I am surprised this way of putting the problem came out so late. It is a very original way to put it: "Join the EU to protect Kosovo". How did nobody think of that before? So far these two words, EU and Kosovo, have been put under all sorts of relations between them. Have both EU and Kosovo, or no EU without Kosovo, or no EU and no Kosovo (from some in the albanian side). But join EU for Kosovo, this is a new one. Congratulations to Delic, very inventive.

Bozo, the clown, has been awarded a pencil by the "friends" of Serbia.
But, since there's no document to sign, Bozo, now is a sad clown.
Stop dreaming Bozo, loans have to be paid back, there's no free lunch !!!
Don't beleive that France will share their huge agricultural subsidies with Serbia!

Two things about Djelic, he is either utterly stupid and not fit to hold such a position, or he is setting out to cripple Serbia, both are true in my opinion.

As argued below, EU membership will indeed cripple Serbian agriculture. Also lets not forget the huge taxes that Serbs will have to pay to run the bureaucracy in Brussels and fill the pockets of EU overlords. Djelic must have been so indoctrinated while he was studying in the West, how convenient that an American educated Serb ended up in such a senior position.

Why is that Mr. Djelich? So, you can prosper like your father and grandfather while the rest of us flip the bill??? I don't think so hot shot!

"Hmm. Iowe. Well, I'm not sure if I understand the same math as you do, but I figure that 1.4 billion minus 250 million = 1.15 billion.
(Danilo, 16 October 2011 14:19)"

My point was that 1.4 bn in 2021 may not be worth 1.4 billion today, especially at the rate the euro crisis is unfolding ..... So for you to use 2021's 1.4 billion to directly deduct against today's 250 mn is, well, naive in my view .....

In fact, I would even question whether the EU itself will still exist in 2021, to say nothing of its currency.

Agriculture will benefit? What kind of drugs is this guy on to think that? Almost every eastern european nation that joined the EU saw their agriculture get devastated. Our agriculture can not compete with the highly subsidized huge agrobusiness of the west. On an open market we stand no chance, just like others in eastern europe stood no chance. What is the point in taking a little bit of money for the purpose of hurting ourselves? No thanks.

"Đelić said that Serbia, as a EU member state, could get around EUR 10bn for agriculture in a period of seven years.

“Compared to our agricultural budget of EUR 250mn a year, this is an enormous, crucial amount for this strategic sector,” he concluded."

Hmmmmmmm ...... our dear Mircea predicted, if I recalled correctly, that Serbia can enter EU in 2021 at the earliest ..... given the eurozone problems, I wonder how much that fantastic Eur 10 bn (actually approximately only Eur 1.4 bn spread over 7 years) will be worth viz-a-viz Eur 250 mn today ...
