Patriarch emerges as "most vocal opposition"

Beautifuly said by the head of our church.

'In early October, while visiting the SPC monastery of Mileševo along with Russian Ambassador Aleksandr Konuzin, the patriarch said that the Serb nation has had "many friends - at least that's what we thought - many of whom sided with those who do not like us, and who hate us."

"We stand with few friends now, but we have our greatest friend, the Russian people," concluded Irinej.'

Again, thank you Irinej. I have been saying this for years. The EU wankers are not our friends, they have done everything in their power to weaken Serbia and make her smaller. We should have given them the finger a long time ago, just like Irinej says (although in a more diplomatic manner).

Obviously I don't have a problem with all 500 Million EU citizens, just the ones running the EU and pushing anti-Serb policies on everyone. It is ignorant to believe you can somehow guarantee Serbia will never control Kosovo again. Kosovo is simply under occupation. Yes by you Albanians, but you people are not a challenge for us, it is the West that is occupying this part of Serbia. The way the current economic conditions for the West are heading right now, you can't honestly believe they will be there to protect you forever, can you? One thing that upsets me even more than Albanians coming on a Serbian site daily to troll because they have nothing better to do with their lives, is Serbs who talk down on Russia. Somehow if Russian's have ANY other interest on top of traditional brotherly relations that it is somehow bad. It is quite alright for the West to use and abuse Serbia for its own interests but Russians should ONLY help us out based on our cultural similarities. I don't have a problem with Russians trying to come into our market, it makes me feel Serbia has something to offer other countries and doesn't just have to be a charity case like our illegal aliens in our south.

How dare those Russians build a portion of the most important gas pipeline Europe will have through Serbia? How dare they give us energy security in exchange for 51% of NIS. The fact that Western private companies right after October 5th, 2000 were buying up businesses in Serbia at dirt cheap prices is not a problem however. Especially when you consider the only reason those prices were so cheap is because Western countries bombed Serbia for 80 days and ruined her entire industry.

No that's ok! But giving Russians a discount on NIS in exchange for energy security and the most important gas pipeline in Europe built on a significant portion of Serbia's territory which will almost instantly boost Serbia's geopolitical importance..NO those damn Ruskies are at it again. Keep in mind the South Stream did not have to go through Serbia. It could have went through Hungary only completely bypassing the Southern Balkans. Russians made changes for Serbia's best interest and I have no problem giving them a discount on NIS because of it.

In the UK parliament is sovereign to the extent that, even if held (and they rarely are), the results of a referendum are not binding. Parliamentary democracy is far from perfect, but many countries consider it to be preferable to the alternatives under which so many people have suffered in the past. You suggest that 500 million people are no longer participants (willing or otherwise) in democracy because their governments make decisions. Well that's how it works, otherwise we would need a referendum on every decision taken. This of course would be a disaster, particularly on issues such as the minor details of foreign policy. Many voters in the UK couldn't distinguish between Serbia and Slovenia, Slovakia or Siberia. And I'm sure that for most, such matters are of little interest or consequence.

Sorry, but I don't think that a newly democratised and empowered populace in the EU would result in any changes to what's happening around here.
