Situation in northern Kosovo peaceful

EULEX police arrested Tuesday two Kosovo Serbs, one of whom is minor, on reasonable suspicion of having fired a weapon in the direction of a house belonging to a member of the Kosovo police in the village of Leško.

Wow, that was quick! What about the hundreds and hundreds of crimes committed against Serbians? Did they lose the evidence?

That Belgrade wants to divide Kosovo is nothing new. Belgrade must have something because they lost Kosovo. Serbs and Albanians can certainly coexist. And it has proven that it works. But the Serbs in northern Kosovo have been brainwashed by Belgrade in Order for Belgrad to win some points. You have a lot of serbs in Drenica the heart of UCK! And not even those serbs have problems with albanians. Serbs have said in those areas where they live that they don't recognize kosovo as independet but they accept the situation.

Why in the world would anyone want to unite the Serb and Albanian communities in KiM? The obviously do not want to exist together, and there will never be peace between them, never. The only solution is to divide N. KiM from the South and give it to the Serbs, or incorporate the North with the rest of KiM, and allow the Albaniacs to finish the job of totallt cleansing KiM of Serbs and other minorities. All other imposed solutions are a fantasy, at best.

Notice that 1 year ago no Serb would discuss partition of Kosovo because it was all Serbia's. Now most are let the South go and keep the north.
Notice the strong rhetoric from around the world that partition is not possible. Now if there is some type of partition whether it be total or with substantial autonomy, Serbs will declare a major victory.

Overwhelming odds ageist Serbs at this time are forcing us to take what we can at this time. But don’t be fooled, Serbians are very patient people and we never forget. In time do we will take back what is rightfully ours. Enjoy wile you can.

bt, yes, it is always easy for everyday people to live with eachother so long as each of the everyday joes is given a chance to feed, house and raise their families and themselves. joes and bobs don't care about who's in charge, never really have and never really will. they just want to keep on keepin on.
but i hope your comment is applicable to the albanian minority currently living in serbia, montenegro and macedonia. for every serbian sabre that has been rattled wrt kosovo, i've heard albanian ones regarding presevo.
perhaps they can all put them aside and struggle together

kosovo has its borders wheather sserbs or albanians live in. The borders of kosovo were set up along time ago, NOT TODAY. you cannot divide a country by its ethnic line or other countries such as macedonia, serbia agian montenegro ect..will be in trouble...the majority always win ...end of story....k.serbs cannot make laws like they wish

The barricades should continue until NATO/KFOR/EULEX agree to certain conditions for the administrative line between Serbia and north Kosovo. Ideally, companies exporting goods into north Kosovo should not have to pay any custom duties. But if they must, then all custom duties revenue should go to the north Kosovo municipalities. The Serbian government can then refund the companies the amount that they had to pay. This would in effect be a different way of Serbia funding services etc. in north Kosovo. Obviously, more money would be needed for the municipal services and so the government can continue to fund the municipalities there. VAT could also be collected by the Serbian government from sales in north Kosovo if this has not been done already. No money pertaining to north Kosovo should be allowed to make its way to the Pristina government coffers.

KFOR and EULEX must allow commercial goods to cross the administrative line including trucks over 3.5 tons. And it must be EULEX officials who review custom forms and carry out any inspections etc. The one or two Albanians at Brnjak and Jarinje crossings can be observers only and there can only be a limit of two Albanians at each crossing. Trade must flow, the crossings must be open and allow people and vehicles to move back and forth.

Exactly. Rexhepi is already flexing his..er...ego because a few Serbs were arrested. Now if this joke of an Interior Minister could only start arresting Albanian criminals in his own jurisdiction. NATO, KFOR, EULEX or their superior, the UNSC, don't have to agree to anything other than what the 1244 mandates them to do. If Serbs want to keep barricades to cut themselves off from Serbia, that's the Serbs' problem. As far as NATO/KFOR/EULEX are concerned, the Brnjak border crossing is open.

What do you expect to take back - Krajina, 70% of BiH, Kosovo...Ever since WW2 Serbia has been getting smaller and it will continue to shrink..Who's to say in the next 20 years when the muslim population swells three fold in Western Serbia they decide to breakaway from Serbia in link in with BiH, who is going to stop them? It makes me laugh how the Serbian people still continue to think that they have some sort of power in the Balkans, Tito is not around anymore Would do think will happen to Serbia when Croatia and Albania get into the E.U-If I had to answer that on B92 it would shock you..!

I suggest you get on a bus to Belgrade call into the Red Cross office and ask to speak to each and every individual involved. I think you would surpass 100 very quickly.

That's a different issue. First we need to know whether they want to be independent from Kosovo or not. Whether that's achieved or not, it's a different discussion to be addressed after the declaration.
