Do not pretend you do not not what this is all about. That is cynical and inhuman.
(balkanbert, 16 October 2011 17:58)

Of course I know what this is about… This is about implementing UNMIK regulation number 2 of August 1999 that introduced customs for Kosovo and somebody has to enforce those customs that UNMIK has decided. How is that cynical and inhuman ? And even if it is, go and complain with UNMIK or its superior, the UNSC – hopefully they will agree with you and order UNMIK not to be cynical and inhuman.

The entire policy of the rulers in Pristina is a major violation of basic civil and human rights standards, directed against democracy, peace and stability in the Balkans region.
(balkanbert, 16 October 2011 17:58)

Please don’t make Pristina more important that it is.

Clear up the confusion as to why the international community had to get involved in the first place????
(Think about it., 15 October 2011 23:01)

You clearly haven't thought enough about it if you believe what you wrote. Yes, Serbs want dialogue without any unilateral moves. Yes, Serbs want solutions through negotiations. And everytime Serbs call for dialogue, unilateral moves are done by the Albanians. Everytime Serbs call for negotiations through dialogue, Albanians make some noise about "imposing" some sort of "law and order" which only reinforces Serb determination to defend what's theirs.

What solutions have the Albanians offered beyond "respect my authority"? None. I've thought about it a lot harder than you. :)

Just continue with these statements because they are so revealing. Clear cut evidence what man you are. And as a matter of fact, there are too many other statements like your´s. Are they indeed representative for the majority community in "Kosova"? Pretty much encouraging for EU citizens like me to open the door for them leading to Central and Western Europe. It will create a lot of new jobs in our judiciary and law enforcement agencies.

(icj1, 16 October 2011 04:04)

Do not pretend you do not not what this is all about. That is cynical and inhuman. It is Thaci´s declared goal to gain control over the North and the deployment of a handful of "custom officers" is only a first step into this direction. He wants to impose his mortal "rule of law" on the overwhelming majority of people, e.g. using the regimes´"judges" - "judges" he wants to send in one of the next steps to North-Mitrovica as he announced. Few days ago the "New York Times" (now probably anti-Albanian as well?)gave its opinion about the judiciary of "the Snake":

"Intimidation, fear, clan loyalties and a culture of silence have long impeded the development of a functioning justice system in Kosovo, analysts say,..." (New York Times on 6.10.11 with respect to Kosovo - after the "sudden death" of another brave person willing to stand witness against the criminals ruling in Pristina.

The entire policy of the rulers in Pristina is a major violation of basic civil and human rights standards, directed against democracy, peace and stability in the Balkans region.

Ignoring this and playing down the criminal energy of the "Snake´s" regime is exactly what I stated above: Cynical and inhuman.

"BARRICADES"From my perspective,Serbs should remove barricades under following conditions:No Kosovo Albanian's authorities can exercise any kind of controls on the territory of Northern Kosovo. No check points of any kind on administrative borders with Serbia manned by Kosovo Albanians.
The statement I made here meets all the elements of UN resolution 1244.
(Luke Buyenovich, 16 October 2011 06:09)

Your statement meets all the elements of your mind; your conditions are written nowhere in the Arabic, Chinese, English, French or Russia version of 1244 (but they may be in the (in)famous Serbian version).

KFOR mandate is to maintain law and order,NOT to facilitate creation of Kosovo Albanian State.
(Luke Buyenovich, 16 October 2011 06:09)

Resolution 1244 says that KFOR mandate is to ensure the "freedom of movement" in Kosovo.

The presense of KFOR and US simply depends on the stability. You know there have been plans of several countries (including Germany) to reduce the troops by end of the year.
(Analyst, 16 October 2011 13:13)

Balkan Anthropologist,

It might seem to you this is a joke, and why not, since clearly you are not on the barricades day and night and most probably you have never been there. We have to give it to this poor people for trying to achieve something.

This Serbian strategy of trying to have "our own" was tried in Croatia and it didn't work at all for Serb people of Krajina. A similar strategy was tried in Republica Serbska and to this day corruption and poverty is what this people are going through, Montenegro didn't having it either.

Serbia is been in peace for past 12 years, stay that way.

Just 1 week ago Russians said they can not come back since they do not want to be in conflict with NATO for Serbia. So hence no Ruski base is happening any time soon you think its issue 50K serbs in north being unhappy you shall see what unhappiness is if Russian came back and Russia does nto want to be embarrassed like they were in 1999 where they starved in airport.

Russians are complaining about money being spend in caucusses let alone if they bring solders in Serbia and how will they do it flying through whose airspace you know they have to go through Nato to get there as Russia needs to give through to pass to other countries it will need to send its solders to Kosovo. In 1999 they went through from Bosnia no that is not possible any longer.

Serbia jig is up let people live in peace since North Kosovo is not about people Serbs nor Albanian as Stefanovic said it about minerals underneath and why would Hungry French, Germans, British and Americans let it happen to go to Ruskis hands sorry not a chance so there you have it most you get is special autonomy but not same as Rep Serbska with no veto right in parliament just on Education, cultural and healthcare issues in Northern part, they did make a mistake once.

Let the shared keep going and then it will be solved Serbia is in no possition to go to war and everyone knows it so they will push you this is world we live in as they will push K-albanians to give things they are not ready to do but world has decided like this as it was in Serbias favor after WWI and WW2.

The presense of KFOR and US simply depends on the stability. You know there have been plans of several countries (including Germany) to reduce the troops by end of the year. But that was before Thaci decided to created new trouble in the north and endanger the fragile peace by unilateral actions. Now nobody thinks any more about reducing KFOR troops. Thaci needs the presence of KFOR, with the money they spend there they are an important factor of the almost non-existing economy in Kosovo.

So far Kfor has been very tolerant of Serb antics in the North, that soon will change. I hope the Serbian gov't, who is behind this attempt to destabilize Kosovo and provoke a response from Kfor, will realize that their charade is not fooling anyone but themselves. There will be stability North of the Ibar river with the Kosovo gov't in control, even if it takes Western force to accomplish this.
