The solution is simple. The West arms the young belarussians who will then proceed to exterminate the rather large proportion of population that are pensioners or, say everyone over the age of 50 so that they cannot vote for Lukashenko who has avoided the joys of western shock therapy treatment Russia went through. It could be called a 'humanitarian action' as all these useless old people are holding back the democracy, freedom loving young ones from doing whatever they want. If the young belarussians balk at this, then they either have the choice to let grandma and granddad starve/freeze/etc. to death or pay a significant portion of their salaries to keep them alive.

That the opposition has received funding and support from the west is not it doubt, so Lukashenko's reaction in light of the numerous western sponsored 'color' revolutions is no surprise (though not excusable). Whatever the results, the opposition would not have accepted them (as they have been trained to do by quislings like Popovic). Also it looks as if there's not much steam left in the Belarussian economy and prices for energy and other goods will only rise. No 'squaring of the circle' here. Nord Stream is now online so turning of the pipelines in either Ukraine or Byelorussia will have significantly less effect than the last times.

Belarussians, keep your shirt on!
