Yes 13 million did apply for the green card lottery and the vast majority were from impoverished countries
(sj, 9 October 2011 23:03)

Well, there are so many citizens of the Chinese paradise that immigrate to US that the US had to exclude them from the green card lottery. But let’s assume you are correct; even if these 13M are impoverished, why would they go to the US misery and not the Chinese paradise ?!

meanwhile over 400 000 highly qualified Americans (doctors, academics, nurses) have applied to migrate to other countries this year alone as the situation is worsening.
(sj, 9 October 2011 23:03)

Sure, and I say 400 and another poster here may say 400,000,000. Let’s find out who is correct :)

In fact a recent poll found out that a high proportion of skilled Americans would migrate given the opportunity simply because of what is going on.
(sj, 9 October 2011 23:03)

Yep and in fact a more recent poll found out that a high proportion of skilled Americans would not migrate given the opportunity simply because of what is going on.

So on the one hand skilled Americans are leaving or want to leave while on the other the unskilled want to migrate to the US. As far as this is concerned its simple maths, moving to the US is better than living in Liberia or Chad or Albania.
(sj, 9 October 2011 23:03)

Well, the average citizens of Albania had the same income as the average citizen of China. Since China is a paradise, I don’t get your point.

There is a very large number of foreigners who live and work in China today and these people do not work for peanuts. China Russia Brazil etc are the next powers of the world so you can go and cry into your beer if you like.
(sj, 9 October 2011 23:03)

Good for them and I fully trust you that they are the powers of the future. But I’m more concerned about things that happen during my lifetime, not things of centuries from now. As of now, the average US citizen earns 6x the average Chinese citizen. And I make decisions with my pockets my friend not based on memories of 600-years old battles.

That is why Kosovo is kept on the boil and will not be resolved until its in Serbia’s favour.
(sj, 9 October 2011 23:03)

That’s good. Kosovo is fine the status quo; if Serbia is fine, too, than everybody is happy and we can wait at eternity for the resolution in Serbia’s favour. I don’t think any Kosovo Albanian would oppose that.

I imagine that the US citizens are enjoying their current situation so much these huge demonstrations are only being organised because people want to take their slippers out for a stroll?
(sj, 9 October 2011 23:03)

Well, first they are lucky they are not in Serbia where parades are not allowed (let alone China or Russia). Second, they are not demonstrating to go to China :)

The US collectively now owes not $15 trillion, but $47 Trillion and increasing fast. This is comprised of Federal and State debt. This last amount does not include the unfunded liability of something in the order of $115 trillion.
(sj, 9 October 2011 23:03)

And then what ? That’s much less that what many other countries have. And people who put their money where their mouth easy would feel much more comfortable to lend to US than China or Russia.

When this goes BOOM I’d rather live in Serbia than anywhere in the US.
(sj, 9 October 2011 23:03)

Wooow, you know, I was having the same type of thought last night. Since the sun is going to explode 5B years from now I want to start looking for another planet in another solar system. When the sun goes BOOM I’d rather live in that other planet than anywhere on Earth. You see that means really having a sense of forward looking and taking all necessary precautions.

Watch what happens in the next two to three weeks as the authorities cannot hide what is happening to the US economy.
(sj, 9 October 2011 23:03)

Oh finally. We got the date. So in three weeks we should see the BOOM. Thanks man, we’ve been impatiently waiting for years your predications to come true so our wait will finally be rewarded.

Once again we have the misfortune of having to read more threats from Rexhepi and his merry gang regarding the removal of the barricades in the North when he states,“It should be assessed what kind of level of force should be used and whether there could be violence". Is there any real need for an individual in his position to incite more trouble and ill feeling towards the citizens of North Mitrovica ? We continue to read from the main actors involved,Ban Ki Moon, EU in Brussels and several other Head of States as to how there should be no unilateral action taken by either side (obviously directed at Pristina) and that the only way forward is to resume mediated dialogue. Then we read the above statement by Rexhepi which looks like another case of "time to cause more trouble in the North in the hope that the Serbs react, then we can blame them".I firmly believe that it is now time for the Pristina comedy show to be firmly put in thier place, removal from the position that they hold would perhaps be a good start.

Thaçi and Rexhepi statement about removing the barricades, is just some posturing, the first attempt to sneak Special Police to the Boarders failed and they needed military assistance to rescue them, now you want to try it again.
You need to remember history Thaçi and Rexhepi, Serbs never folded, they maintained their religion, language and more importantly their culture during the rule of the Ottomans, Kosovo is rightly part of Serbia and those folks in the North of the province are defending their homes. That is the reality on the ground.
Thaçi and Rexhepi, you embarrassed yourselves with the last attempt to take the boarders by sneaking in at night, only to get your tails slapped. You call yourself a country, well if that is the case why do you need to sneak into a place at night that is “yours”. You cant even maintain your own security.

If nothing comes from the discussions with the EU facilitator Robert Cooper, then the serbs of northern Kosovo should act. Maybe on Wednesday or Thursday, they should peacefully march over the administrative line and cross back and forth bypassing the official border crossings. KFOR will move in, but do not fight them, though do not obey them. Use the non-violent resistance of Ghandi and Martin Luther King to achieve the goals of not having any Kosovo customs officers at the crossings, and maybe even demand for KFOR and EULEX to leave northern Kosovo.

Or maybe save that part for after the next Serbian elections next spring.

