Does the state changed its name from ilia to ili(ri)a(e) and instead go the church after you go to mosque. be very anast please.

It is stupid to ask religion in census, state is secular, at least in Albania, but state has recently started giving money from the budget to religious institutions...which is against the constitution of a secular state....and in the policies of a secular state, religion is not suposed to become a factor which could influence the directions of its policies, because state has no right to support religion, in theory it is against the law of a secular state, churches and mosques should become subject to taxation, and very high taxation, because they ocupy valuable land in downtowns, and in turn contribute nothing to economy, or politics...the real purpose of this 'census' in Albania, Fyrom and Serbia is to increase arab, jewish and vatican influence ...i think that, serbs, if they really care about their ''sovreignity'' should start by removing religion. We should leave aside our hostilities for a while, and remove religion.

Bganon, census is very invasive in every country. We just had one here in Australia and yes all the questions were there.
By your interpretation we are all under scrutiny and maybe we are but the questions are there and you can answer them any way you please.
You can say you are a Jedi or a Pastafarian. Who cares?

However, it is in your interest to answer correctly so the government can allocate funds as needed depending on the population mix.

Religion has nothing to do with the law. Corrupt religious people have no right not to respect the law of the land in which they live. Why rise for large dust ... to conceal his true identity.
In other words: If you boycott the census .. no you anywhere .. so be very quiet if you do not like a passport in hand and go where you think you can dig holes everywhere, you know the reality out there chances are you zero. Be satisfied and happy in a country where you were born is your Serbian.

Well they didn't come back today but I have been hearing about the sorts of questions they are asking - they were at a friend of mine's for 50 minutes! I mean come on, what the hell is this?

They ask if one has been away for a year or more, the measurements of their kitchen, who has been abroad etc. And its illegal to refuse to answer the questions apart from religion I think. On that point those asking the questions are getting very confused by some Serbs not saying they are christians. If one says for example one is an atheist they leave the box blank - and no doubt they add later 'orthodox christian'. Obviously there is no understanding that religion is a choice, first what religion one is and second whether one practices one's religion or is not religious. How the hell would it be normal for example to describe oneself as Orthodox, if one doesn't believe in God?
Absolutely absurd, except in the mind of an idiot.

Anyway Ataman they didn't come back today even though they left a notice saying they would. They should come back a third time - if they count today, as if they were here. If I'm not at home thats just too bad.

I'm likely to get pretty angry if they start asking me all kinds of questions, so perhaps I'm better off not having my time wasted at all.

Ataman

pre 12 godina

They banged on my door this morning. I didn't answer as I haven't decided what exactly I will answer. They come back 3 times and after the 3rd time there is supposedly some kind of sanction.

To be clear I am in the process of looking up what I'm currently legally obliged to answer of the questions.

(bganon, 2 October 2011 02:20)

We decided.

The questionnaire is to fill out per household and after declaring, how many people live there fill out extra per-person. It is mandatory to fill it out for everyone, but it is not mandatory to fill it out correctly, there is no penalty for that - and it can't be because the census supposed to be anonymous.

At the moment someone is prosecuted for not filling it out correctly, that is in violation of the anonymousity.

In that spirit just fill it out with some BS. Not filling out would mean you can be under scrutiny. Filling out incorrectly means "go where you came from" to the Big Brother.

By the way, Elf is an allowed race in Russia, but if I am Albanian, I would just fill that out as "internet troll", allowed or not in Serbia - but the paperwork has to be adopted to the reality on ground.
(Ataman, 1 October 2011 15:06)

There must be some Albanian blood in you , since you mention Albanians every turn you make, but yet, you show your true hatred towards Albanians. WHY???
(Agim Kelmendi, 1 October 2011 18:42)

I may very well have Albanian blood, who knows what did happen 200-300 years ago. But you are 100% a Serb at least according your family name. Kelmendi clan is "Klimentovic", no kidding and it's very well known fact. Just look at the Wiki. Now I know how to tease you :)

Otherwise a very good question, thanks for asking - you are the first to do it. Indeed, why so personal?
Reasons:

