Personally I would waive 1244 when it suits me then polish my boots with it when it does not.
(sj, 27 October 2011 13:27)

Sure, I'd do the same. That does not change the fact though that 1244 is the law of the land in Kosovo (whether we waive it or polish our boots or something else with it).
----------

With the bailout of the EU coming from the BRIC countries New York is no longer relevant, but id makes you feel better keep thinking like that.
(sj, 27 October 2011 13:27)

Oh, no, I don't feel anything about that. I said New York, because that's where the UNSC is located. I'd as easily say Brasilia, if and when the UN moves its headquarters there. I hope you didn't take it to mean that the City of New York is going to negotiate 1244 :).

Unlike some that think that action is imminent, this is not the case. As KFOR is a military group and they are not given the authority to negotiate with the local Serbs then there is no purpose in meeting with the mayors.
(sj, 26 October 2011 10:58)

Oh, finally, somebody started to understand that resolution 1244 is there to be implemented, not negotiated. 1244 can only be negotiated in New York, not with some mayors of any ethnicity in Kosovo.

Your so-called "ordinary" Serbs are about 100% of the population and want nothing to do with you.
(Obilic, 26 October 2011 11:19)

I think you are in the minority my friend. The majority of Serbs in Kosovo has not decided to declare indipendence from Kosovo, so it is not true that they don't want to live together with the Albanians, otherwise they would have said so, like the Albanians did when they declared their independence.

Just imagine if serbs in 1995 would have listen to the West and give Kosovo its authonomy back. Now Kosovo would have been part of Serbia or a sub state with Rugova or LDK in power and no UCK would have been formed. But they refused.

Just imagine if serbs would have sign the Rambuje agreement.A war would have been avoided and thoudands of lifes would have been saved and serbian army would have controlled serbian populated areas.Rugova or LDK would have been much stronger than Thaci. But they refused.

Imagine if serbs would have talk to albanians just after war in 1999 and tell them and the West.Ok you won the war and lets make peace.Give us North Kosovo and we recognise you as a state. But they didnt they refuse to do those things.

Imagine if few months ago serbs tell albanians and international community.Lets swap the territories and leave in peace as seperate states. But they didnt.

Now after all those lost oportunities are some voices in Serbia to accept Ahtisari plan or to ask albanians to give authonomy for serbs in North Kosovo and leave as seperate states in peace.
It looks that serbs are not going to listen again and by December they will be left with nothing if they dont ask for a deal now.
It looks that mistakes that Milichevic and Kushtunica did, will continued by Tadic or Nikolich. For 40 thousand serbs in North K they will burn 7.2 million in Serbia.Even the math tells you that is a lost couse and you need to cut a deal asap. Can you imagine 40 thousand serbs in North with 4 millioner mayors and several traffic mobs, to block Serbia joining the EU?
The politicians must be more brave to tell people the truth and make hard decisions.
And if not, Serbia will shrink and shrink till will be left with the vylajet of Belgrade...

The west wants to negotiate with Belgrade and Tadic’s sellouts and they don’t want to break this nexus so they are trying to force the local Serbs to go back to Belgrade and patch things up and let Stefanovic continue the abandonment of Serbs in Kosovo. It’s as simple as that.
The use of arms against the Serbs at this point would create a situation that is even more dangerous than anyone could imagine and the west has become even more cautious after their failed expeditions in Iraq, Afghanistan and what is now evolving in Libya where Islamists look like taking over. This is now a cat and mouse game, but it one where the so called cat is unable to catch or eat the mouse but just stare at him in the hope of something changing.
Even the thick headed westerns realize that using force could easily unseat Tadic and someone nastier could come to the forefront and stir up massive problems in Bosnia. The west knows that it does not have the capacity or the power to act against such action, so it’s now using bluff. When you read in between the lines the messages are obvious..

No point blaming Tadica

The facts

The internationals can do as they like in Kosovo and no one can stop them, the difference between now and ottoman/world war periods is that there are hardly any serbs left in Kosovo today, hence the removal of the Northerners is the last hurdle for the Albanian objective..

