B92, it is time you implement so sophisticated algorithms to prevent flash voting from the same IP addresses. Just go to a local computer science department and hire a student until the job is done, outsource it to India or China, or let the IT people who you already employ fix this obvious problem. If not, you will be loosing more serious visitors and you will be literally left with the leftovers, which is not pretty.
(Milan, 19 September 2011 16:59)

Going around IP address limitation is not that hard - just requires extra time. However the cost involved for B92 could be more, than the entire thing is worth.

In general, I am against the ratings but if they must be, there are few easy barriers against the cheating. These would keep the web developer costs at minimum and also the bullying will be reduced to the minimum.

1) force people to enter CAPTCHA before the "+" vote will help because it slows down the process significantly and the fast Cmd-R + click cheating sequence is not possible anymore. Currently even without any programing a CMD-R-Click sequences take something between 1 and 5 seconds, usually about 2-3. You calculate.

2) Positive rating should be allowed without limits but only after entering CAPTCHA code. However, negative rating is allowed only if someone posts a MEANINGFUL response explaining his point of view. If that post is approved - than the negative rating goes into effect.

3) There should be a third option: "Remove the post because it violates the guidelines". Of course, hitting it would open a window where someone would explain what the violation is about.

Rules, We don't need no stinkin rules

It looks like a few village computer warriors were up all night voting for pro-Albanian and against pro-Serbian comments. Is Ivanovic insane? He criticizes the brave Serbs of Kosovo who live south of the Ibar River because they don't demonstrate or march on the streets against Pristina's illegitimate attempt at secession? The Serbs there live in ghettos surrounded by hostile at least and murderous at most Albanians who would kill a Serb as easily as they would slaughter a farm animal. They have no choice but to keep their mouths shut or risk tragedy. Ivanovic's criticism is to be condemned as it will only cause additional psychological pain to the risks that Serbs already face to their lives. Does Ivanovic forget that the most productive enterprise of the Albanians in Kosovo is organized crime?

Maybe Ivanovic should live there and see if he is capable of uttering a word without reprisals.
Easy for him to ask but I wonder how easy it would be for him to deliver if he was in the same situation. Belgrade has shown that they will do NOTHING when Serbs are being bashed, robbed or killed there. All they do is condemn the action and NOTHING is done by anyone. Not even an investigation takes place.

Those poor Serbs. They are in Hell and he asks them to make waves.

He stressed that Serbia and Kosovo and EULEX had understood the agreement on customs stamp differently, adding that the Brnjak and Jarinje administrative crossings “should not even be turned into customs checkpoints” because they are “only checkpoints at the administrative line”.

“It is unacceptable to Serbia in any way to have Kosovo policemen and customs officers at those administrative crossings because their ‘monitoring’ is in fact a political goal. Besides, what is there to monitor,” the state secretary pointed out.

So I guess these "administrative crossings" have not presented any problems for goods flowing from Kosovo to Serbia in the past then? By blocking goods from Kosovo, Serbia inadvertently recognized Kosovo, since if Kosovo was really part of Serbia, there would be no customs stamps, no importing and exporting, etc. Now people are upset that Kosovo is treating the so-called "adminstrative crossings" as borders, when in fact Serbia has done so for several years in everything except name.

I understand where Ivanovic is coming from. But its ok right now Southern Kosovo Serbs should be passive. You are are surrounded in a sea of death and you cant really do much or move outside your enclave. So to the Serbs in Gracanica, Strpce ect. just hold out, live in ghettos, live in occupation..until the day comes when the West FINALLY succumbs to its own greed and begins to fall (has already started, will take another 10-15 years to complete) and then when we come back to take our homeland back..we will already have bases in these areas and it will be that much easier to take back.

Don't move, stay. Accept K.Alb occupation for now if you have too. Belgrade should continue to fund you (instead of ridiculous "security meetings" by NATO in Belgrade) and just know that when the time comes for the West to leave, you will not be treated as a prisoner in your own country.

Until then, preserve my Serbs.

All of Serbia has to show to all Serbs in Kosovo that it and its people are standing by them 1000% and that all that is necessary and required by the Kosovo Serbs will be done so that they can keep living on as Serbs in their homeland and not as some fake Kosovars in a de facto new Albanian province. Maybe it would help if the Serbian government can find out why the Kosovo Serbs in Southern Kosovo have been so quiet. I doubt that it has to do with the fact that they are so happy in the NATO/EU multi-ethnic paradise AKA the maffia blackhole. However, if the Serbs in Southern Kosovo are unhappy with the way their goverment in Belgrade supports them then that same government has to start doing something constructive instead of criticizing them.

they are very clever to do that, they know that they have future only to obey the rules of kosovo which is more legal than serbia which is ilegal country built on killing other nations and invasion so this ilegal country will die from the same way. serbia has no future, what it doesn't need now, it is the war with albanians, which will make sandzak and vojvodina indipendent.(anyway this is going to happen in some future but war with albanians will make it faster). so serb friends, dont rely too much on russia, because it has the same future as your country, it will get shared away from china, from turkey and pakistan, three very strong countries which need the big lad russia has.

why?

pre 12 godina

Why should Serbs in the South protest? The have food, fuel and free roads, and I'm absolutely sure that they like it that way.

Poor Oliver. He cant place Serbian crminals in charge to murder Albanian policemen.

Yes, Belgrade is never accountable for its actions it's ____________ fault:

1) America's
2) EU's
3) "the west"
4) NATO
5) EULEX, ICO, QUINT, UNMIK
6) Kosovo / Albanians

and the latest blame factor: the average minorities.

Thanks,

Valon

This is the definition of provocation. But it will be dismissed by Serbs who want nothing more than a functional society surrounding their family. Those in N.Mitrovica, on the other hand, have been the largest victim of Serbias unauthorized ultra-nationalist structures in Kosovo.

"Serbs south of the Ibar River need to show the international community and Albanians that they “are not ok” with Kosovo’s independence."

Do you know that that mean? LOOKING TO CREATE TROUBLE.

"According to him, Serbs south of the Ibar River need to show the international community and Albanians that they “are not ok” with Kosovo’s independence."

Actually, they do not receive money from Belgrade, like Serbs in Northern Kosovo do. Additionally, they are not involved in smuggling, like the gangs in Northern Kosovo are.

This just shows who is behind these barricades - Belgrade!

As a Bulgarian, Nick is the only Slav who got under 300. Translation: "Thank you, Bulgaria for recognizing Kosovo, for the time being Bulgaria won't be part of Natural Albania"

But as I see, Pakistan's support to conquer Russia is overwhelming. Next danger in Asia: Albanian help arriving Karachi - streets full of donkey dung.

Peggy I agree, glad you now see what the trolls are capable of. You weren't so sympathetic when 'our' trolls were at work on me and on regularly inflating their own figures (egos).

Like I said to you many times before this trolling and trolls should be sanctioned.

How about B92 actually implementing its own policy first? I guess can afford it even less since being bought out and the cuts...
