I'm not a Serb. I'm an American.

If I was you I’d keep it a secret as you are seen as tiresome meddling windbags that screw up everything they touch including your economy.
I have far more respect for people that openly state who they are and not hide under an assumed identity.

Is anyone surprised that the Serbian Church is supporting those who are setting up baricades? I'm sure not.

As Dawkins said, religion is the root of all evil!

Are your parents American too?

I don't think I will bother commenting on your last post to me. It's beyond words.

Yes, this would be interesting - almost as interesting as the question how many centuries most of the the socalled 'Kosovo Albanians' were living there. Or, lets say, how many of them were offered to move to Kosovo from Albania under Tito.
(Analyst, 15 October 2011 13:33)

Don't be ridiculous.
During Tito not even a fly could cross to Kosova from Albania.

"Patriarch calls on northern Kosovo Serbs to persist"

Does anybody find it weird for the patriarch to go in the middle of southern Kosovo where Serbs coexist with Albanians without major incidents and call for northern Serbs to do the opposite?

Danilo

@ Peggy.

Well, being educated, intelligent and handsome like me, I'm sure they would think I'm pretty awesome. Also, it's likely that they'd be just in as much dismay as I am at the terrible state of Serbia

Thanks for your interest :)

A spiritual leader should be that, a spiritual leader. I read the other time that he told Serbs to sacrifice themselves for Kosovo. What does the Patriarch have to lose by encouraging others into militancy? Nothing. It doesn't affect his wealth, his status or for that matter his personal security. Let HIM go to Mitrovica and take battle. Frankly the Serbia church is the vessel of Serbian nationalism and as long as it has them in its grip, it'll be hard for there to be any sort reconciliation from the wars of the 90's

Politics and religion work hand in hand. Just think about the great Turkish sultans who were also excellent caliphs.

In this case, problem is Patriarch has no political powers anymore, but would want. Also orthodox faith very problematic.

In Otoman empire no seperation between religion and politics, so people were very happy.

Not sure what Miroslav is speaking about ? In case Serbs want to protect themselves from Albanians, they should erect barricades in the roads that link them with the Albanians, not the road that link them with Serbia !!!

Am I missing something here or Miroslav was too high in the heavens speaking with his boss to really understand what's going on in Kosovo.

Every state when operating under normal conditions has nothing to do with religion or vice versa.
If the normal situation is replaced with anarchy, genocide or a given occupation of the people all the changes up side down.
First, politicians should not have permission to come to the moment of destruction and displace struggle to survive before they counted zero.
Islam is spreading rapidly across Europe is an obvious example of Kosovo displaced 250,000 Serbs from their homes.
All the Serbs have left as they did not like Kosovo than the pressure at the lowest level of Islamists in every village, from artificial independence 10 yr ago.
Other evidence is 250,000 Albanians had not moved in Albania like serb in Serbia.
Did Pristina wanted to help Serb in Kosovo? -no way. Who is now left to encourages remained Kosovo Serbs. Only church don't wanted to see his people to be totaly destroyed at end with a pointed finger at the Serbs in Kosovo of Albanians, Europe etc.. I give full support to the Orthodox Church for serb land.

trizo

pre 12 godina

Put up roadblocks on their own land which they have lived on for centuries - EXACTLY.

They should not and will not give up on protecting their SERBIAN lands.

The hunger for power in Pristina is rife and they do not need to extend their arm of the law to the North.

We will never live under Albanian rule & law so just remember that this is EULEX decision to remove barricades etc.

This is our land and our religion and if you don't like it then that's your problem and that's exactly why there IS a problem.

Just be happy that you have the control in Pristina (for this decade) but stop thinking you'll run the North because it won't last.

What happened to the Serbian Church my great-grandparents were priests in?

This isn't a church, this is a petty lobby-group.

This is putting a lot of pressure on Tadic and his government as it should be.
For those intellectually challenged and make claims of “Serbian clerics interfering in politics”, the Catholic Church does the same if it’s in their interests.

If you hate what you see here then why not join your Albanians mates and that will make things much happier than trying to pretend you are a Serb.

Again, Serbian clerics interfering in politics. There is no surprise why they have to barricade themselves into their monasteries. Igniting hate and then afterwards whining when it backfires..