#1: Not sure, you are the same as "Kosova-USA", seem to match more-less, if yes - you may remember the case, Kosova-USA is here since ever. The reminder is here, in my answer to Milan:

http://www.b92.net/eng/news/comments.php?nav_id=76646

Robert and Anders from Stockholm Sweden Tourist and Pride 2011 visitors in Belgrade!, If you just judge and insult Serbia and its people because your little luxury vacation turned out differently then please take a cab to the airport now and go back to Sweden. Then Serbia and Belgrade do not need your money and you do not deserve their hospitality.
(Milan, 1 October 2011 13:57)

This is the worst thing anyone can tell to a tourist, be he gay, wooden elf or a Martian.
Precisely that kind of Albanian attitude during our first visit in 1981 made me such a big "supporter" of their agenda.
(Ataman, 1 October 2011 16:16)

In other words: we were extremely Albanian-friendly as long as we did not enter Kosovo in 1981. The welcome wasn't very good, we were chased away for nothing. That made awful first impressions - and no one ever made a single effort to take care about it or improve. Every time I mention our little mishap... no one says the little magic phrase: "oh, these were some idiot hillbillies, apology for them, what a dumb nationalist bunch"

I am here just to hear that phrase, this is my agenda here - no kidding. I know, it never will happen.

#2: Precisely what I wrote. I never seen such amount of "trolling" like the Albanians do. Major tourist sites like Thorntree (and even better and bigger ones) are flooded by trolls just to provoke. Much depends on the moderator, if the moderator is reasonable or the site is moderated with heavy hand - everyone behaves.

#3: I have some very heavy presence on a very different site. You will be surprised that everything looks very different and if you look at the "friends" tab - there will be some names you will be even more surprised.
That's because they aren't trolls. And we bring money to Kosovo, more than some big-mouth characters here.

#4: The entire Kosova-project is sponsored by crooks and the major players in Kosovo are an other set of crooks. That has nothing to do with Albanians per se, but that does not make me like that project.

But to be honest from what I've read its a bit much really. How much information do they really need and where will it end up being stored and who will it be shared with? In Serbia there is a lot of corruption I'm not at all sure the information won't finish in the wrong hands either now or in the future.

As it is they have fingerprints of every citizen with an identity card. I wonder if in the future they will also seek our DNA. And hell if people say 'why not, I haven't done anything wrong?', I wonder how long it will be before a majority agree to having cameras installed in their homes - after all if there is nothing to hide, why not - the argument goes.

Perhaps I err on the side of paranoia, or perhaps I have quite a sound understanding of human nature and the way society (mal)functions.

well the census was done in kosovo already and is part of serbia because it is watched by the UN and now for the albanians and some bosniaks in the rest of serbia well it will just show a decrease in your populations in serbia for example there was 40,000 in preshovo valley and now maybe 5 thousand because you think your smart and bosniaks were 150,000 in serbia and now maybe 60,000 so you do what you want and will have no say because your population have decreased majorly and for Serbs in all of serbia will increase because of all the Serbs from bosnia and krajina and in vojvodina is where they mostly went at least the hungarians are doing the census because they have smarts not like albanians and some bosniaks lol and all of us serbs in serbia are saying we are serbs and that includes vojvodina, serbia not like they were saying everyone should say they are vojvodina peoples loool thats only a trick by the hungarians and some mixed up in the mind serbs but that aint going to happen CHEERS and salute to serbia and its poeple.just say your serbian and orhtodox and be proud of who you are.

By a coincident there is a census in Hungary this October. We did receive paperwork yesterday - I have to say, about 50% of the questions are scandalous and open wide possibility for an abuse.

It would be good to know what kind of paperwork has to be filled in Serbia. I lived long enough in the States to feel, not a single American would ever fill out what we got yesterday.

I think, I will fill it out just with bogus data, they can go and eat it. I suggest everyone doing the same.

"By the way, Elf is an allowed race in Russia, but if I am Albanian, I would just fill that out as "internet troll", allowed or not in Serbia - but the paperwork has to be adopted to the reality on ground.
Ataman"

And if I was Ataman I would fill it out as 'porcupine'

Religion has nothing to do with the law. Corrupt religious people have no right not to respect the law of the land in which they live. Why rise for large dust ... to conceal his true identity.
In other words: If you boycott the census .. no you anywhere .. so be very quiet if you do not like a passport in hand and go where you think you can dig holes everywhere, you know the reality out there chances are you zero. Be satisfied and happy in a country where you were born is your Serbian.

The same circus was going on in Romania also. I gave them only the basic information about me, but i`m not sure that they will not fake the rest to fit their purposes.
