An unfortunate image chosen of the Minister with a bunch of cows. You could say very appropriate.

The banning of the Gay Parade was an act of cowardice in the face of bullies. The international community is watching his next move.

... And Serbia is wanting to join the European Union? What a joke. Brussels should file the Serbian application in the "No Way" file until such time as the country does not deny the human rights of any "minority"

Very healthy cows you have in Serbia...

Those cows are actually quite rare, its not often you see brown and white ones. Of course, no country matches New Zealand in cow population though :P

The shame is on this anti-democratic politician. The shame is on those who suppress freedom of speech.

I would never have thought that I would want to go on a parade like this - but I think I would attend just to support the democratic voice of a repressed minority.

I am disgusted by this suppression just as I was disgusted by the disregard for the sensibilities of minorities and of other cultures that was so evident during the conflicts of the last few years.

This parade was cancelled on this occasion, but it will happen in future many time over, and due to the current resistance, it will get stronger and bigger than would have been the case if tolerance were to have been more immediately forth-coming.

As I have said before - ignore it and it will go away. Fight it and it will come back and bite you in ways you do not expect.

Tom the homoextremist should invite him to Lazybrook and reward him for saving lives of many gays.

I support the rights of everyone to protest peacefully, including those that I disagree with. Too bad you don't. And somehow I'm an extremist?

I just point out facts.

1) Serbia has a constitution that protects the rights of minorities to protest publically on the streets of their capital. In the event of terroristic threats by anti-Gays, that right must be protected by the police. The police union colluded with groups dedicated to the violation of minority rights in Serbia (Dveri) and the Interior Ministry either failed to anticipate or refused to prepare for violence from anti-Gay terrorists even though they had five months to prepare. The Interior Minister refused to appropriately jail those responsible for the violence last year.

2) Serbia's accession accords to the Council of Europe and its' own constitution specify that Gays have a right to protest publically in their captial. And to shove the protest into the margins is the same as cancelling it.

Its not extreme to state that Serbia has no freedom of speech, petition, protest, assembly, association, and expression for minorities in their national capital. Its a fact.

The extremists are those that seek to use violence or the threat thereof to deny peaceful minorities their basic (very basic) human rights.

No thanks. Serbia didn't save any Gay people on Sunday. They just encouraged the extremists in and out of the Serbian government that violence against Gays is effective, will not be punished, and isn't something that the police are going to do anything about.
