KFOR removes barricade near checkpoint

Honestly, whats the point in removing a barricade if they're just gonna put up a new one?

I don't get it. KFOR removed barricade made of a truck only to replace it with one made of barbed wire?
Is this correct?

Serbs are allowing freedom of movement but it is being watched closely. Any sign of KiM Albanians at customs points and the barricades go back up.

Well spotted, but you missed the crucial point, they will go down again. KFOR gets paid to play with you, carry on. its Serbs and only Serbs who are loosing in this stupid game. This child-ish game is being seen by International countries and now they understand who we had to deal with until 1999. i am sure you have better things to do than take Kids from Schools and women in to barricades by threatening them that they will loose their work place, what a shame on you.

What good does that do except to strengthen the Serb's opposition to KFOR. Congratulations KFOR on showing your stupidity. You lost an ideal chance to win over the Serbs. Instead, by using force at that barricade, you did nothing more than create further tension. Funny, in another article this morning, NATO is lauding itself for creating peace in the Balkans. As long as they work within their mandate then no problem. Since they agreed to status neutrality then no Albanians at the administrative crossing between Serbs. They can put as many as they like between the Albanian/Albanian crossings. If NATO or EULEX attempt more funny business backed by terrorists in Pristina then we have another problem and they get blocked again. Quite simple really.

It is NOT up to a few dozen vigilantes to allow or forbid anything. Read the Kumanovo agreement, heck even 1244 gives KFOR full powers. If Serbs think that KFOR is not being neutral they can complain to UN, but do not challenge armed soldiers doing lawful work.

LOL! If NATO won the war then KiM would be independent by now and the borders would be secured while Pristina would be calling the shots and have a UN seat by now. Since that isn't the case and NATO handed control over to the UN with UNSCR1244 it seems the fat lady is still in rehearsals.

So maybe that's what NATO told you Albanians and you were silly enough to believe it but we Serbs certainly didn't hear about it. That's why we are still using the Serbian currency up north and have Serbian passports/ID cards, Serbian infrastructure and institutions, Serbian registration plates, Serbian telephone services and so on.

Actually, the sad thing is when you see pictures of German soldiers on our holy land trying to tell our citizens what to do. Of course they are so brave when they are accompanied by heavy weapons & armed vehicles.

The American & German soldiers in Kosovo basically have a 'license to kill' and their sheer arrogance & abuse of power is a provocation in itself.

Germans & Americans know very well how to walk into someone else's country, take control & start giving orders.

All of this because Albanians haven't heard of birth control & don't know how to stay in their own country so they infiltrate others'.

Well like I said, I would love nothing more than to go head to head with a German/American KFOR soldier in Kosovo :)

This is our land and we will not have it taken away from us. It was ours from the beginning and we will never forget this. Just like in Croatia serbs are resisting and fighting for their land and their homes. Just like in Croatia serbs have no future if they are not masters in their own house. If serbs would have accepted and independent facsist state from the very begining they wouldn't be much worse of then they are now. It was always in the interest of the croats to expell most serbs. Just like during WW2 where 1/3 of croatias serbian population were killed, 1/3 driven from their land and 1/3 forced to convert to Catholicsm. Of course you know all this but its not something you want to admit. By accepting Croatias bid for independence a little fewer would have been killed but the end result would be the same. Same with Kosovo. Either they take a chance by resisting or giving up without a fight. Even if serbs in Kosovo experience the same brutal genocide as the serbs in Croatia had to endure, we at least gave them a fight to remember. You croats expelled and killed my people, both in the 90s and during WW2. You got the fascist state that you wanted but it didn't come cheap.

I never heard of any proposal given to the serb minority. Not before the war broke out anyway. I do know of a proposal offered before operation Oluja and perhaps serbs should have accepted it, if at the same time some form of protection could be offered for the minority serbian population. You are right that the serbian leadership abandoned serbs in Croatia. And in all fairness serbian leaders in the past are responsible for the Kosovo problem of today. To some exctent one can understand that other people want to kill you but its hard to realize that often your own kind is just as bad. To me Tudjman, Izetbegovic and Milosevic are equally guilty of the war in the 90s. Milosevic is the biggest anti serbs that ever lived. He betrayed his country and his people. Perhaps if there were some other leaders incharge in the 90s there would have been a different ending. However, that was not the case. We are where we are and that is how it is. Today ordinary serbs continue to suffer for the ill doings by some of its leaders in the past. Our neighbours believe serbs should continue to suffer for something that some of our leaders are responsible for over 20 years ago. What if serbs had the same way of thinking after WW2 ended? Punishing croats, bosnjaks and albanians for siding with Hitler. Just because we had leaders that opressed even their own people doesn't give our dear neighbours the right to set fire to our churches, kill our people and steal our land. That is the case today. How many serbs have been able to return to their homes in Croatia? Look at your leader Jadranka Kosor who is female version of Ante Pavelic. Look at how ordinary serbs are treated in albanian dominated areas of Kosovo. You don't have to be Einstein to realize that serbs today are an opressed people and they will continue to be so until they have been stripped of all their land and reduced to a Macedonian size country.

