Croatia: War crimes general's birthday marked

The birthday of a General from Tkon celebrated in Knin???

Apart from promoting the rabid nationalists of HDZ, the only other possible conclusion is that this type of event is deliberately designed to upset Knin's remaining Serb population, sending a message to them that they are not welcome and warning those Serbs who want to return not to do so.

A high-profile leader from each nation involved in this war had to be tried and found guilty in order to justify the EU's initial (and stubborn) stance that "all parties are guilty of this war".

Looks like Ante was the one that had to take the bullet for Croatia to join the EU and confirm the EU's original position. It's funny that the other generals involved in Storm were not tried or even questioned by the Hague. Gotovina was just too perfect, and was the man they wanted from the start. Even with solid proof (videos and documents) that he tried to prevent all war crimes from happening during the operation, his whole trial and verdict were already predetermined.

The Hague even contradicted themselves with the accusation against Gotovina as the cause for the Serb refugees, yet in the Milosevic trial they use the same argument against Milosevic stating that it was HE who ordered the evacuation causing the Serb refugees. Well...which is it?

The Hague should focus their efforts on trying REAL war criminals on this planet, and only then can it be anything more than just another political tool.

i asked my brother to put his two cents in over this clear display of intolerance and insensitivity towards croatia's oh-so harassed serb minority communities. sadly he chose to remain quiet about calling for a need for tolerance and criticizing the zgrb regime's agit prop.

I have been a HDZ member since 1990 and not only support the break up of BiH but support those that gave their all to assure Croats have a homeland they can enjoy. Just because a Kangaroo court in the Hague have demorilised war heroes from all sides it doesn't make them criminals. It makes me laugh when un-eduacted Carla De-ponte sentences Gotovina the Serbs say it's the right decision but when a Serb gets sentenced it's the west trying to puinsh the Serbs lead by puppet De-ponte. Get your facts right all of you..!
