He is really something :-) Ok, in terms of "freedom of movement". What the Serbs did was, they freely moved a lot of staff onto the road, finally themselves. So: strict interpretation of 1244... ;-)

Not sure what you are trying to say; you are a little bit convoluted... what staff, roads, Serbs, themselves, etc... are speaking about ? where did you read that strictly in 1244 (the Arabic, Chinese, English, French or Russian versions please, not the Serbian one) ? Gather your thoughts and try to be more clear.

"Kosovska Mitrovica Mayor Krstimir Pantić said the convoys of the NATO troops were offered to be able to "periodically pass through the municipalities in the north, but this does not mean they will have full freedom of movement"."

I think that is an excellent compromise if Krstimir can get Russia, China and the others in the UNSC to agree with him and change resolution 1244 to add "partial" in front of "freedom of movement" as one of the KFOR mandates in Kosovo established by resolution 1244.

Stay strong fellow Serbs - our spirit is too strong to be defeated by NATO/KFOR for more sinister objectives. This is Serbian land and won't be taken from us!

"They have no problem with the customs by Eulex which will be done according to the laws of Pristina as long as the 1-2 Albanian customs agents who really were not functioning are no longer there? "
(pss, 18 October 2011 13:59)

That's how I understood the situation. But you are wrong, EULEX is not acting according to the laws of Pristina, but it is status neutral and only should implement the agreement reached in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue regarding the famous 'custom stamps' and CEFTA free trade.

"all KFOR should do is seal the border. that's it. serbs will remove the barricades themselves after that. either that or they'll starve to death"

adriatik

If Serbs did that it would be a warcrime but I guess its ok for NATO and to trap Serbs and let them starve. KFOR is not albanians. The world knows what your maffia criminal politicians are capable of but KFOR wont do anything of that sort.

What? What is KFOR supposed to do? Seal the provisional boundary line? Eventually an excellent idea! So reasonable! So feasable! A break-through! Why did this occur to nobody else so far?

Zvečan Mayor Dobrosav Dobrić is at the Rudare barricade where he told reporters that the people expect KFOR "to take (ethnic) Albanian customs and border police back to where they brought them from, while the people will then remove the barricades in a peaceful atmosphere".

This would be a good compromise, and the EULEX is responsible for the checkpoints and the implementation of the trade agreements, which is part of its task delegated to it by UNMIK.

While I agree it would be a temporary solution, it is merely sweeping the problem under the rug. It also really greatly downgrades the Serb gripes. They have no problem with the customs by Eulex which will be done according to the laws of Pristina as long as the 1-2 Albanian customs agents who really were not functioning are no longer there?
It would make more sense to keep the checkpoints and any alternate roads closed to all customs goods until some type of agreement be reached between North Kosovo Serbs and Pristina.
The other checkpoints are open so goods can pass, may be inconvenient but doable.

"protect their homes with bodies'. what a stupid point. KFOR isn't going to attack their homes! talk about exaggeration. all KFOR should do is seal the border. that's it. serbs will remove the barricades themselves after that. either that or they'll starve to death