I think the recent comments of the KFOR commander are a far more reliable basis for a prognosis regarding removal of the barricades by force:
The KFOR commander does not want to spill more oil into the fire.

The Count of Kosova

It's all summed up in the Kosova Hit Song "Goodbye Serbijo, Goodbye Serbijo".

If you haven't heard the song yet, you really must. The song will spell out exactly what is about to happen again to the Serbs.

I surmise it will take all of a day and a half for the EU and NATO to give them a reality slap and order them to shut up because while the prior are no friends to the Serbs, they are far more realistic than the latter.

Another attempt of Pristina to spill oil into the fire.

I think the recent comments of the KFOR commander are a far more reliable basis for a prognosis regarding removal of the barricades by force:
The KFOR commander does not want to spill more oil into the fire.

And the removal by force would spill more oil into the fire !

By the way, great photo of Rexhepi and Thaci: They look like what they are:
Little ham actors with a criminal background governing a third world country !

Big Bad Albanian: Little Serb! Little Serb! Let me establish law and order!

Serb Resistance: Pound salt!

KFOR: Dude, you're not helping the situation with your incessant ranting and ravings

Big Bad Albanian: Then I'll Huff! And I'll Puff! And I'll yell some more into a microphone!

Kosovo's leadership is so unbelievably stupid I really pity people like Dell having to work with them

BTW B92: I love the picture of Thaci and Rexhepi. They look like two sleazy car salesmen :)

They look like brothers on this photo. Then again all kosovo albanians are pretty much brothers and sisters. One great happy family...lol

Kosovo Expat

pre 12 godina

Matt

pre 12 godina

Continue the barricades and protests!

PRO-SERBIA

Thaçi and Rexhepi! Your KLA/KPS are NO MATCH to the Serbian Army. you can never remove the Serbs in Kosovo coz the whole province belongs to Serbia.

Bam Bam

Maybe minorities in Serbia proper should start erecting barricades. That way the citizens of Beograd can see what it's like when anarchy and chaos comes to their front door. Never will Kosova be Serbian!

Pls say it ain't so!!

LOL yes "for 30 min" and that's about all before the Serbs retaliate. We saw what you people attempted to do in July. As I recall, you were blocked by barricades, ordered to retreat by KFOR after it was known the Serbs would fight back, and one of your own got shot. Sorry kid, Albanians aren't known for their military expertise :)

Yes, and the Serbs there shouldn't allow criminal smuggler groups to join them only to create violence, like it has been in the Jarinje incident - it shades a bad light on their cause.

Here he is, the Lord of the rings. How is the US going? I hear there are enormous demonstrations against the ever growing poverty in the land of opportunity. Have they managed to return some of the industry to the Detroit?
The US is now blaming the EU for all the financial problems when they were the ones who start all of this mess ha, ha, ha, ha, Enjoy your misery.

Minorities in Serbia Proper have no need to erect barricades. Serbs get along fine with everyone else. The only problems are in Kosovo, which are caused by Albanian extremism.

(sj, 9 October 2011 12:30)

Oh, no need to ask them to enjoy their misery. The average US and European citizen is already doing it, i.e. enjoying the misery of having an average income 6x more than the average citizen of the Chinese paradise and 5x more than the income of the average citizen of the Serb paradise. Indeed it's not a suprise that 13M people applied last year for the green card lottery eager to join the US misery.

For some reason we don't see millions trying to immigrate to the paradises on earth of China, Russia, Serbia, etc. People are so irrational and want to live in misery :)

Yes 13 million did apply for the green card lottery and the vast majority were from impoverished countries, meanwhile over 400 000 highly qualified Americans (doctors, academics, nurses) have applied to migrate to other countries this year alone as the situation is worsening. In fact a recent poll found out that a high proportion of skilled Americans would migrate given the opportunity simply because of what is going on.

So on the one hand skilled Americans are leaving or want to leave while on the other the unskilled want to migrate to the US. As far as this is concerned its simple maths, moving to the US is better than living in Liberia or Chad or Albania.

There is a very large number of foreigners who live and work in China today and these people do not work for peanuts. China Russia Brazil etc are the next powers of the world so you can go and cry into your beer if you like. That is why Kosovo is kept on the boil and will not be resolved until its in Serbia’s favour.

I imagine that the US citizens are enjoying their current situation so much these huge demonstrations are only being organised because people want to take their slippers out for a stroll?

The US collectively now owes not $15 trillion, but $47 Trillion and increasing fast. This is comprised of Federal and State debt. This last amount does not include the unfunded liability of something in the order of $115 trillion.

When this goes BOOM I’d rather live in Serbia than anywhere in the US. Watch what happens in the next two to three weeks as the authorities cannot hide what is happening to the US economy.

Just a reminder that resolution 1244 is still in force and they will be there unless the UNSC decides otherwise whether Albanians and/or Serbs like it or not.

So you really think that if the world's largest economy implodes, everyone won't be affected, including China, Russia, India and little bitty you?

The old saying is that if the American Economy sneezes, everyone else gets a cold. That's as true today as ever. Maybe more so.

The Count of Kosova

The Serbs claim to hate the USA, yet they never miss the opportunity to suck up to the Americans. Maybe it's just a case of penis envy.

Yep and in fact a more recent poll found out that a high proportion of skilled Americans would not migrate given the opportunity simply because of what is going on.
