"Clinton also did not rule out the possibility that her country could cut funds to UNESCO over its decision. "

Blatant blackmail period. But why stop just at your shameless threat to cut funds? Why not really put your money where your mouth is and threaten to quit UNESCO altogether? Pathetic creature!

By the way, Palestine has existed since blibical times, long before the Yankees establish their Yankee Land. So when it comes to culture and cultural history, I would think the Palestinians are not any less eligible than the Yankees themselves to UNESCO membership.

LOL...Ataman, if you are into cougars you could not have picked a worse one than Hillary. Sarah Palin is a far better choice!

Palin is more like a MILF - and that's the pre-cougar stage. On that picture Hillary looks like a female Palpatine. A Jedi would say looking at her: "Sith happens".

LOL I really wonder if these US "leaders" honestly think what they say is taken seriously by the rest of the world these days

Here we go. The UN will be an easy target when the US finally stops pretending to make cuts. Even with compliant UNSG like Ban-Ki Moon, if the UN rejects too many of the US' demands, they'll get kicked. The US against the world, and by world I mean their war buddies and those people who are only friends because they are being bought off by US military or 'humanitarian' aid.

Leon Panetta, the new Defense Secretary, has gone to Brussels to tell his NATO colleagues in Europe to massively increase their defense spending. This man has no concept of what is going on in Europe which is closer to a second recession than at any time in the last 18 months. But no, spend more money on weapons. Another nail in NATO's coffin?

Maybe she can command the NATO to bomb the UN building during general assembly, to get rid of UNESCO?
(Winston, 6 October 2011 10:26)

Yep.

First was the War on Drugs.

Then there was the War on Terror.

Now... the War on UNESCO.

you have certainly aged ungracefully. As for the US cutting funds, I thought that they had no money, and was looking at cutting costs, what a bizzare comment

How dare any world organization go against the demands of DC? "Cut off their funds", until they fall in line and obey America. You gotta love how the USA conducts foreign policy. It's their way, or the highway. Maybe she can command the NATO to bomb the UN building during general assembly, to get rid of UNESCO?