In Ten years time even if NATO leaves, I cant see the serbs invading Kosovo for a few churches regardless how hopeless the state of Kosovo is..

I just dont understand why the Serbs aren't running a muck in Bosnia, Kosovo is an example where Muslims and Christians cant live together, the serbs are shooting themselves in the foot for not taking the kosovo saga to there advantage in Bosnia..

Declare independence in Bosnia.. as simple as that..

As I have said many times if the west could it would have used force against the Serbs in Kosovo a long time ago, but it has nothing left.
The Serbs just need to keep to this course and show patience.

Lenard,

It's not "your self's" but rather "yourselves" ;)

Anyway, there is no room here for your racist anti-Serb comments. You'll be much happier in life when you use your time more effectively as opposed to coming on B92 to tell us Serbs 'how it's going to end'.

Ahh uhh and when is Mesic with the great Croatian army, all 600 professional soldiers, going to twig posavina? Tomorrow or Friday?
Now what is happening in a fortnight? Is Mesic fit to lead the Croatian army to victory and capture posavina and Brcko? Or are you waiting for the west to hold the Serbs down while your Croats kill them like they did to their allies the Bosniaks? Perhaps you might want to pray for your Croatians that burn Bosniaks alive in their cellars in central Bosnia.
If your still hearing God talking to you the here is another voice - nothing will happen in a fortnight or in a month or six months and this will go on and on until the Serbs get what they want.
Chin up!

Lenard, you are sounding more and more fanatical by the day but you are correct, it is all coming to an end fairly soon, just not how you expected. Regardless of what happens short term (as this cycle ends), Croatians and Albanians are on the wrong side of the next cycle, which will be a very long one.

The West has bit more than it can chew and the tide is now against it so force is needed just to maintain control. However, as the bone gets stuck in their throat, ground will be given for ones very own survival.

Serbs should understand that we are in 2011 and not in 1911 where they use to be the spoilt nation of western powers. USA & EU has not time for these stupid little games of the Serb community in the north of Ibar.
They are to busy dealing with euro and Midle East, however, dear future serbians friends this does not mean you can push them around. Wake up and stop trying to be tough

I can't work out the Math, it seems like the Northerners will be pushed out of the North into Serbia proper!

Obilic

ordinary serbs in that part of Kosovo can live in peace and prosperity with other Kosovans, in democratic Kosovo, which BTW should give a respect to all minorities.

Indeed. I've met several Canadian peacekeepers who served in Croatia/Bosnia, and they told me personally that the wrong side was bombed.

Bulgar of Ohrid, you're missinformed.
Muslims and Christians can and do live in harmony in Kosovo. They even intermarry. Therea are Christian Albanians in Kosovo who have no problems with Muslims.

It makes no difference whether the KFOR commander did or didn't show up to the meeting, either way nothing gets agreed on. All the Serbs need to do is to show strength and unity during these tough times, and hopefully with the help and support from Serbs outside of Kosovo. As for the comment about a "democratic Kosovo", such laughable and incorrect statements have no place here or anywhere.

No comment. He is the highest ranking military personnel in change of KFOR, and he is not a politician.

Though they should have sent an invitation to Pristina, Kosovo government, because somebody eventually will have to sit and discuss this problems.

Most of Serbian community in Kosovo is lacking transparent information from Kosovo or Serbia, because so far they've been completely neglected, and this mayors are representative of different political parties in Belgrade and they represent their own interest rather than anyone else's.

Lets just remind ourself as well that Serbs or Albanians are not some God gifted people either.

Oh, finally, somebody started to understand that resolution 1244 is there to be implemented, not negotiated. 1244 can only be negotiated in New York, not with some mayors of any ethnicity in Kosovo.

I think you are in the minority my friend. The majority of Serbs in Kosovo has not decided to declare indipendence from Kosovo, so it is not true that they don't want to live together with the Albanians, otherwise they would have said so, like the Albanians did when they declared their independence.

In 1999 even Milosevic agreed to partition Kosovo. But US/NATO had said that Kosovo division was out of question LONG BEFORE.
