pointed out below, comparing Russia to Europe is comparing apples and oranges. Russia is a resource economy, with more untapped resources than any other country on the planet. Europe has depleted all its resources ages ago, and needs to import them..from, guess where?? Russia!!
Also, the hyperinflation was caused by brutal sanctions on Serbia imposed by western war criminals, who at the same time helped a fascist government in Croatia (Tudjman was basicaly a Nazi) cleanse his country of all Serbs (that's called Genocide), and helped islamic forces in Bosnia and Kosovo to try to do the same (although they failed miserably this time). Let me know if you two clowns need more history lessons about what really happened (it's called truth).
Cheers!!

Euro finito la musica passato la fiesta.

On a serious note what is happening now and the 1930s bears some uncanning similarities and if people in Europe ignore history at their peril then fascism will take roots in Europe.

I still have faith in ordinary men to wake up and take charge of events. We then and with the help of the internet have a chance to organise and get rid of the monstrous financial elites which have been terrorising the human race and destroying the planet with their greed.

The BIG difference is that Russia is loaded with Oil and Gas, whereas Europe is loaded with crap.

Join what Sarko?? Today the yield on Italian bonds jumped to 7.3%. To anyone who is following this crisis, that means Italy is bankrupt, which means the Eurozone is done, finished, kaput, finito. I knew it was coming, but I didn't think it would come this soon.
We Serbs didn't want to join anyway. Good riddance EU.
Cheers!!

So that the newbies can breath new life into the by-then-comatose EU? Say, this guy's smart after all! Taking advantage of others and their gullibility? :)

"According to him, eurozone countries need to accelerate and deepen their integration while a wider and expanding group outside the currency bloc should stay more loosely connected, Reuters and index.hr have reported"

au contraire, methinks the eurozone will go kaput rather than "accelerate and deepen".