NATO didn't win anything. The end of the war in Kosovo was negotiated and part of the negotiations was that the status of Kosovo was yet to be determined by further negotiations between the parties involved. If NATO had won the war, then the Albanian unilateral declaration of independence, the UDI, would have been neither necessary nor unilateral.

NATO, in the guise of KFOR, is abusing the terms by which Serbs grant them a peaceful presence in Kosovo. If KFOR continues to abuse the terms by which they are present there, the Serbs have every right, moral and legal, to throw them out.

The worst thing I can think of is if I were a Muslim Albanian who was once a Catholic but was too weak to defend from Turk conversions to Islam.

Knowing that my forefathers 'lost' the battle to keep our identity & religion.

However, I can be proud to say that no matter what happened to my forefathers in Kosovo & whatever they endured they were brave & strong enough to keep true to themselves and their religion in sacred Kosovo.

Half of kosovo is known as dukagjini region, bjeshket e nemuna, and sharri region in albanian, that is basicaly the heart land of albanians known since 3rd century...kosovo field was probaly inhabiteted, it would not be smart to place fortifications in the middle of a field like that, easily conquered :) ...serbs settled in raska [kotorret e reja], nowaday sandjak ...kosovo field was more of battlefield , also, it is a slavic name, not exlusively serbian, it could be bulgarian as bulgarians inavaded it before serbs...

Most of you don't really know what you are cheering for half the time. You want KosovA with a new flag etc but you also wave the Albanian flag around & like 'zogaj' says: Kosova is Albania & Albania is Kosova (simply ridiculous).

You cannot pass down from generation to generation the rich history we have and that is why your government are re-writing the history books.

Second, don't be so gullible to think that if USA or Western countries did not interfere that you would even write that phrase of "Albanians and kosova" Be realistic and acknowledge that you are very weak in power, Serbs are real good at winning battles when the opposing threat does not interfere, for instance the ratio to Albanian Muslims and Serbs, and you guys literally did nothing, its sad to tell you the truth.

Serbs didn't grant can't jack, NATO won the war, Serbs signed at the surrender line and UN authorized NATO's work now. Be careful about throwing out...never who ends up thrown out if it starts.

Then drops them like nothing when it gets to hot and close for Belgrade elites. Oh dear god.. YOU HAVE LOST KOSOVO. No matter how much you pretend it did not happen. It did. The longer you ignore the more your people and your country will suffer. What do Serbians ACTUALLY from pretending they still have any say about anything that goes on south of the Iba?! Serbian leaders have practically purged it economically, socially and politically since the premiership of Josep Broz. And what is this "heart of Serbia" rubbish, if Kosovo was the heart of Serbia you would not have set fire to it. The whole world witnessed the atrocities of 1998/1999. Saying "there are no mass graves,no ethnic cleansing" is just ridiculous. In order to move on from that image, Serbians must let go of the Nationalistic poison they are fed from the second they are born mostly at the fault of their govt. Instead of holding people such as Karadzic and Milosevic as heros, that caused some of the most disgusting actions that will plague all of us for many generations to come. You should be embarrassed that they are associated with you. Albanian or Serbian, Muslim or Christian, we are ALL people!! I simply hope K. Serbs and K. Albanians will stop associating with this violence and let go of this hatred. Focus on creating peace for our children and our grandchildren. May God bless us ALL!

I never heard of any proposal given to the serb minority. Not before the war broke out anyway. I do know of a proposal offered before operation Oluja and perhaps serbs should have accepted it, if at the same time some form of protection could be offered for the minority serbian population. You are right that the serbian leadership abandoned serbs in Croatia. And in all fairness serbian leaders in the past are responsible for the Kosovo problem of today. To some exctent one can understand that other people want to kill you but its hard to realize that often your own kind is just as bad. To me Tudjman, Izetbegovic and Milosevic are equally guilty of the war in the 90s. Milosevic is the biggest anti serbs that ever lived. He betrayed his country and his people. Perhaps if there were some other leaders incharge in the 90s there would have been a different ending. However, that was not the case. We are where we are and that is how it is. Today ordinary serbs continue to suffer for the ill doings by some of its leaders in the past. Our neighbours believe serbs should continue to suffer for something that some of our leaders are responsible for over 20 years ago. What if serbs had the same way of thinking after WW2 ended? Punishing croats, bosnjaks and albanians for siding with Hitler. Just because we had leaders that opressed even their own people doesn't give our dear neighbours the right to set fire to our churches, kill our people and steal our land. That is the case today. How many serbs have been able to return to their homes in Croatia? Look at your leader Jadranka Kosor who is female version of Ante Pavelic. Look at how ordinary serbs are treated in albanian dominated areas of Kosovo. You don't have to be Einstein to realize that serbs today are an opressed people and they will continue to be so until they have been stripped of all their land and reduced to a Macedonian size country.

Half of kosovo is known as dukagjini region, bjeshket e nemuna, and sharri region in albanian, that is basicaly the heart land of albanians known since 3rd century...kosovo field was probaly inhabiteted, it would not be smart to place fortifications in the middle of a field like that, easily conquered :) ...serbs settled in raska [kotorret e reja], nowaday sandjak ...kosovo field was more of battlefield , also, it is a slavic name, not exlusively serbian, it could be bulgarian as bulgarians inavaded it before serbs...
