Fortunately I don't even expect the candidate status by the next elections. This is good as people are slowly waking up from the EU illusion. It's obvious that the EU will not positvely affect Serbian lives, its obvious that by the time Serbia is expected to join, there will not be a EU around.
Serious question to the EuroPhiles out there, what can a small European continent give Serbia that BRIC and the NAM cannot? I understand it is a developed continent, but with all the debt and the future insolvency, do they really have more resources than large nations such as Russia, Brazil, India and China? China has over 3 TRILLION in RESERVES sitting in their accounts. They just gave Belarus a billion and didn't even feel it. You do not think they would give us more if we let them build a military base in Serbia or in Republika Srpska?
We must orient our economies towards the developing markets. The EU is long developed and there is no room for growth there. It just so happens that ALL the developing markets (the ones who stocks are going to continue to soar) also support us on Kosovo, only the sinking Titanic countries do not i.e USA, Japan, Italy ect.
There are plenty opportunities with Latin America and India as well. Opportunities that would would surprise you because obviously the quasi controlled gov't in Belgrade have never even thought about exploring these kinds of options. New gov't=new opportunities for the Serbian economy to grow and Serbia's political clout in the Balkans.
Serbia 'has no alternative' than to align its self with the developing world. BRIC & NAM.
