As I understand it Leonard De Caprio was not on the original Titanic, but perhaps in your version of history he was.

“…I don't remember el capitan telling those violinist to keep playing” – that is why I called it a legend or perhaps story is the right word.

These Albanians wonder why they are treated with little to no respect – a movie, that the best so far.

Chuckle all you want but you might want to remove your head from your backside for a change and pick up a newspaper and see what is happening right now in the world, especially the EU.

Lidington is right, so he might as well be the first person to put pressure on the extremists in Pristina to change their aggressive and unhelpful approaches to solving problems in Kosovo. Albanians have offered nothing but threats and ultimatums - hardly a sign that these people have even the slightest idea of what to do with Europe's most privileged minority in the most multiethnic state in the world :)

If you are truly pinning hopes on Romania over UK Northern Kosovo is the least of your issues.

Unfortunately, Romania is an abused member of the EU and treated fairly poorly. It was rushed into the EU and NATO to form a barrier between Russia and Serbia, while becoming a missile target for hosting weapons to protect the US (and not itself), it has sent soldiers to fight other peoples wars, which were based on lies and deception. Essentially, it is being treated as a second-class country.

It is true that the financial crisis will hit UK harder after all home foreclosure is not a concern for those who cannot afford a home in the first place.

Legend has it that as the Titanic was slowly sinking the Captain instructed the ship’s orchestra to play so as to clam the passengers and stop any panic.
And so we have the British Foreign Secretary making a statement about progressing Kosovo discussions between Belgrade and Pristina and supporting Serbia into the EU.
The first question that comes to mind who is this David Lidington? And what superpower does he represent? Is this man living on another planet that he is so far out of touch with reality on the ground that his mind has blanked everything out?
The UK is printing money in the hope of kick starting its economy. The EU is going through a financial crises we have not witnessed in past history and its asking the BRIC countries to buy their Euro bonds to create a fighting fund to help out the failing economies – they hope to raise 1 trillion Euros but in reality they need more like 3.5 trillion, and the Russians (one of the BRIC countries) have now openly shown their hand as far as Serbia and Kosovo is concerned and this man talks as if this was 1990 and not 2011.
The EU is holding by a thread or as George Soros said the EU is slowly strangling under the weight of its own financial noose and will disappear as a result.
This dialogue is now pointless as it will not achieve the desired result of the Serbs giving up on Kosovo. Tadic et al are finished and even Boris realizes this fact. It was all prearranged with Merkel while in Belgrade giving a stern talk and then the posting of Albanian custom officials on the administrative lines to establish borders and poor old Boris could then start the washing of his hands process.
However, the entire situation has moved on in only a matter of two to three weeks – it is no longer an uneven playing field giving all advantage to the west and the Albanians. It is now turning to our advantage – I thought this would have taken place in March when the Nis firefighting base was established, but perhaps they wanted to take away Tadic’s mask before showing their hand.
As the waters are lapping around the orchestra’s ankles David Lidington is waving the baton playing the Blue Danube. That is the reality of these western politicians.
David save your breath and please take Boris with you.

Lidington pointed out that he did not think that dealing with the issue of northern Kosovo was something that could be delayed forever, adding that the people from the region should understand they would in fact benefit from European integration.
--
Really?? How so, when even the people of Britain want out of the EU? Looks like the EU have tied a Gordian knot and somehow want Serbia to untie it? Well, it's not going to happen and the EU needs to sort itself out first. We can live with candidate status and have access to funds that will modernise our institutions, but we can't solve EU problems, especially those created by themselves. Here is what the Romanian president said yesterday:

"Romania supports reaching a solution through talks, which would stipulate that Serbs in Kosovo are protected and served by Serbian institutions, Basescu said."

In fact, that is the reality now and attempting to change it will get you nowhere. If the EU can't accept that then it's not Serbia's problem, but one of division within the EU. You can sort the mess out yourselves while attempting to change the reality on the ground will cause even further division and instability. Britain and Western Europe really are incompetent when it comes to Balkan issues.
